Jason, who is my tutor was really amazing with my son, his guidance helped my son understand a lot more than he thought he knew. He was very detailed very prompt and worked really well with my son Blake.

We paid Varsity tutors for MCAT tutoring. They charged an extra two months despite services being canceled since the test was done and the services were no longer needed. They claimed it was a mistake but that since the charges went through they would not be able to issue a refund! After complaining they offered a partial refund of about $110 when the charges were over $700. They fraudulently charged our credit card and then didn’t reimburse the charges.
The services had been cancelled and since the MCAT test was completed, we obviously did not require anymore tutoring. They continued to charge a monthly fee despite the cancellation and despite their services not being used. That’s totally unacceptable. They are thieves.

My experience with Varsity Tutors has been nothing short of a fraudulent bait-and-switch operation, and I strongly urge anyone considering them to run the other way.
We called them with one clear, non-negotiable requirement: we explicitly and repeatedly asked for an in-home, physical tutor to come directly to our house. The sales representative on the phone looked us right in the eye—figuratively speaking—assured us that they could easily accommodate this, and rushed to take our payment information. They locked in the charge immediately.
The second the transaction cleared, the entire narrative shifted. The promised in-house tutor suddenly vanished, and they told us the only thing available was their standard virtual online tutoring program—something we explicitly stated we did not want from the very beginning. They deliberately lied and misrepresented their services just to get their hands on our money, securing the sale through outright deception.
When we demanded an immediate cancellation and a full refund for a service we never agreed to, they stonewalled us completely. They refused to reverse the charges, holding our hard-earned money hostage for a product that was completely different from what was explicitly contracted and promised.
Taking money under false pretenses and refusing to refund it when caught in a blatant lie is unethical, predatory, and unacceptable. Do not trust a single word their sales representatives say, and protect your wallet by staying far away from this company.

The only method to cancel is to call a voicemail box. They do not return the call no matter how many times you call. DO NOT SIGN UP.

My son’s tutor, Lauren, is incredibly patient, kind, and never belittles him for getting answers incorrect. She’s always on time and super friendly and engaged in the session.

My tutor Veronica is flexible and very knowledgeable. I enjoy learning with her and talking/chatting about current issues and daily life in Italian as well as brushing up my grammar skills. She is very easy to talk to.

We have met and worked with incredible tutors on Varsity that made such a difference! The platform is really easy to use as well! The only issue we have encountered is their customer service not following through and the system’s tracking system for hours.
