Order place mid July 2023. I have repeatedly asked, via phone and email, if the item we ordered is in stock. ALL of the customer service agent assured me (more than five times) that it was. Both phone calls made within 10 days of each other, resulted in the man who answered the phone, telling me it absolutely will ship 'within the week'. And that they will send tracking information 'in the next day or two'. THEY ALL LIED! I really think they couldn't be bothered to actually verify with their supplier. It's disgusting behavior and the disrespect has gained nothing more than a one time purchase of $100 versus years of a business relationship. Good luck to them with that.

Horrible customer service. I tried to cancel an order before it shipped to me (~10 days after ordering it still hadn't shipped). I was told this would be taken care of and I wouldn't be charged. The order showed up. I had to jump through all these hoops to return and was told I'd get a full refund since I should have never received the order to begin with. It has been over a month and despite probably close to 10 emails requesting a status update, I haven't heard anything since they sent me a label. I have been on hold for over 15 minutes and haven't spoken to anyone. I still don't know if they even processed my return.
I ordered an additional copper backsplash sheet on 11/7/22 (WEBVR3554912). It was in stock at that time.
When neither received nor heard anything by the week of 12/26 I contacted customer service. Spoke to a rep who told me she would check on order and get back to me. I never heard back from her.
After 3 weeks in January I called and rep said he would get back to me. A few weeks later he got back to me and said it would be sent out the end of the following week or beginning of the next week. At the same time I was on my computer a pop-up appeared from Van Dykes showing my backsplash pattern and said "order today, in stock". There was a chat button which I enabled and they answered me with the same time frame for delivery as the previous rep.
About 3 weeks later I got a phone message saying the order would ship around 3/17. Nothing arrived.
Called 4/13 and rep said it was out of stock. Then he looked again and said it showed 3 pieces in stock. He guaranteed me he would talk to "someone" and make sure one of the 3 would be sent to me. He said he would get back to me...still waiting.
I have been a customer of Van Dykes for the last several years. I have never experienced such incompetence and indifference from a "reputable retailer". Disappointing on so many levels!
The photos on their website look nothing like what you receive and they charge a $10 restock fee for every return no matter what the reason.
Family meal for ten people, we had to pre-order from a 3 course set menu which we all did. Food and service was ok although the choice was limited. Problems started when the bill came, the price of every single course for the ten people had been increased adding approximately £70 to the bill, then Vat added separately after. Bar manager stated they had recently increased the prices although we had only just received the prices. Nice place but watch your bill for mistakes and take your own drinks
Van dyke has received my return over a month ago. They keep giving me excuses. They refuse to give me back my $135.50.
I plan on filing a consumer fraud case with the South Carolina attorney General.
Additional review, I have been told before that my refund was being processed. It wasn't and I have to keep calling back. Put on a hold for over 40 minutes. Then told verbally it takes up to 48 hours for the refund. I did get an email after that saying it it will take 3 days.
When you order, vandyck immediately charge and take the money from your account. I have Been waiting since 12/16/22. I still do not have my money.
They continue to lie about my refund.
If I had customer service like VD, I would no longer be in business.
I have filed a consumer fraud case with the South Carolina Attorney General.

Stayed here overnight for my birthday new years eve. The room was beautiful.
However, we attended the Sherwood suite for the 3 course meal, the beef was that tough I had to hold my partner's plate whilst he cut into it.
Also wasn't impressed the fire alarm went off at 3am!! And had to vacate outside obviously but when we approached a member of staff before we left and paid, we got shrugged off and didn't even get an apology or better yet some form of compensation!
Doubt we will be returning
Unfortunately booked Christmas Eve and Chrismas day here !
Big mistake..... not cheap at all .... a grand in so far !
Got an email about my 2pm check in yesterday stating this couldn't happen unless I paid an extra £25 for the privilege to add the type very expensive trip already !!!

All the staff are 12 years old at best. Asked for a bottle of KRUG, Cant get it apparently ? Not available till the end of January due to Covid ?
Got a bottle LP Rose (they had that in stock) .... left the bar to the table, had to ask to ask 4 times to get it brought to my table ......... whilst a couple sat st our bar seating looking at it for 10 minutes.
Starter and main course average at best. Get better food in our local pub that's rubbish.

My cabinetry business bought a custom Mahogany ladder for a bookcase that we are building / installing. The ladder components were totally unmatching in tone and character. Our ladder itself is made entirely from sapwood! Unreal. No accountability from VanDyke's. To boot, they did not include the hardware that we paid for! The customer service in trying to get our hardware parts has been a real horror show. We need our hardware and can't get any answers. Emails where they literally ignore our questions. Their business model is that they make you go crazy until you just go away and repurchase the same goods somewhere else. I'm not going away!
I was looking for a new place to start purchasing mesh for my kitchen cabinets builds and came across Van Dyke's. Looked at a couple things and figured I would put an order together the next day or so.
Got an email next day with a 10% discount code so I put it in my cart to use soon.
Well a day later I got an email with a Black Friday 25% discount code so I went ahead and placed my order.
My fault for not paying attention to the total until this morning and realized only 10% came off not 25% since it did not take the new code because the 10% was still in cart.
I just called and spoke to two people there and they said nothing can be done.
As a business owner myself I know the owner or manager can do an override but they apparently didn't want to and so I overpaid around $120
I learned a lesson here but I also learned that Van Dyke's isn't customer friendly so I would rather pay a bit more elsewhere

