poor service impossible to stop your subscription's once they have your account details they just keep charging you don t do it
I want to stop my membership renewal…
I want to stop my membership renewal which is due in Feb. 2026 but it seems impossible, match makes it so easy to subscribe and add "extras", but trying to cancel subscription renewal seems almost impossible. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR FROM A HUGE COMPANY. THANK YOU BBC FOR YOUR REVEALING PROGRAMME YESTERDAY.
More transparent than the worst but…
More transparent than the worst but still awful. You pay for subscription to be told then that you should upgrade further. Mostly for window shoppers. Lacks authenticity, originality & soul.
No way of cancelling payment
Not been able to access the app or website for several months now yet they are still taking payment as I have no way of cancelling it. Had to request the payment to be blocked via my bank. There is no way of contacting support or cancelling. Ridiculous.
Match.com has definitely gone downhill…
Match.com has definitely gone downhill since I first tried using it around 15 years ago. My main gripe is regarding the subscription. I signed up for what I thought was a half price monthly subscription of £9.90 only to find that I was also being billed for something called Our Time for £9.99 SOMETHING I HAD NOT KNOWINGLY SIGNED UP FOR. Like others on Trust Pilot I have found contacting customer services to query this impossible. And like others, details about my account seem to conveniently buffer when I try to find a breakdown of this. It's as if Match.com no longer cares about their reputation, and are just stealing as much money as they can before they will probably implode with those who own the company assets probably disappearing to some Tax haven. I don't usually use this word lightly but I believe that sadly Match.com is now a scam site and company, especially after reading the other reviews, and my feeling is to cut my losses and to contact my bank to hopefully prevent Match from taking any further payments from me. It may be that I will have to cancel my current credit card, as I don't trust Match with my financial details. On reading other reviews it seems that attempting to contact actual customer service regarding payments is a waste of time so it seems my next step is to contact my bank.
I note that others have said they are taking legal action. I really hope that they succeed, and that there are some jail terms for fraud that come out of their efforts. Although I have a nasty feeling that those responsible are probably far beyond the reach of the law.
So if like me you have previously used Match.Com and are thinking of signing up again, please don't. It is not trustworthy or what it used to be. As well as the financial impropriety I really don't like the new layout compared to how it was. Is designed more like Tinder and the reason I wanted something like match was that I was looking to meet others who hopefully wanted something a bit more serious. Now this is not really Match's fault but it seems a lot of the men on match don't seem to have got the memo as to how to approach women online. This is a Trust Pilot review of the men on online dating sites! Get a lot of idiotic approaches such as 'You are absolutely gorgeous xx' or 'Hello beautiful xx' How about a bit of respect? I would rather a man opened by talking about the weather or....and I know that this is probably a radical idea. Discussing something that women had written in their profile!! Now of course it would mean that men would have to actually read the woman's profile and I understand that may be a big ask. But is far better then this aimlessly posting 'Hi Babe xx' in the hope that some mud will stick...although there are some women for whom this approach may have success, however they tend to be on the search of men to shepherd onto their Only Fans site.
And NO real women are not looking for a 6ft 6 millionaire handsome man who looks like a male model. WHAT WOMEN WANT IS SOMEONE WHO WILL TREAT THEM LIKE A HUMAN BEING!!!! Yes a radical idea for some men. We just want someone who yes who takes care of themself, clean tidy and presentable but does not have to have chiseled good looks or designer cloths or be the director of a multinational company. Someone kind, friendly, nice, normal and natural with no addictions or weird fetishes. Unfortunately this type of man gets snapped up very quickly by discerning women! Unfortunately Match.com does not seem to be a dating site conducive to finding such a man!
Don't get robbed by thieves
I am writing to formally dispute a significant overcharge on my account. The current company policy that requires customers to exclusively use email for resolving sensitive financial matters, and which consistently denies appropriate refunds, is unacceptable and appears to be a deliberate effort to avoid accountability.
You are knowingly operating under a policy that exploits customer funds.
I demand a full review of this charge and a clear explanation for why this overcharge occurred. If this issue is not resolved with a full refund, I will be compelled to escalate this matter by filing formal complaints with regulatory bodies and publishing a detailed account of this exploitative practice across all available consumer review platforms, including Google and Trustpilot, to protect other consumers.
