Verona Burgundy: 3 lacs, and here's what I actually got
There's nothing about Verona's Burgundy program online, which means whatever their sales team tells you is the only version you ever hear. I paid for it. Here's the other version.
It is not different from Shaadi dot com or Jeevansaathi. Not really. They charge about double and they'll talk a lot about intentionality and their exclusive pool, and the underlying pitch is that you're still single because you haven't signed up yet.
Anyway, their own service document, line by line.
Curated matchmaking. "0-4 prospects per week, best-efforts basis, no guarantee on number, speed, compatibility, or outcome." Read that again. Zero to four. Four is you swiping four times on Hinge, except you wait a week. I never figured out the logic behind who got sent to me, and I did try, because half the profiles had nothing to do with anything I'd said in the intake. And you can't verify the outreach even happened. They say they reached out. You nod.
Introductions. They share a profile or set up a call. Takes two minutes if the other person is interested. Calling that a service is a bit much.
Profile creation. A PDF in Verona's colours with your photos and your answers in it. Ask ChatGPT/Claude, fifteen seconds.
Coaching. "Up to 1 hour per week." Zero sessions. Nobody offered, nobody followed up, and at some point I stopped bringing it up because I was tired of chasing them for something I'd already paid for. Maybe other people got theirs. Mine never happened.
Facilitation. "Any information shared is not independently verified by Verona." That's a disclaimer with a nice name on it.
Exclusive event. One singles meet-up. That dinner is worth 3k, tops.
So, 3 lacs. Four unverifiable cold calls a week and a Rs. 3000 dinner.
What actually got to me wasn't the money, it was how fast the tone changed once the payment cleared. Everything promised on the call turned out to be living inside a clause somewhere.
Their app, credit where due, is one of the better designed ones out there and the free tier is plenty. Don't buy Sapphire. Just use the app.