Worst Customer experience of my life.
I’ve dealt with Van Dyke’s Restorer’s horrendous customer service for weeks now with no resolution. My faucet took them almost three and a half weeks to ship (well past their 7 – 10 business days per their policy). After the 7-10 business days elapsed, I called their customer service number three days in a row, and each time they had no clue about the order or shipping status, said they’d contact me with an answer, and did not. I emailed customer service who promised a refund in an email, sent an email confirming the transaction of a refund, but did not refund my money. I requested a return shipping label so I could simply return the item whenever it arrived, and was told they would do that, too, but never received this label. Nearly four weeks after my order, and after I already ordered the same item from another vendor, the faucet arrived. When I checked online, the order status on the website still showed the order as “pending.” Nearly four days after their faucet arrived, I finally received an email from them confirming delivery. I went out of my way to order from them, and was willing to spend more and wait longer on purpose for the same product just to use a smaller, domestic distributer and support a smaller business located in the U.S.A. I was rewarded with the one of the worst customer experiences of my life. Stay clear of this company.
Update: on 10/28/22, after I posted a negative review on social media and other consumer review websites, I received an email from VanDyke's Restorers promising a refund within 5-7 days. I will update this review accordingly if I receive this refund.

About the same as what I'm reading on here regarding Van Dykes, I gave them a card number and yet they can't figure out how to use the number I gave them? Then they took my order for a few items and that order has maybe gone into a Black Hole, spinning out away into the remote corners of the Universe? Whoever wrote that they have nothing on hand is correct, they haven't anything on hand, as far as we know they're buying our ordered items from a street vendor in Pakistan.
This is one of the worst retail experiences I have ever had.
The product was not described properly in the catalogue—- gold mesh for cabinets . It was unusable.
I could not get any one to help me or respond!!! I wanted some technical support and to exchange.
I have spent much time on hold. Twice after I held for more than 29 minutes they hung up on me! One person promised to call me back in 1 hour—- I m still waiting , 3 days.
Customer service is as important as a great product. This company has neither.
Buyer Beware—-TERRIBLE . Go elsewhere.

I wish I could give zero stars. Their customer service is complete ridiculousness like I have never seen in my life. You honestly picture the 3 Stooges when dealing with them. I received the wrong order TWICE. Then, they stopped replying to my emails. It's been 5 weeks today since I placed my original order. So I called them, which I had tried doing in the past only to be on hold so long I gave up. Today I put them on speaker phone and waited it out....only to find out that they can't reopen a case a 2nd time, and would just cancel my order and refund my money. (The back story: I received the 4 corner legs just fine, but the 2 center legs were wrong) I still need the 2 matching center legs, but am afraid to place a 2nd order just to get the wrong item again followed by 5 weeks of run-around and ghosting. It's crazy.
DO NOT BUY FROM VAN DYKES!!!! Placed an order, received no shipping information for a week, so sent an email, still no response, so called 800 number. An offshore answering service answered, they checked my order only to find out it was back ordered until NOVEMBER, I ordered July 7th!!!! I canceled order.

Bought two wooden handles from Van Dykes for restoration of a chest. The order was correct but their shipping folks sent the wrong item. Took several days of calls and emails, before they agreed to give me a refund. Quite a run-around. On top of that, they refused to refund the shipping even though they shipped the wrong item. I'm a professional and use to deal with this company many times a year. No more. The new owners have ruined this once great company.

I was restoring an antique chest that has been in the family for a couple of generations at least. I ordered some hinges and latches that I thought would work but when I received them I just didn't like the way they matched my chest. I ordered a second set and sadly they weren't any better of match, my issue not theirs. Both orders shipped promptly and were exactly as I expected. They just didn't work with my situation. I contacted customer service about a return and they responded within hours with a full refund and offered to send a return shipping label. I was very impressed with their no nonsense return acceptance. I would definitely use them again for any future purchases.
Arrived for a longstanding booking outside, on the only sunny Bank Holiday this year. Only to be told that it's not possible due to "h&s", and directed inside. Very disappinting.
I placed an order on line of a product. After 4 weeks when I didn't receive it I called customer service. She told me only that the product would be shipped as soon as possible. After another three weeks when I still had not received it I called again. This time they told me the product had been discontinued. Since then however, a Van Dyke Restorrs ad for this product has been popping up an advertizment of the so called "discontinued" product everytime I go on line or go to Facebook. Why would they continue to push a product that they told me weeks ago has been discontinued? Imagine others who click on the same product for purchase only to go through the same frustration and waste of time as I did and then to find out it no longer exists.
