Vacasa Failed To Render Services or List My Property But Sent Me to Collections 4 Years Later

Attempted to list my property with Vacasa in 2022. After months of repetitive communication and their inability to get the listing live or accurate, they sent a cleaner who did not perform basic services like dusting or vacuuming.

Due to the ongoing issues, I canceled the onboarding process. At the time, I was assured by their team that my account would be closed and all charges waived.

Nearly four years later, I received a collections notice. The property was never listed and no bookings ever occurred.

This reflects a serious lack of follow-through and internal communication. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution other property owners against using Vacasa.

Took our money, no condo, and horrific communcation

My daughter and her boyfriend rented a condo in Florida through VRBO. The condo was managed by Vacasa and they had consistent communication leading up to the trip. My daughter and her boyfriend arrived in Florida (after driving from Michigan). They had messaged Vacasa numerous times while getting closer to their destination through the VRBO app trying to get check-in information. No response and no way to get into the condo. They ended up having to find a hotel during spring break and spent additional money on the cost of the hotel. Still nothing from Vacasa. Again, the condo was rented through VRBO and was a Vacasa property. Numerous calls and time have been spent on the phone with VRBO with zero resolution. VRBO is saying that the property switched management companies before their arrival. Vacasa made no mention of this in any of their communication. I am assuming they are the ones that took the money since it was a Vacasa property at the time of rental. This was all so sketchy to me I began questioning if Vacasa was even a real company or a scam. How can you just ignore renters who have paid and had communication up until check-in? The legit business thing to do would have been to communicate. Instead, its been six weeks with zero resolution and Vacasa was the money maker. VRBO has made zero effort to assist in the resolution.

Suggesting we contact Avari is not a resolution. The property was managed by Vacasa at the time of payment and therefore, the money went to Vacasa. Not Avari. Avari does not owe us money, money is owed by Vacasa and therefore, I still recommend nobody use your company.

Absolute serentity

This property gives you everything that you need to be completely at peace. From someone that's visited this property for the better part of 20 years in the spring, the views of the river and mountains never get old.

Great Oasis!!

The property was centrally located to many things to do in Fort Lauderdale. Close to the beach and right on an Intracoastal. We'll updated and larger than expected. Quiet community. The property management staff was quick to react to small items to address. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will look to rent again the next time we are in the area.

This is really a nice place to relax…

This is really a nice place to relax and enjoy the Padre Island experience. It was very clean and the spacious entry was welcoming. Privacy outdoor shower for rinsing off is a great idea. Nice breezeway and lighting. I liked the location as it was easy to visit Corpus Christi, The Padre Island National Seashore or Port Aransas. Shout out to Ol' Steakhouse for great food and excellent service.

I used Vacasa as a property management…

I used Vacasa as a property management company to manager my rental property. We continued to get complaints and bad reviews due to lack of communication and cleanliness of the property. Our property was wildly underperforming due to there management.

Perfect location

Perfect location, right on the ocean. In this unit there is nothing between the lanai and a beautiful view of the ocean. It is spacious and comfortable with everything you need beyond your clothing and personal gear. Location is close to restaurants, shopping, and just strolling. The kitchen is fully equipped. Sleep was great with comfortable beds like we have at home. It will be hard to forget morning coffee on the lanai with a fresh sea breeze,