Andy disgruntled user
Full of fake profiles also used card details so our time could take money from my account without permission, seems there just a rip off
Poor experience, nearly scammed
I joined this site 5 days ago and yes, I have been on it before back in 2023. I thought let's see if things have improved and well I hate to say it but you are better being with the main apps as a lot of the lesser known sites/apps run by countless number of companies around the globe are largely fake and scammer's playgrounds or worse, fantasy chat services with no chance of meeting anyone real.
Match Group owns a lot of the main apps including Tinder and obviously match.com.
You can verify yourself on Match.com, usually via selfie photo verification and I do that. However, far too many do not.
I was contacted by a user in "Manchester" and she seemed real sending me an "invitation" to chat and we chatted for a bit. She was not verified so that was always in the back of my mind (don't give out personal info etc/clues) And then bang, asks to take chat to Whatsapp or swap tel numbers. So I blocked her as additional to that, a few things just did not sound right, in fact sounded more like that from someone as a scammer.
So made me think and reported it to Customer Services. You sign up to many companies and have to verify yourself, like say Banks, you need to prove your identity, so why should I pay money to these companies who put me at risk of being scammed and are not serious about security of the genuine people on the site.
I asked them and they replied:"I understand your concern, and I am sorry to hear that this has happened.
Our members’ safety is our top priority, and we aim to create a safe and friendly environment for all users.
We have immediately alerted our monitoring team of the situation. Please note that due to client confidentiality, we cannot advise you of the steps taken in relation to any members who have been reported.
Be assured that every reported profile will be thoroughly investigated by our moderation team to ensure that the member's actions are in keeping with the spirit of our service.
If in the future, you are concerned about the actions or motivations of another member, please report the profile to our moderation team:
- On the member’s profile: click the three dots on the right of the screen and follow the instructions. - Or by clicking on the three dots at the top of the message.
I would like to inform you that we always recommend our member to verify their profile, but we appreciate all comments and suggestions from our members, as we feel they are essential for the improvement of the services we offer.
I have passed your email regarding this onto our development team, so it can be taken into consideration.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us."
So that is it, probably will go absolutely nowhere, because why would they, they would not get as many members to sign up if everyone had to proof their identity to be on the site. Money talks over safety.
Well, in that case, 1/5 again Match.com. Poor experience, too many scammers on there hiding just waiting to prey. It is about time these dating apps stepped up and made this far more secure for people looking for a connection and less about a numbers/money game.
Full of scammers
I've been on the platform for a week now and all I've had contact me are Scammers. Please avoid and look elsewhere. I will cancel at the end of this month

Dreadful dating site and a waste of money
What a dreadful site and a total ripoff, joined as a single senior gay man and you end up getting senior ladies, plus you try and filter your search to your area and preference and still it gets it wrong. Complete waste of time and money you’re better off throwing a piece of paper out in the street and see what you get back at least it’s honest.
They make it difficult for you to…
They make it difficult for you to delete ypur account
To many fake accounts
To many fake accounts also to expensive won't be renewing pass
I want my profile deleted
I have asked for my profile to be deleted several times now I have even deleted it myself several times but you have still kept my information on there and I'm wondering how many other profiles you are doing the same thing with. You are breaching data protection as I do lot want my information or photo on your website
If my profile is not confirmed as deleted inclusive of my photo I will be taking further action.
Don't join! They've stolen a month's membership from me!
I joined just for 1 month to see how things went and after not meeting anyone I liked I decided to have a go at cancelling my subscription the day BEFORE it was due. However, I was unable to do this on my phone as the settings section didn't have the facility to do this, contrary to what they claimed you could do. So, I tried on my laptop but the stupid system wouldn't allow me to log onto my account! It appears to have all been cleverly engineered to prevent me from unsubscribing/cancelling my membership so they can still take money from me! Outrageous blatant theft! In fact, to add insult to injury, they took money out of my account TWO DAYS BEFORE they were supposed to! Again, theft/in breach of standard financial regulations! I'm still waiting for their email replies to reimburse me, hence me writing this bad review now. I'll also be reporting it to Trading Standards and Action Fraud bodies
Day light robbers!!!
Not even one star but had to put a rate to let me write a review! Apparently this company is owned by Meetic and it’s nigh on impossible to cancel a subscription or get in touch with customer service!!
Don’t create a profile
Don’t create a profile! Full of fake profiles. Paid for a week, liked someone and send a message. No reaction. Paid for the 2nd week and this person game suddenly online. But not visiting my profile or reading my message. I think they put a timer on the online apearing of your liked person. How can you excist like this ! Disgusting.
