Great service

Great service. After purchasing an ssl from another provider, only to find out that it came WITHOUT SUPPORT, I went to UKHost4U and purchased another, which was provided and installed, on all of my registered sites, at the same price as the other company! I know which debit card I'll be cancelling before the renewal date! Thank you to John and everyone at UKHost4U.

Excellent

Got them to host my website and e-mail server in 2010 and they have been brilliant. When I had a problem with emails their support was immediate and they were patient and thorough especially dealing with an IT illeterate likeme.
100% recommend them

UKHOST4U is a brilliant service

I have been width UKHOST4U for about 5 years and am totally happy and satisfied with their services and hosting! I design websites and not necessarily being technically competent have had nothing but great support from ukhost.

Good value. Friendly, helpful, professional technical support.

Been a customer for over five years. Excellent value shared hosting packages and a good range of tools to manage your sites. My technical queries have all been resolved quickly and professionally by people who obviously know what they are talking about and are friendly and helpful. Pleased to recommend them.

Constant Downtime and Slow 'generic' Replies to Tickets

Slow response to support tickets, then basic, ' generic' replies that barely even relate to your question - never mind answer it!

Was told that I had free daily backups, until I requested one, at which point I was told that they had not been started (Brill!)

I was a loyal customer of a company that UkH4u bought out, and have had nothing short of a nightmare since. Constant downtime and slow loading, which they try to blame me for. Of course my website has high usage, that is why I took the business package, which still can't even handle 15 visitors at once without giving constant 508 errors.

I'll be glad when I finally get away from here. Wouldn't recommend to anyone!

Good service, but sour note to leave on

I have been a customer with ukhost4u for about 11 years now, and honestly can't fault the service I had.

The uptime and performance of my site was as expected for a basic shared hosting package, but the support was great on hand, sometimes alerting me to problems before I found out about them!

I have recently decided to move to a self hosted platform on the aws structure this week, which has all gone well, except for when I forgot about a couple of databases!

Thinking I could still access my cPanel (my package wasn't due to expire until Feb 12) I tried to log on but got an access denied message. Same for ftp, same for db server.

Frantically panicking I contacted support to see if they could access the databases, only to be told there are no backups of my data from anytime!

Now, it is my fault that I didn't backup the database, and naive of me to think my package wouldn't be terminated within 24 hours, but I dread to think what would happen if I was still a customer knowing I couldn't get restored from a backup. For the 11 years as a customer I have paid for the 24hour support, but feel it may have been worthless.

Tl;dr: good company for basic hosting, but back up stuff your important stuff as you can't rely on them.

Extremely unprofessional

My emails tend to get lost somewhere and never reach their intended destination. I was told that this problem should be sorted out once you have have changed your IP addresses but even after I was notified that the IP addresses were replaced, the problem is still ongoing.

Very bad up time

I host several sites under ukhost4u and almost every day my sites are either brought to a grinding slow down or stop working altogether.

Contacting customer support almost every week reveals that apparently the server they have placed me on is being hacked almost every day causing the slowdown, they suggested i ask an engineer to be moved to another server however after contacting one i was told this was not possible even if i were to recreate my sites from scratch.

I'm also on a package that guarantees no downtime so this really is ridiculous.

I am very sorry about your negative experience. All our servers were upgraded and replaced during 2018 and our uptime is back to 100%. This was a legacy issue and was resolved by a major technology investment.

Patient and helpful

Having lost all computer and banking details and access to my site I am receiving excellent, immediate and sympathetic attention to sort my problem. I will add a 5 star when we achieve access!

Exasperated

Hard to get action when a "Sr. Account Coordinator"
replies to a Ticket that I shoud log in to their system
using my email to reset my password ??? when my ticket clearly
states that their system does not reognise my email

Very understanding of our website requirements

In short, we needed to upgrade our company website due to the heavy load on the server. Rather than just pushing us in to a top package aka a dedicated server I was duly advised of all the options and what was the best route to take in the first instance. The migration of our website from the old server to the new was so seamless we didn't even noticed it being done. 10/10 all round and definitely recommended.
