Excellent maps, beautifully finished to a very high standard. Just as impressive was the customer service — personable, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful throughout, including quickly chasing up a minor delivery query without any fuss. A really positive experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

I’m really disappointed with my experience, particularly because I’ve ordered from this company before and had planned to purchase from them again.

The print I received was noticeably grayer, flatter, and lower in contrast than the product image online. The advertised image has warm olive-brown tones and clear definition throughout the sky, horizon, and foreground, while the print I received is so dark and muddy in areas that much of that detail is lost. The standard glazing also creates extremely strong reflections, which makes an already-dark image even more difficult to see.

My biggest frustration, however, has been the customer service. I first contacted the company on July 28 and have repeatedly had to follow up to get responses. Different team members have apologized for the delays and offered to look into solutions, but communication repeatedly stops again. I was open to working with them on several possible resolutions, including a corrected print, framed canvas, or a partial refund so I could replace the glazing locally.

Most recently, on August 20, I was told they would speak with a manager and get back to me the following day with the amount they could refund. As of August 26, I still have not received that follow-up.

I genuinely like the artwork and wanted to find a solution that allowed me to keep and enjoy it. I also understand that problems with an order can happen. What has made this experience so disappointing is how much effort I’ve had to put into simply getting consistent communication and a resolution. After nearly a month of emails and repeated promises to follow up, the issue is still unresolved.

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE COMPANY’S REPLY:

I find the response below frustrating because it leaves out the central issue with my experience. I did not simply decline a replacement that was promptly offered to me. By the time this became the proposed solution, I had already spent weeks trying to get this company to consistently respond to me and resolve the problem. Multiple times they told me nothing appeared to be wrong with the print.

I repeatedly had to follow up after communication stopped, including after being told I would receive further information or a specific refund amount and then hearing nothing. In fact, the difficulty getting a resolution is ultimately why I escalated the matter through my bank in the first place.

I also initially tried to work collaboratively with the company on alternatives and was even willing to pay more for a different format if that would give me the result I originally expected. After weeks of inconsistent communication, however, I no longer wanted to restart the process with another product and potentially go through the same experience again. I compromised on a partial refund instead of a replacement, because I had no confidence they would maintain communication long enough to actually send one.

So no, my decision to keep the artwork rather than accept a replacement was not “confusing.” It was the result of how this complaint had already been handled.

I believe the only reason I got more consistent communication is because I disputed the charge with my bank. Had I not, I believe I would be stuck with a bad print that cost me over $300.

I also think it is relevant to note that after I posted this review, the owner contacted me multiple times asking me to remove it, including asking me to remove it “temporarily” while the matter was still unresolved. At one point, removal of the review was presented alongside a partial-refund option. I declined because I did not believe an accurate review of an unresolved experience should be removed as part of resolving my complaint.

I also found the tone of several of these communications extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. Rather than keeping the discussion focused on resolving the transaction, the owner repeatedly emphasized the financial impact on his small business and made comments such as “hopefully you are not planning to take all the money away from a small business,” “you don’t seem like that kind of person,” and later, “life is pretty tough right now.” I felt these comments placed inappropriate emotional pressure on me over a consumer dispute, particularly after I had already made clear that I was not seeking to keep both the artwork and the full purchase price.

The most disappointing part is that I don’t even have the artwork hanging up in my home. I ultimately replaced it with a $30 mass produced print from Hobby Lobby, which has noticeably better print quality and presentation. Which is unfortunate considering the significant difference in price.

The product is as their company name - they are providing a unique product at a fair price with excellent quality. I ordered the 24 x 36" relief map of the UK and it's just fantastic. The map is on thick paper so has that quality feel to it. We have it hung in our dining room, and I can't stop looking at it. It's a great high-quality product with that hard-to-find uniqueness.

It is refreshing to deal with a small business who work with you to produce a product that is what you want and of excellent quality. They communicate throughout the process and listen ! I shall use again, and again safe in the knowledge I shall not be let down.

This was our second purchase from this company and the ordering process was very easy. There was a small issue with the delivery going astray but as soon as this was reported a replacement was sent out straight away. The quality of the map is first class and I have no qualms in recommending this company to anyone interested in beautiful maps.

I am very satisfied. The map so brightly coloured is hanging on my wall close to an old map of Palestine Railways.

Our custom map looks amazing! The verification process for making sure the customization looked good was easy to use, even on mobile. There was a small hiccup with the order, but they preemptively reached out to me as soon as they discovered the issue with a solution. They've also kept in contact since to make sure I'm happy with the map. My fiancé absolutely loved it, and we have it hanging up in our bedroom with many pins in place for the places we've been to (and hopefully many more new places to come!).

Incredible customer service, had a couple questions and reached out on a Sunday and all of them were answered within minutes. Amazing work!

