Bloke skipped right by the page with the added extras for paint protection etc which added over a grand to the cost. I had to ask him to return to it. And my trade in was an insult. I got an offer of £2500 more from a garage against another Toyota. I wouldnt go back to Toyota in Ayr. That was poor. I've never had anyone skip by the extras. Trading Standards wouldnt be impressed, because i wasnt.

On the 26th of November I called into Toyota Ayr to find get an estimate for repair damage to my Yaris. I was told that the cost would be £168. I paid it, then was told that it probably won’t need a new bumper. Then was told that you don’t have a body shop to fix it. I can assure you that I would not have paid this knowing that you can’t repair it. Last week I tried to book my Yaris in for its service and mot.The first available appointment was the 31st of April. I called the branch thinking the online system was down. But no that’s the first appointment available. My Yaris mot is due on the 10th of April. I am very disappointed with this. Anyway Bridgend Garage in Ayr is fixing the bodywork and carrying out the mot this Monday.

I purchased a brand-new Toyota Yaris from Glasgow Toyota in June 2024. Within a few weeks, a yellow tyre pressure light appeared. I contacted the garage, and the first appointment at the newly opened Ayr garage was months ahead. I booked the car in, but nothing was found. Within weeks, the yellow light reappeared. Glasgow garage then insisted they would inspect the car, and I reluctantly agreed. The Glasgow garage found a large screw embedded in one of the rear wheels. Ayr garage had failed to notice it.
At the end of June this year, the car was booked in for a full service and MOT; no issues were reported from the Ayr garage. Within the last month, multiple yellow warning lights have appeared; again, I booked the car into the Ayr garage. The appointment time was 0900, and I was left sitting for 30 minutes. During the time I was waiting, a middle-aged chap appeared (around the same age as me), saying that his daughter's car had broken down. It needed to be repaired as soon as possible, as she needed it for her work; she had brake down cover with Toyota. The member of staff dealing with the chap treated him with total indifference and condescension; he became increasingly irate as the conversation progressed. I actually felt sorry for the chap, but it was my turn next. After waiting 30 minutes past my appointment time, I was shown to a Pruis courtesy car, I was handed the control device, and that was it. I had never driven a car like this before. After 5 minutes of attempting to figure out the controls, I gave up, as I had a GP appointment at 1000.
I raised a customer complaint, and the manager agreed to collect my car on the 13th November for inspection. I received a phone call later that day to inform me that there was nothing wrong with the car. I asked why multiple orange lights were appearing. I was informed that it was due to air pressure, and that I could attend any garage to remedy the issue myself. I have been driving since 1993, so this did not come as news to me. I made a journey 24 hours later, again, and multiple yellow lights appeared. I phoned the garage to raise the issue, but I encountered indifference again. I feel that there is something unsafe about this garage; it appears to lack governance. The lack of any alarm or interest in a new car breaking down by the staff employed at the garage raises a red flag. I identify with the irate gentleman.
I've never had to deal with this situation before; I've always been a fan of Toyota cars. My first one was a Starlet that I owned in the '90s for about 5 years. I owned the initial model of Yaris for 10 years. Indeed, that gem is still on the roads just now. I had a Honda Jazz for 10 years too; it was a brilliant car. The only reason I didn't opt for the Jazz this time was the $ 5,000 price difference, but I deeply regret it. Honda Parks Ayr garage is fabulous, and I would strongly recommend them. I buy my cars with reliability being a priority, but sadly, I genuinely feel the Toyota garage at Ayr is inadequate, shoddy and unreliable.
