Beach condo

The condo is located right on the beach so have a nice view of the ocean. Has a heated swimming pool protected from the wind so very nice, spent a lot of time there. Nice to have the free bus service. Only negative is living room furniture needs replaced, no padding left and not much baking pans and no mixing bowls. Am renting next year.

Zero service

Zero service. Didn’t tell us about the pool and hot tub construction prior to the booking, didn’t fix the safe during our stay to lock up our passports etc, and didn’t do anything to offer any sort of service and or compensation for the shortfalls. Won’t be using Vacasa again…..

Review:

I recently rented a Vacasa-managed property in Highland Beach, Florida for approximately $35,000, expecting a high-end, professionally managed vacation home experience.

Unfortunately, what we encountered instead was one of the most frustrating rental experiences I’ve ever had.

From the beginning of our stay, there were multiple serious issues with the property that significantly impacted our ability to enjoy the home. These problems ranged from maintenance issues to general condition problems that simply should not exist in a rental at this price point.

Throughout the stay, we repeatedly contacted Vacasa staff and management to address the issues. While some representatives were polite and responsive, the reality was that many of the problems either took far too long to address or were never fully resolved.

One of the most concerning aspects of the experience was Vacasa’s corporate structure and contractual approach. Vacasa often explains that they are “just the property manager” and that responsibility ultimately lies with the homeowner. However, from a renter’s perspective, you are paying Vacasa tens of thousands of dollars and reasonably expect them to ensure the property meets a professional standard.

When issues arise, this structure creates a frustrating situation where responsibility is effectively passed back and forth between Vacasa and the property owner, leaving the renter with very little leverage.

After numerous emails, phone calls, and documented complaints, Vacasa eventually issued a small partial refund, but it was nowhere close to reflecting the disruption and issues experienced during a very expensive stay.

What renters should understand is this:

Vacasa’s contract appears to limit their responsibility for the actual condition of the property, meaning that if the owner has failed to properly maintain the home, Vacasa may claim that they are not fully responsible.

In practical terms, that means that even if you pay a very large amount for a rental, you may have very limited recourse if the property does not meet expectations.

To be clear, some Vacasa staff members tried to help, and I appreciate their efforts. But the overall system is structured in a way that does not adequately protect renters when problems occur.

My advice to anyone considering renting through Vacasa is simple:
• Ask detailed questions about the property’s maintenance and inspection history
• Understand Vacasa’s contract and what they are actually responsible for
• Realize that if something goes wrong, resolving it may be far more difficult than you expect

For a rental in this price range, the experience should be seamless. Unfortunately, in this case, it was anything but.

Renters should proceed with caution.

Great location but the condo was run…

Great location but the condo was run down. There was newspaper stuffed in the window because the window was not locked. However, we were able to push the upper window up from below when we opened the window completely. We then locked the window and it sealed. I was disappointed that upon checking in that no one had figured out how to close the window before our arrival. Also, the kitchen had 3 small frying pans, a 10 quart large pot and baking pans. There were no 4-6 quart pots or larger pans for sautéing which limited meal preparation.

Sugar Mountain Skiing

We loved the ski in & out from our cabin. Our cabin was nice but dated. The Kitchen floor needs some ATTENTION it was a little SCARY. We had a great time and looking to come back in December.
