Do not buy!

Every February we go away either Maldives or Caribbean. This year we thought we would try a new Suncream and spend a little bit more money. In the past we have never burnt with Piz Buin that we use (all family has dark skin). We have had the worst experience ever with Ultrasun. Burnt like we have never ever done before. We had to start putting cream on every 2 hours as didn’t want to buy cream in hotel as was so expensive. In end couldn’t stand it anymore and bought hotel cream. Do not buy this body and face cream!

New formula doesn't protect

I have been a long-term user of ultra sun face products spf 30 and 50, having sensitive skin that reddens easily. l'm extremely disappointed the formula has been changed. It is now thin and oily and no longer offers the protection l associated with this brand. I'm in Lanzarote as l write and it is 20C, so not very hot but my face has burnt for the first time in many years. Ultra sun have lost my trust and l won't be buying again.

Ultraburnt!

I bought this suncream as a sufferer of prickly heat after hearing it was good for sensitive skin and in preventing prickly heat. I reapplied as recommended however after about 2 days large areas of my body became covered in sunburn which only seemed to worsen. The minute I stopped using it and went onto a basic suncream (Nivea) this all seeemd to clear up? Areas such as my neck stomach and thighs which never get burnt were affected. I’ve read other reviews similar to this online, very disappointed as I spent a lot of money on this suncream

Awful

Awful. My daughter burned after an hour with this on. Factor 50 extreme. Never had a worse suncream. Overpriced and does not work

I’m an avid sunscreen user

I’m an avid sunscreen user, I totally understand the risks with chemicals and all that stuff but I also understand the risks of skin cancer as I’ve looked after patients dealing with it.
Trust me, the latter is way worse.
I’ve got through so many sunscreens in my now 51 years. Why so many? I’m a guy so have a beard and most cling to it and also I have very sensitive eyes and most sting the crap out my eyes and make my nose run like a tap.
So when I find one that doesn’t do any of the above I’m ecstatic. I’m a huge fan of Korean skincare and their sunscreens are so elegant. Feel like nothing on the skin which I also hate about most sunscreens. They’re greasy or too thick. Out of a lot ( and I mean a lot) I’ve tried over the years there’s only two that fit the bill for me. Ones Korean and one’s European ( I think) however the Korean one takes forever to arrive and the European one as good as it is can make my skin a little dry. It is targeted for people with oily skin though and I don’t have oily skin. I use it though because it fits what I look for in terms of no eye sting etc.
Anyway, I used ultra sun years ago and I can’t remember if it stung, how it felt etc as it was a long time ago.
I decided to purchase their newer photo age face fluid, I got both the spf 50 and 30. 50 for my hikes and 30 for general daily use.
Well I used the 50 one yesterday and I love it already. I went on a 10 mile hike to really test it out with sweat which is when my eyes normally start to water.
Nothing, no eye sting at all. I also figured for the sake of claims I wouldn’t re-apply and see if it really did protect more than a couple of hours. That also past the test.
I was also surprised at how elegant it was, very much like the Korean sunscreens. It melted into the skin straight away and I didn’t feel like I had anything on, no grease or sticky feeling at all. It left my skin feeling hydrated too pretty much most of the day. And yes….. It also melted into my beard, I did rub it for a few moments but it sunk in and left no white clumps.
So I’m absolutely sold on this.
If I had to pick a fault at all I’d say it’s a little more expensive than I’d usually pay and there is only 40ml in these particular tubes but I’m thinking if I don’t have to re-apply every couple of hours it will last me longer and therefore possibly work out cheaper or at least break even.
I’ll work that one out as I go.
But taking the cost into consideration as that’s my only con as I’m on a tight budget, I’m giving this a 9/10 and the point off is purely only the cost.
So Ultrasun, you’ve hit the nail with this one and I don’t say that about many sunscreens. This could possibly work out as my new favourite one.

Joke company - do not use

They advertise the fact that their products have a shelf life of 3 years , or 2 years after opening, and then send orders of out of date stock !
When I took this up with them to their customer service, evidently there is some research ‘somewhere in HQ’ that they have been told about that says their product has 5 years shelf life! Not the 3 years they advertise everywhere.
Asked for verification of ‘research , dates, source etc’ and no reply .
Scammers - make it up as they go along to mask their lack of stock rotation and customer care .
Give them a miss .

Didn't burn

I ordered factor 30 with tan accelerator. I came home whiter than I ever did after 2 weeks in Cyprus. However it did offer good protection and I didn't get any prickly heat rash
