We help everyday become become successful artists without art world or gallery connections. If you're not a tech whiz, that's ok too! Our flagship program is called The Academy and inside you get access to on demand training videos, 1 on 1 coaching calls, and group Q&A calls, and much more to help you grow your art practice. We strongly believe that the education and employment systems in our current world are deeply flawed and require significant improvement. The traditional route of attending school, college, and obtaining a corporate job often leaves individuals burdened by debt, ill-prepared, and lacking direction. Our core values serve as the foundation for all of our actions at Unstarving Artists. These values guide us on the path towards achieving our mission. 1. We strongly believe that people possess incredible potential and are capable of living the lives of their dreams. Unfortunately, many individuals have never been taught about how the world operates or how to create income outside of traditional employment. 2. We hold the belief that knowledge is power. The only thing separating the wealthy from the poor is access to the right knowledge and possessing an effective mindset to navigate the world. 3. We recognize that the conventional education system is deeply flawed and continuing to decline. We are determined to offer a better alternative to individuals seeking a more fulfilling path. 4. We are confident that our training programs are the best in the world for helping ordinary people launch their own art practices, earn a sustainable income from their artwork, and take control of their destiny. 5. We value the pursuit of objective truth, challenging assumptions, and leaving nothing sacred. 6. We believe that less is more and that focus is a tremendously powerful tool. In a world full of information, it is increasingly crucial to filter out irrelevant noise and remain focused on the essential. The way we get the word out about what we do is profoundly simple: get our clients life changing results and the rest will take care of itself. At Unstarving Artists, you won't find any gurus or see photos of people posing in Lamborghinis or private jets. We believe our efforts are best served helping our clients and then letting their results speak for us. We'd love to see you be our next success story.

Its not what its hyped up to be.

I was excited at first. There is allot of good selling advice but ultimately after 8 months my follower count is no better than before i started. The course promises follower growth and that failed. the course promises sales and that failed. Ultimately my advise after bringing this issue to Harry is that MAYBE my account was compromised in the past and i should set up a new account and start all over! and in 3 months MAYBE il see a difference. Sorry but id have to give this course a fail.

Pierre told me that he bought thousands of followers on Instagram in the past. Purchasing followers violates Instagram's terms of service and community guidelines. Among Instagram experts, the consensus is that Instagram knows when an account purchases followers and then heavily reduces the reach of the account in the algorithm. That being said, no one knows this for 100% certainty unless they work on this part of the algorithm at Instagram and those employees are under non-disclosures. I told Pierre to check the engagement rate of his content to see if it was greater than 5% on average. If it was, that was a good sign that his account would be ok at this point and unaffected by his purchase of followers years ago. I said to be absolutely safe that I would start with a fresh account that never has violated Instagram's terms and that he could post collab posts from that new account to the old account to get his content in front of both audience. I will always be honest with clients. Some times the honest answer requires taking one step back to take two steps forward. If you're looking for some other dynamic, I will not be a fit to work with you. -Harry

Why the Academy at Unstarving Artist

I have enrolled in multiple related art classes / courses that have been helpful, however The Academy at the Unstarving Artist truly embraces a wholistic approach where EVERYTHING is taken in consideration for the growth and success of us artists: mindset, finances, art work, research. I have grown and evolved as an fine artist AND as an entrepreneur to my next level thanks to this course, and I am looking forward to reach my next level and my next level. And in case you are wondering, yes I have sold multiple art commissions.

Great information and help

Great information and help. The information shared is a real eye opener. The art marketing methodology is just fantastic but you have to step out and follow the instructions. If you do you can expect great things. I'm actually really excited bu this investment!

I’m changing my previous review

I’m changing my previous review, this system is not all that great really. They only use Instagram as a platform. There is another tier to the program that would help you more but that is another $5000.00. After I already paid $2000. So forget it!

Corinne Pondell Holt I'm bummed to hear you're feeling frustrated and stuck.

> They only use Instagram as a platform.

