The low stars speak for themselves.

As a mature student with disabilities, I have had awful treatment by this company. I had told UCAS in webchat that I get very overwhelmed but they insisted that I had to resolve a technical error, my side. One operator could not even understand plain English and gave me the wrong information for a different issue. Later, I made a phone call to UCAS even though I find this very difficult due to autism. The woman I spoke to kept interrupting me and I had to ask her twice to let me finish speaking. She just wanted to dictate rather than actually listen and was like an overbearing mother. When I asked her not to interrupt again as it was rude and unprofessional, she then terminated the call. UCAS have not even responded to my complaint about this woman which suggests they think speaking to anyone in such a way is fine. Clearly, they have no desire to improve or even follow the Equality Act of 2010 judging by their low star rating! It's a shame that this is the only place we can go to make university applications.

Should be 0 stars

Should be 0 stars. UCAS is the biggest scam. Firstly it is the ONLY option when applying to university because using literally anything else is too hard apparently. Secondly you need to input all of your person data INCLUDING bank details and then send that to a third party (MASSIVE RED FLAG) do not do this!!!!! And if that’s not bad enough, you make one tiny mistake which your gonna do since the application is about 100 pages and your only human and that’s it £25 gone down the drain and you cannot reapply for the same entry period twice so it is basically impossible to apply to university in the UK because UCAS forces it to be that way.

When it comes to applying to…

When it comes to applying to conservatoires, UCAS is extremely unhelpful as it doesn't show the courses/schools when searched when I am suppose to apply to them through the platform. It makes me stressed as I feel I won't be able to apply at all as it doesn't let me.

Just more bloat that you have to pay to…

Just more bloat that you have to pay to use that has never been needed but now somehow needs to be used for quite a few course but not all, so double check where you are applying and try to get around this ablest and classist horror.

Very Good customer service

Just had a call with “Joseph” from UCAS. Only had a minor thing to discuss and sort out but he was incredibly friendly and did everything as the textbook would have wanted. 5/5 and got straight through, no hold time.

Website is appalling

Website is appalling, doesn't work, not fit for purpose and they will happily acknowledge this. It's a scandal that this organisation represents the U.K.'s best college and universities and over 50,000 courses with this utter shoddiness. They do our countries education system and the poor students that have to use it a complete disservice. We expect more and so should they.

Spam marketers

First contact from them is marketing, the service has been highjacked as a vehicle for business marketing, trying to sell phone sims and other junk.

Zero Star - Why do we have UCAS?

First time experience with UCAS and I HATE it!
I have been told that they did not receive the update from University and that university needs to call them! University is saying they don't have bandwidth or resources to call UCAS! So no one wants to speak with anyone and in the meantime we can't do anything with our application!! The whole system and process is nonsensical and everyone we are speaking with comes across as full of words, no action - lazy! For international students I suggest study in a country where there is support for students and the systems aren't broken!

Not happy

Good morning I've been giving it a lot of thought, and I've come to the decision that I would like to substitute my year for university. I believe that taking a foundation year would provide me with valuable experiences and opportunities for personal growth. During this time, I plan to explore different cultures, gain real-world work experience, and maybe even volunteer abroad. I truly believe that this break from traditional education will help me develop a broader perspective and enhance my overall skills and knowledge.

Systematic errors

NO

I don’t even think they bothered to read my applications, and although the promises were optimistic thereafter, everything was lost with them.

They took so long that the courses were no longer accepting, they turned down applications that were accepted privately by the college, and made excuses, they lost applications, and made me apply twice only to be ignored… I think it’s just computer-generated nonsense. Every single one I had to chase up and they hadn’t even bothered. Applications weren’t even in the inboxes of the establishments! Serious systematic errors!

If you want my advice… Go straight to the college/uni, speak to the staff personally, and apply privately.

Don’t let UCAS get your hopes up and then waste your time

Appalling and disappointing. Robot!

Avoid disappointment, go straight to the tutors and faculty

Thanks for taking the time to send this feedback – we're sorry to hear of the experiences you described.

Please be assured that all applications that are submitted through the UCAS website are automatically processed and made available to your chosen universities for their consideration.

If you’d like us to do that, please send an email to CASadmin@ucas.ac.uk along with your full name, date of birth and UCAS ID number, if you have it. A brief description of the problem you have encountered would also be useful.

I have spoken to UCAS twice so far this year. Both times I found them rude and totally disinterested.
Really disappointing service.
As usual you expect more support from those who take a job to do exactly that.