Misleading delivery promises and very poor customer service…

I needed a map as a gift for my daughter’s wedding. Since I only had 12–13 days before I needed it, I contacted The Unique Maps through their chat to ask whether I could realistically expect delivery in time. The employee assured me that the order would definitely arrive before the wedding, so I went ahead and placed the order.
Then nothing happened for an entire week.
I started to worry that The Unique Maps had promised more than they could deliver, so I sent them an email. Several days passed without any reply. I also tried contacting them through WhatsApp messages and phone calls, but again received no response.
After numerous attempts, I finally got an answer. I was told that the map had been handed over to the courier and that it would arrive in time. More days passed without any update, so I contacted The Unique Maps again to ask for the status of the shipment. They apologized and said that the courier had still not delivered the package, but claimed that this was outside their control.
As a temporary solution, they offered to send me a high-resolution file so I could print the map myself and at least have something to give as a gift. However, the file they sent had their logo embedded all over the map, making it completely unsuitable as a wedding gift.
I then contacted the courier directly. They informed me that they could see a shipment had been created, but that they had not yet received the package from The Unique Maps. So it is hardly surprising that they had been unable to deliver it. In other words, The Unique Maps misled me when they claimed that the delay was caused by the courier.
About three weeks after placing my order — despite the website promising 3–4 days delivery — I finally received the map. The problem was that the wedding had already taken place, and my daughter had already returned to the United States. The map is still lying unopened in its shipping package because I have no use for it anymore. Therefore, I cannot comment on whether the quality of the product is good or bad.
I later contacted customer service and requested a refund. The Unique Maps refused. Instead, they offered me the same amount as store credit, but that is of no value to me. I certainly do not want to buy another map from them.
I wish they had simply been honest from the beginning and told me that they could not guarantee delivery before the wedding.

We are excited about our new custom map of our favorite ski mountain with our condo marked on it. The team was prompt in their communication and design process to make the map exactly the way we wanted it. We had them frame it and are very pleased with the whole process. I highly recommend if you are looking for something special and unique for your home.

I had bought 3 Botanical prints from Unique Maps Co. and had them shipped internationally. The prints are exactly as described and the quality exceeded my expectation. I saw the same prints sold elsewhere but the quality was rubbish. No regrets choosing here!

I had reached out to Dominic and team, a little worry about the shipment since that I had purchased the prints during Christmas season. I needn’t worry at all because true to reassurances given by the team (with prompt follow-ups), the prints were delivered right on time. Best customer service I’ve experienced, ever. Recommended to all new buyers, truly!

Phenomenal maps and they shipped real fast in the time I wanted! Very friendly service when they reached out via email too.

Order never arrived, ignored for two months until I threatened legal action.

I ordered from The Unique Maps Co. and the order never arrived. I contacted support and requested a refund — then heard nothing for two months despite chasing repeatedly.
The only reply I ever got was when I messaged saying I would report them to the authorities. Suddenly someone responded within minutes, explaining that the person handling my order was "on vacation" and that they had all "assumed" I'd received a replacement supposedly sent in mid-May. It never arrived either, and nobody had checked or followed up.
Rather than the refund I asked for, they offered to send yet another replacement. I've now had to invoke Section 75 with my credit card issuer to get my money back.
Whatever the quality of their maps, the fulfilment and customer service are not functioning. Order at your own risk.

Update: The company has publicly replied that a second replacement is "the best solution available." It is not — I requested a refund, which is my statutory right for non-delivery under the Consumer Rights Act, and it has been refused. I have now filed a Section 75 claim with my credit card issuer to recover the payment.

As I move house, again, I find that my desire for beauty and nostalgia stronger than ever. Imagine my absolute delight to find The Unique Map Company. They make available a deep and broad collection of quality prints of which I now own three. Top notch personal communication and reasonable dispatch times will help to solidify their continued success.

I wanted a special gift for my husband to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary (men are so hard to buy for) and The Unique Maps Co really delivered. Communication was fantastic, always very quick and they were very happy for me to keep tweaking my ideas and their map to get exactly what I wanted. The final product looks amazing and is great quality - it is a framed canvas of a UK map from our wedding year with 12 places special to us marked with a numbered dot - and a text box in the corner naming the places and their significance. We both love it! I would not hesitate to recommend the company and product. Thank you Dominic and Sebastian for all your help.

Beautiful map detail, historically accurate, lovely craftsmanship. Company was very responsive and also kept me informed throughout the process.

I had been searching for some time, for an artwork that was a little different to the usual stuff you find. I found that in the lovely 'Karikachi Mountain Pass by Hasui Kawase' print I ordered, although I was spoilt for choice. The print arrived beautifully framed and in very good time. I was kept well informed of any updates and received good communication from The Unique Maps company. I look forward to treating myself to another print again soon.

Couldn’t be more helpful from start to finish. There was no problem in that I wanted to send it to America. I was also able to change the frame colour after ordering. The map was swiftly despatched in America and arrived securely packaged. I was kept informed of the order all the way through the process and highly recommend Unique Maps.
