Don’t bank on it waste of time
Don’t bank on it waste of time, paid for a course and nothing like what I expected poor quality material and they refused to give me my refund. I would never recommend it to anyone
Concerning Pattern of Course Removals on Udemy
Lately, many instructors including long-time contributors with well-rated courses have reported sudden course removals from Udemy without clear explanation or warning. In some cases, content was flagged for “low quality” or “minimal human involvement,” even when instructors provided strong evidence of original, manually created materials.
This appears to be part of a broader internal “clean-up” process, but it’s happening with little transparency, no clear appeals process, and sometimes even mistaken course attributions. For creators who rely on Udemy as a full-time income source, this has been devastating.
It’s a worrying sign for the instructor community. If you’re considering building your livelihood on Udemy, proceed with caution your content can be taken down without much recourse.
Courses are dreadful, customer support simply idiotic
Courses are dreadful. Course descriptions are fake and are not what is delivered on the course, so it's impossible to even find a course that could be suitable to what you actually searched and filtered for. Free courses appear as just a plug for a particular piece of software, something which they don't tell you anywhere in the course description. Customer support is abominable - staffed by incompetent individuals who either can't, or refuse, to understand basic English and the questions being put to them. Requests for manager intervention are ignored and they have no complaints procedure at all.
Can´t buy courses
I´ll change my review if y´all fix this, but this is the 3rd time that I´ve tried to buy a course on your site, and it hasn´t worked. I have no issues buying on amazon, or any other site - just yours. I want ways to improve my Spanish, but for some reason I always get an error message when trying to buy the course. That makes your site seem more like a scam, to be honest.

I was quite happy untill all my paid courses disappeared = waste of money!
Stay away - it's fraud.
Very slow video playback!
Honestly, the video playback is incredibly slow. It’s hard to believe how unresponsive and unpolished the platform feels. Sometimes it takes almost 30 minutes just to load a previous lecture — super frustrating.
On top of that, they’ve disabled basic keyboard controls like pause and play, which makes the experience even worse. Feels like they’re not even thinking about the user at all.
Really disappointing.
Courses are okay but be aware if you…
Courses are okay but be aware if you don't like the course they will provide a credit and NOT a refund. I also think their advertising is false as courses are always on sale so the full price is not really what they plan to sell it for.
Udemy has change the way to login via 6…
Udemy has change the way to login via 6 digit code instead my password and is impossible to login. This 6 digit code came after a lot of time and cannot use them. After a time the code didn't come at all. today I tried an our to login without succes. I paid for this courses and I am not allowed to see them. This is real burglar behavior. I know it will be time consuming for me but I will take legal action against Udemy.
Dismal Customer Care
Customer Care at Udemy has really gone downhill. Udemy sent me an email offering me 80% discount on certain courses. I put 3 of these courses in my Cart. I applied their supplied Promo Code. And the discount ended up being 61%.
I used their new Contact button. And got a series of useless questions by a remote assistant, getting nowhere. Eventually, I was connected to a real person who could give me no useful advice. Obviously, there is a technical fault but Udemy could do nothing to rectify it.
They have a new system, trying to save money, no doubt. And by the way, I tried to make a complaint to them but this is also impossible to do.
I purchased a course on Udemy called…
I purchased a course on Udemy called "The Complete IELTS Course (General) | Band 7+ | 2024 Update", but I found it wasn’t suitable for my current level.
I only watched about 3% of the content, and I’m still within the 30-day refund period. However, the platform won’t allow me to request a refund, and I’ve tried everything — the chatbot doesn’t help, there’s no human support, and even my email to udemy.com has been ignored so far.
I also reached out via Twitter and received no response.
This experience has been frustrating, especially when trying to get help before the refund window closes. I hope Udemy will see this and resolve the issue by issuing a refund.
All I want is fair treatment and a proper response.
Difficult experience because of the video player.
The core component, the video player does not properly render the videos, often buffers and is a waste of time for learning purposes. There is no function to select video quality on mobile. Generally i have had a bad experience trying to learn with Udemy. More frustrating is, this issue appears to have been going on for years, according to comment in social media threads and stuff. Don't pay for faulty and unfinished software.
no transparency about real sale and…
no transparency about real sale and price the most income is for them .
They dont provide what they say they will
I purchased a training course from them. They have disabled my ID without providing an adequate explanation as to why they have done it. This has removed my access to the training, and they will not provide a refund or any other remediation option. They took my money and ran.
There are much better alternatives
There are much better alternatives. Youtube and Coursera are free for example. Paid ones like Skillshare and MasterClass are simply better. Horible experience on the site really. Only use it because I have some overpaid courses on it.
I've taken some great courses here!
I've taken some great courses here!
Like most places, you have to check on the course reviews, look at some of the preview lessons and see if it's giving you what you're looking for. I've been very pleased with the some of the instructors of the course that I purchased and it's helped me a lot with my career staying up to date with current techniques and software.
I was at work-course ran by mistake, no real help from support
I was at work-course ran by mistake, no real help from support
I bought a course today and it started playing on the Udemy app while I was at work. I didn’t realize it was running in the background, and now the system says I watched too much to get a refund.
The course isn’t what I expected at all — I can’t listen to the instructor’s voice, and it doesn’t teach actual soap making.
I’ve tried to get help through the chatbot but it won’t let me speak to a human. I just want a real person to hear me out and issue a refund. This feels very unfair
100+ course DELETED they are a scam now.
I would give zero stars. But can’t. I login today to do a refresh on some courses and literaly ALL MY PURCHASED COURSES are deleted. My entire account basically deleted. They keep repeating like monkeys “give me price and payment and bla bla bla. Dude u can find all info with my email. I been purchasing courses in Udemy for years we are talking about thousands of dollars GONE. Now they claim my account is “new” and no courses exists. I feel like the new direction they took is scammy. use my became a scammy indian site now. deleting customers account and entire purchases. How the heck I’m suppose to remmeber which course I paid with which credit card ???? It’s been years and years of purchases. Now I don’t have a single one. I AM NEVER USING THIS SCAMMY SITE AND IMMA MAKE AURE EVERYONE KNOWS APBUT THEIR SCAMMY TACTICS.
Unethical process setup to encourage purchase more above using already what you purchased.
I found there are "tricks" that stop you from using what you already purchased, and force you more to purchase unethically.
For example:
When I search GraalVM on the courses to purchase I get the course: Java Native Compiler in depth.
However, when I search the same under my courses it seems not to be appearing.
This is a serious issue as the courses already purchased aren't able to be looked up and utilised.
Udemy allows businesses to swear at customers.
I left an honest review on Philakone trading course and he replied to me, "Get f#cked."
Udemy has done nothing, even after I've contacted them several times over the years. Udemy has left this comment as well as continuing to allow Philakone to sell his courses.
Udemy clearly cares far more about the businesses than they do about their customers.
Missing but Paid for Courses?
I purchased courses totaling $93.22, which were charged and posted to my credit card on April 30, 2025. Now, Udemy has no record of the payment. My courses are "missing." They have no record of the purchase. I think this organization has just stolen my money. My advice: buyer beware!
