Poor Service, False AI Accusation, and No Response
Update: I have emailed 2nd March, but still no reply on 17th March
_______________
I took two courses at the same time. The first one was fine. I finished it quickly and received the certificate without any issues.
The nightmare started in the second course. They accused me of using AI to generate my answers and told me to do the work again. The problem is, my course is about infection control and health care, so some questions is about standard things such as risk assessment and hand washing. I read the course materials and answered everything in my own words. I do not understand how that could be considered AI generated.
I tried to argue this with the tutor, but they did not care. Anyways, still redid the work. However, after I redo the work, I received no comments or feedback for a long time. I sent multiple emails and got no response at all. The tutor even told me to report the issue to an email address that does not real.
Created multiple tickets through the support desk, but they are simply cancelled without any reply.
Submitted my work June last year, still no feedback and reply from the tutor
Very disappointing experience. It feels like a scam.

I received all the help I needed and even more. I was able to work on my coursework whenever it suited me, which fit my needs. Thank you, Jemma!

Excellent!
I have just completed the Level 3 Diploma for the Children’s Workforce. At the beginning, it was a bit challenging as I was not used to the system, but once I got used to it, I found it easy and really enjoyed completing each task. The study pack was very useful, and the videos were highly effective. The knowledge that I gained helped me when working in a real setting. My tutor, Kaye helped me whenever I need support and guidance. They informed things as early as possible so that I had time to adjust my schedule accordingly. I' m glad that I chose UK Open College for my studies.
I had a very great and positive…
I had a very great and positive experience with this college.
I completed my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare, and the course was very interesting, informative, and knowledgeable.
My tutor who marked my assignments was extremely kind, supportive, and helpful. Whenever I did not understand any question, she explained it to me patiently, even many times, until I understood properly. I really appreciate her support and guidance.
The other staff members were also polite, cooperative, and helpful.
On one occasion, I accidentally sent the wrong address to my assessor. Although it was my mistake, my assessor kindly helped me resolve the issue quickly after I emailed him, which I truly appreciate.
Whenever I contacted the support team, they always responded on time and helped students in a very professional and caring manner.
Overall, it was a wonderful learning experience. If God gives me another chance to continue my studies in the future, I will definitely choose this college again.
Once again, thank you so much to all the team members, tutors, and staff for your excellent support and guidance.
Level 4 HLTA
I recently completed my Level 4 HLTA Diploma with UK Open College. I loved the self-paced learning as I could complete assignments to my own time scale. My tutor Kaye was absolutely amazing! Work came back marked within the timeframe and always had details of how to improve to ensure I met the criteria.
The only negative I found was some material was outdated but most of the source websites could still be accessed and had relevant, useful information.
I paid for the childcare course
I paid for the childcare course, and made sure I set up a volunteer placement beforehand. After I paid, the opencollege made increasingly unreasonable demands as a way to stall letting me start the lessons I’d paid for. I was asked to provide a picture of the nursery owners marriage certificate, after having provided pictures of her qualifications and her signature.
I feel really let down. The nursery worker at my volunteer placement, said no other college has ever asked for her marriage certificate. I even bought a new laptop for the course. I’m now trying to cancel the payments to the Opencollegeuk.

