I was originally only going to write a poor review about the courier, but have ended up having to write a poor review about Vapextech. I have used this company for several years, purchasing several batteries for airsoft use. The batteries themselves are very good.
However the service from the company themselves has gone downhill and they are no longer interested in trying to help customers. When I contacted them after trying to resolve an issue with DHL, who had failed to deliver my batteries for a week, instead of helping me with my problem they told me their own woes!
I gave DHL further time but was let down and when I approached Vapextech to see if they could help restore my faith, they opted to refund me and told me not to use their company again! Well there you go! I’d understand if I’d peppered them with contact, complaints et.. but I hadn’t.
Sadly one to avoid.
The website was a little glitchy in places (received confirmation emails from "example.com") but I placed the order and paid via PayPal. I reasoned that if things didn't work out I'd be able to get my money refunded easily enough.
No need to worry though, my batteries turned up 2 days later and I can't ask for better than that. As to the quality of the batteries themselves, I suppose time will tell, but in terms of provision of goods, I'm very pleased.
I purchased the 2500 mAh low self-discharge batteries for use in a wildlife trail camera and for a flashgun and also a porch light. The batteries have performed well and the set in the flashgun held their charge well over the two years covid period - when the flashgun was in storage. I can also report that none of the batteries leaked, which is my main worry.
I bought two chargers over a year ago excellent for AAs. Only till now did I need to charge AAAs. My AAAs are Agfa. The bottom of these batteries have a small seal overlap. This means no electrical negative contact. they dont fit.
Do any other makes fit never tried any. So for me 3 stars based on that seems fair
Vapex rechargeable batteries and I have become repeat partners. My friends now order them too. Slowly, I'm replacing a range (bought elsewhere) that have failed repeatedly once the warranty expired. I use a lot but only buy the high capacity (mAh) cells and use them for various photography tasks. It's false economy to risk my pro level gear to dodgy, leaky cells. Vapex are reliable.
Had 3 batteries from Vapex. Bought 2 (11.1v 1300mAh 25C Crane Stock LiPo's) that failed at almost the same time, after about 2-3 months. They simply stopped accepting charge, which later turned out the connectors had just melted away from the cells.
The first failure Vapex very quickly sent a new one to me, that so far hasn't failed yet but its not been long in use. The second failure they just sent a refund, not sure why they didn't want to send another replacement but I was happy either way
Even though the 3rd one is still working as of right now, I just can't put my faith into such a rate of failure. If the previous ones failed within a few months, I imagine the 3rd one is likely to go the same but time will tell.
Third batch of lipo’s I’ve bought from Vapextech.
First rate service, great quality batteries, good prices and very quick delivery.
I purchased a pack of their 2900mAh Ni-MH AAs and have been impressed with their performance over the past three months. They have good capacities when I test them with my Maha Charger and last long in my camera. Their racing stick-packs are also working well in my RC equipment. Their customer service is helpful and polite, and I would happily buy from them again in the future.