We state clearly and repeatedly in our free content and our marketing that our methods focus on Instagram. That said, the fundamentals that you learn are independent of the specific social media platform we teach. We have many clients having success with our methods using Facebook or LinkedIn for example. We've had clients use our methods to make sales with TikTok too.

> There is another tier to the program that would help you more.

Yes as a business we offer additional services. Businesses offer multiple services for different clients with different needs and goals. We repeatedly state that you do not need to be a client of a higher tier service in order to see results. In fact, at the time of Corinne's membership and the time of writing this reply, the higher tier service has no additional extra training that Academy members do not have access to.

We also want to provide some additional helpful context on this client's experience on our end. On February 28th, 2023, weeks before they switched their 5 star review to a 2 star review, I, Harry Whelchel, the founder of Unstarving Artists, sent Corinne a private direct message with this message:

"Corinne, just wanted to reach out to say I've been noticing all the action you've been taking and the effort you've been putting in. It's so awesome to see you progressing. Really excited for you so keep up the great work 🙂"

Proactive DM support like this isn't formally included in The Academy, that said, we care about our clients and want to see them get results so I'll send messages like this occasionally. Corinne chose not to respond. If she had responded and mentioned that she was frustrated or experiencing some challenges I would have personally worked with her, along with other coaches on our team, to overcome whatever obstacles she was facing.

I'm bummed to see she didn't respond. It would have been the best thing for her own sake and what's more she would have received some extra help, again above what's included in The Academy, to help her take action and get back on track.

On March 14th, 2023 Corinne switched her review from 5 stars to 2 stars. That same day I privately reached out to her again with a DM saying:

"Hey Corinne, I just received an alert you changed your review on TrustPilot. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling frustrated and stuck. Catch me up on where you are at?"

I received no response again.

On March 15th, 2023 I sent this private message:

"Hi Corinne, just sending a friendly follow up. Catch me up on where you are at?"

And have still received no response though I can see she is still actively logging in and using the program.

Corinne we'd still love to help you take more action and see more results but you'll need to use more of the support resources we make available like asking questions on Q&A calls, in the community, or in 1 on 1 coaching calls. If you have constructive feedback on what you feel is missing from The Academy for you to see more value, please feel free to let us know privately at support@unstarvingartists.com. We love constructive feedback that's designed to help us improve and better serve you as well as all our clients.

For folks who are considering joining The Academy, if you stay positive, take action, and ask for help, you will have a ton of fun and see a ton of progress! If you choose to ignore us when we proactively reach out to help and support you, by definition, we cannot help you. Also I'll be the first to admit we're not perfect. We always have areas where we can improve. So for that reason we love constructive feedback! That said, if you choose to not give us constructive feedback on how you're not seeing enough value, we therefore also cannot work to better serve you.

This is a great program for artists…

This is a great program for artists that are open-minded about new ways to reach and form relationships with new collectors. It is packed full of information and practical methods. The team is very accessible and helpful with all questions you have. You can learn and progress at your own pace.

All the Tools, But It's Up to You

I appreciate that Harry and his team make themselves as available as possible. They treat people well -- always kind, considerate and positive -- they are never disparaging, no matter where you are in the process.

This is authentic and valuable material for those who want to build an art practice; there are incentives to move quickly, but it's also possible to go at your own pace (this has been my experience, as my young children are currently my priority).

Unstarving Artists is the real deal, but it's up to you to determine how far and how fast you move forward; no one will judge you as you walk out the process; it's always a welcoming platform. I would recommend it for anyone when needs clarity and discernment to make the most of their art practice.

Unstarving Artists / The Academy a helpful program for artists!

Unstarving Artists has really helped guide me to my business goals as an artist! Let's face it, it's difficult to sell your art, especially without a structured, well-thought out marketing strategy. The Academy program (formerly Flywheel Lab) provides that! For starters, it can be difficult finding the time and energy to market yourself, and at the same time producing your artwork. There's a very helpful community of fellow artists within the The Academy which really helps too! It's so important to have good support! It sets Unstarving Artists apart from all the other companies by offering daily interaction and Q&A sessions for its entire community. In my opinion, it's the standard for us artists learning to navigate the business world.
