Lets count the ways the recent enforced update on Match and Ourtime has rendered both platforms unusable.
1 - Discover pages frequently fail to load, often displaying a completely blank screen.
2 - Core profile data is altered without consent. My location has been changed to Alaska and my height reduced to 2'8".
When corrected these settings regularly revert. This likely explains why I am now receiving likes from all over the world.
3 - Filters are repeatedly reset. I restore them only to find they've been changed again the next time I log in.
4 - Paid subscription benefits appear and disappear at random, despite an active subscription.
5 - Previously blocked users have been reinstated without authorisation. One user I blocked for sexually inappropriate behaviour in chat was able to reappear and like my profile again. This is not a cosmetic bug. It's a safeguarding failure.
6 - I cannot block a profile on the mobile app. Desktop only.
*Correction - it works on random profiles. On others it opens their photo gallery.
7 - The option to suspend an account has been removed. In it's place is a monetised visible/invisible toggle that you need an active subscription for. The only alternative is full account deletion. This has been confirmed by "customer (non)care". I know of users who previously suspended their accounts without realising recurring subscriptions continued, and were billed again when their current subscription ended. Total deletion of the account gives them no way to easily rectify that.
With no way to remove a profile, short of full deletion, there will be many more Inactive profiles on the site. Well played Meetic/Match/Ourtime... well played!
8 - On Wednesday 28th January, ONE FULL WEEK after the app update, I was locked out of both Match and Ourtime.
I got access via the laptop to find all my filters and my own location and height had been altered AGAIN! This after being assured by Customer (non)Care that everything was now running smoothly and I could now get back to enjoying all that Match had to offer. The irony. A site full of inactive or fake/scam profiles that has been downgraded while monetisation has been upgraded.
The age of online dating is dead.
I think I'll just get a cat.
Shame on Match/Ourtime/Meetic for prioritising profit over functionality, user control and basic safety.
It's becoming increasingly clear that this update was designed to drive revenue, not improve user experience.
That decision might come back to bite you.
Terrible app and customer service
As other reviewers have said, this is a TERRIBLE platform that has got even worse since the recent upgrade. There were a set of prompt questions that I answered when I signed up - they’ve now changed the prompt questions but there’s no way to change your answers, meaning they no longer makes sense, which makes you look like an idiot to anyone who doesn’t understand the issue. All my suggested matches are in Alaska (I’m in the UK)! Customer service is non existent. My advice would be to stick to Bumble! This was a total waste of money.
A Scammer’s Paradise
Appalling attitude to their customers. If I was in any doubt about match treating their customers with total contempt, I’m not now. The site is totally overrun by scammers who operate with total impunity. No matter how many times they get blocked they just return minutes later. I’ve got no doubt that match actually encourages them, and more so, needs them in order to create the illusion that the site is full of glamorous people. I’ve reported it to match several times, but they have NEVER responded. And as for this latest update, well, I can’t use it like before. I get loads of alerts, but when on the odd occasions I can access the new app, there’s nothing showing. Honestly, can match get any worse. I’ll be contacting Apple Pay for a refund for the remainder of my subscription. Absolutely, no way will I ever use match or any of its affiliated services again. They’re playing us for fools. Thank goodness Match Group doesn’t own Amazon!
From bad to worse
Match was not the best user experience due to the number of fake profiles however the voice and video call features were useful. Since the recent update changes the experience is terrible, nothing works properly! The calling features have gone. It’s a down grade!

A disastrous update
After having to renew my password as it was deemed now to be too short I was able to access the site only to find i now lived in Anchorage, Alaska and had srunk from 6' to 2'11". The whole update is a total disaster, after the last update it was not the best but now it seems to have so many obstacles and is not so free flowing. I was under the impression that updates were done to make the site more easy to navigate for the user, but is certainly not the case here.
If it is not broke do not try to fix it.

Also the latest update on the App is so different and you cant see who has liked you or any messages that come through. It says I have 4 new matches but can only see old ones

The gentleman was everything I had been looking for, to find out a few weeks of talking he was not but a scammer. Very disappointed to say the least. But my complaint was that you are unable to speak to someone at match on the phone they keep asking for money to make the call which I am not going to. Just as well I paid via Google pay so can raise a dispute for a service not received.
Remember folks that similar regulations in the UK apply to Internet services as if you was buying physical goods so you can legally request refunds if a service is not provided for or at a stranded as to what was expected or promised.
Speak with your wallet as I will, sometimes big companies only pay attention when they loose money.

UNBELIEVABLY INCOMPETENT SWINDLERS
Talk about taking a wrecking ball to the site. Utterly useless. Can't see ANY profiles with a search (apparently there's no profiles within 100 miles of me). My height is now 2ft 8, which is the maximum allowed, and have absolutely no access to cancel my subscription.
The site was down for almost an entire day so they could make an entire shambles of the upgrade, and the absolute incompetence of these swindling morons is beyond belief.
An American company that has all the integrity and sense of fair play of its president.

Nightmare website
The Match.com website is a nightmare to navigate. I have tried to cancel the auto renewal but it doesn’t allow me to do it from my I phone or iPad. All you get when you try to contact their customer care department is an auto generated message, the information they provide doesn’t work. I would think twice before signing up again. They make it very difficult to cancel!

I actually would have given Match a four star review until update Jan’26.
Everything about it now is messy and unprofessional.
It looks like a ten year old has reorganised everything !!!!
My photos are all misaligned, and can’t fix this ! New update is supposed to contain bug fixes, but it has actually included bugs … pop up prompts for subscription, when I have another 6 months. Girls profiles are hard to view.
The whole layout is messy and not user friendly.

Apparently they shut the website down yesterday without telling anyone in advance. A new version has replaced it wiping out all my search criteria, messages take forever to appear, and when they do you can't access to read the rest of it. I can't log in through my laptop, it states there is a problem with your account please contact match. However I can get on the updated app on my phone. Switching pages takes forever often saying the page cannot be viewed. Just logged on again 12.10pm and nothing is working
Also, (when it was working) they need to tell you who aren't paying members as they can't reply to your message.
AND every other profile swiped in is fake, and these appear to have been created by chat gpt. And nearly all these profiles, in their bio states "want kids: not sure" really? In their 50s when they look 20 odd. Surely they have programs that can detect this?
Awful customer service
Awful customer service, you can’t talk to anyone. The app cut me off and stopped working while I was in conversation with someone. That was yesterday still can’t contact that person. I downloaded updated version and discovered people had contacted me I knew nothing about!! Complete waste if your money.
