Australia and Israel, bound by a common racism against indigenous peoples of colour
Australia has declared that the ten million dollars it gives Palestine every year has now been terminated (Ref: Telesur article). This coincides with Israel's new law which effectively steals millions of dollars of Palestinian social fund money each year whilst Israel continues to steal more and more of the Palestinians' homeland. It also follows the ongoing massacre of unarmed Palestinians by the racist state of Israel with a body count now at 135 and 15 000 maimed and injured.
It's bad enough that the indigenous peoples of Australia - the Aborigines - have had their homeland stolen and been treated like Auchwitz inmates by the Australian government for centuries. But to penalise an already brutalised people thousands of miles away who have had their homes, lands and livelihoods decimated by Israel's racist regime is a shame that Australia will never be able to hide or justify. Australia's endemic racism is now what binds it inextricably to Israel.