I enjoyed my L2 Support Work in Schools…
I enjoyed my L2 Support Work in Schools with this UK Open College. Lots of useful theories are provided for each lesson in the Portal, and Penny, my assessor, always corrected my assignments on time and gave very helpful comments and guidance. The Portal itself is not of the best design though! It was complicated to use at first and with sometimes a puzzling way to provide access to the elementary navigation within!
I recommend
I struggled a little at first to understand the system, but once I got the hang of it everything went really smoothly. Jill was extremely helpful and always replied to my questions very quickly. She was flexible and gave me all the information I needed.
For anyone starting their Level 3, I recommend asking early on about which forms and templates to use, and doing the theory tasks first before moving on to the practical ones. The course is also very affordable.
Overall, a really positive experience.
Excellent
This was the second course that I have done with UK Open College and it was a very positive experience. I did the Early Years Practitioner Level 3. The technology has moved on hugely since my first course - easy to use and loaded with help. The tutors are also extremely approachable and helpful (my tutor was Jill). Would 100% recommend.
Not all hero’s wear capes but they do work at UK Open College!
I cannot recommend UK Open College enough! There courses are in depth and well organised, they have a strong structure of support through lesson plans and easy to reach tutors/ admin team and have regular check ins to make reaching out a lot easier!
I applied for university earlier in the year and expected to enrol early September, but after a few complications they needed my certificate within the same week I completed the course, otherwise I would of had to defer a whole year… I cannot express the stress I endured after moving my life to a new city, knowing no one and being far from home all to be told I may not be able to start my course. So I called the team at UK Open College and who other than the wonderful Bill picked up! After listening to my situation, he offered kindness, encouragement and solutions; He said he “couldn’t promise miracles” but he worked with the fabulous Kerry, who worked diligently to ensure I had everything to make it happen and I received my qualification within three days! (Miracle made!) I cannot express my gratitude to you both… if you’re ever up north brews are on me! ❤️

I had a great experience with UK Open College. The course was very informative and assessments were always marked promptly. I needed my certificate in time for another course I was intending on starting and Bill from the support team was very genuine and super helpful in making sure I got it in time.

My experience with my Level 4 HLTA was great.
The course contents and reading materials etc being mapped out with you is very helpful, and my assessor made the experience more manageable
great experience
I had a great experience studying with UK Open College while completing my Level 3 Diploma. The course was well-structured and easy to follow, and my tutor, Jill, was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive throughout. She always provided clear feedback and was quick to respond to any questions I had, which made a big difference in helping me complete the course successfully. I would definitely recommend UK Open College to anyone looking for flexible and high-quality online learning.
HLTA Course Review
I have recently completed my Level 4 HLTA course with UK Open College and couldn't praise them highly enough. The course was mainly self-led but learning resources/recommendations were available and when needed were useful. Having an assessor on hand to send messages to when needed was incredibly helpful, so I would like to give a massive thank you to Jill Matthews for her support. Would definitely recommend the UK Open College!
I enjoyed my L3 Early Years Educator…
I enjoyed my L3 Early Years Educator course immensely. I am a little older, and having changed careers in my early fifties, hadn't studied in quite a while. My tutor, Kaye, was excellent, she made me feel very at ease and was helpful and supportive throughout. The learning platform was easy to navigate too. I found the lessons really informative, but you have to do a lot of your own research too, which wasn't a bad thing. I wouldn't hesitate to do another qualification with them.
Just finished a HLTA course
Just finished a HLTA course. Had a great tutor. She was very approachable and friendly when needed and was understanding when I hit a personal snag but with her help and guidance, I got through it. Brought a month extra, just in case, and only used less than a week of it.
It has been a great way to get this qualification, and have highly recommend it to others already.
I definitely recommend studying with UK open College
Learning with UK open College was great
The admin team were very helpful in getting me enrolled onto my chosen course with ease and when I was on my chosen course, my tutor Jill was very helpful and supportive in guiding me through the assignments and completing the course with ease and understanding.
The course I chose was what I needed and I would recommend enrolling onto a course with the UK open college.
Recently completed HLTA course
Recently completed HLTA course, the course was useful and informative. My assessor was lovely, supportive and helpful and answered all my questions and there were a lot of them! My work was marked quickly which was nice to see your progress increasing. The Laser Learning portal is easy to use and completing the course online was helpful with fitting into my busy life.
Great experience with UK Open College.
I have really enjoyed my level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools course through UK Open College. I have found all staff to be incredibly helpful, from initial enquiries to Bill, to my tutor Kaye and everyone else in-between. The course was packed full of interesting and informative content, and I really enjoyed managing it all in my own time, which has been especially helpful as a mother of 2 young children, as well as working my day to day job. I will be back to complete more courses with UK Open College at some point in the future. Thank you so much!
My tutor Jill Matthews was absolutely…
My tutor Jill Matthews was absolutely brilliant and kind, she was very knowledgeable in her field and without her I wouldn't able to have accomplished my qualifications. Thank you to UK open college for providing this opportunity.
