Brought my iPod Touch with a broken charging port. I waited 5 minutes and they brought it back, fixed. They were friendly, professional and damn quick. The store I went to is the Greenfield Park (Tascheresau Boulevard) store and I will definitely go back when I need electronic items fixed.

Angry

Back in October 17,2022, I communicated with the owner of the Dalhousie St. (Ottawa Ontario) location requesting that my charge port on my cell phone be fixed. I was told it could be done, I could buy a no name port it may or may not last or an actual LG port at a larger cost will last 2 yrs. I sent a deposit for the LG part... here's what went on....

I wrote....So I spoke with my husband and we both agree that the $149.00 for the actual LG port is better option;
As I said though my Daughter is in the hospital right now, and between the Chemotherapy, radiation and palliative care appointments I'm sitting vigile at her bedside so it's a matter of trying to figure out a good time to drop off the phone - we're looking to sooner than later
He wrote
I will order the part now and update you when it arrives. At that point in time we can schedule the repair to be done AS QUICK AS POSISBLE. If you wouldn't mind please send in a deposit via etransfer of 35$ We can order the part as soon as the deposit arrives.
I requested a quote
He wrote
No worries. It's $149.99, includes labor. Taxes are extra. I sent the deposit and was told Part is ordered. Should arrive for tomorrow or the day after.

I messaged Oct 21,
as I hadn't heard anything after sending the deposit, I received and asked if the part arrived?
He wrote
Hi, yes it has. We are ready to do the repair for you tomorrow.

I answered
What time slots are available for day Monday or Tuesday?

He answered
Please don't even worry about the repair. Come in whenever you want. Doesn't matter. You pick and choose.

I went down, was told he was unable to fix my phone as he's in a meeting as someone was trying to buy out his company could I come back? I felt bad and said of course.
I went back Nov 15,22...my Daughter had lost her torturous battle to Cancer the week before. I waited over an hour and half, they said they fixed it, but my phone had no data? I said that was impossible as I literally just used it in the waiting room. They decided that the part was defective and they'd have to order a new one.
I touched base Nov 30, Dec 03 and Dec 04, asking if my part came in yet...
Finally December 22, I wrote Good evening, I've been patient and have waited a very long time since October 17th to get my phone fixed, can I please just get a refund

He wrote
Hi Ofcourse. We are closed for the next little while.
Please send me your email address and we will refund you immediately. Sorry about that, this fell through the cracks.

I did....so far no refund!!!

RIP OFF!!!

RIP OFF!!!! I brought my kids iPad there for a new glass screen. Almost two weeks and $180 it was done.
1st off they said the fingerprint would no longer work?
2nd they said I should buy another screen protector for it.
I ordered a glass screen protector and when I was opening the iPad from home button the entire screen spidered in my hand and broke!!! When I called them to get addressed I asked what hardness glass they were using and if to Apple spec and was not given any reason to believe otherwise they use the cheapest lowest grade replacement glass. If you have an Apple product please don’t use this place do yourself a favor and go to an Apple Store. I break u fix is a fraud, a sham, rip off artists. You would have to be a complete idiot to use them after reading this review.

You take. They break. They lie. They don't fix.

Product: Samsung Z-Fold 3
Situation (10am-6:30pm): Took phone in for warranty repair and approval with ticket number from manufacturer. Left phone with manager with both screens working and a couple pixels missing on inside screen. After going back three times, making 4 calls to the manufacturer (one call on speaker phone while inside store with manager, Samsung rep and me) I received my phone back with pixels still missing on inside screen and now outside screen not working. The technician broke my outside screen. While the inside screen pixel issue was covered under warranty, I was asked for my credit card to pay for outside screen that they broke before manager would give me my phone. I didn't give manager my credit card and manager 'un-repaired' my phone before giving it back. Had to mail phone to manufacturer for repair for free, because it was approved to be covered under warranty. Samsung was great and handled me with the quality service any customer deserves, while uBreakiFix offered contrary service. While the manager's tone remained calm, what the manager said and did was different each of the three times I went into the store.

Other details - Before my visit to uBreakiFix, I visited my local AT&T store, verified phone's manufacturer's warranty was still active and insurance claim was not necessary at this time. Called Samsung, confirmed condition of phone and that warranty covered issue, received ticket number and referred to two uBreakiFix locations nearest me. I chose the closest location - Spartanburg. I stopped by Spartanburg location to confirm that the part was in the night before and the store representative inspected my phone. I told him I'd return the next day for the warranty repair. In addition, the Samsung rep confirmed the part was to be mailed to the location and provided me the ticket number for the warranty repair. I was first person there at 10 am and the store manager checked me in and communicated with me most of the process.

Protocol broken: Manager asked for my phone's access code and did not offer factory reset. Manager never provided me with a repair ticket after taking my phone back for warranty repair. Manager said Samsung only covers one repair during the warranty period. After breaking the outside screen on my phone, I now have two issues with my phone. I went to another uBreakiFix in the area to confirm protocol and found that the manager in fact broke several protocols noted above. I spoke with several manufacturer representatives and confirmed protocol was indeed broken.

I can only review this location and based on my experience, I would not recommend this place to anyone. After reading other reviews it appears to be a consistent theme and changing the name of uBreakiFix does not change their practices and level of service. I can only imagine how much it costs the manufacturers because of mistakes and breaks their 'Authorized Technicians' make.

Broken components during repair

Conclusion:
If your device's brand has official store (eg. Apple), go there or go to another repair store. Don't go to any uBreakiFix locations to avoid the hassle.

My experience:
My iPad 7 had a broken glass, other than that, my device was like-new with no scratch and all functions normal. I brought my device to the Bonaventure store at H3B4W5.

When I went to pick up my device, they stated that everything went perfectly and my device was repaired. But a quick test by me shows that the TouchID was missing. Only after I found this out did they say that they damaged the module during repair and could give me a C$50 discount, which is unacceptable because that's an at-least C$400 worth of damage. (You have to change the motherboard to get TouchID back, and a used iPad 7 motherboard alone costs C$350.) When I said that I really want TouchID, they brought out the broken piece and said they'll try to fix the module. And it's been three weeks, I have heard nothing from them. They did say it'll take at max a week. Seems like they are hoping me to forget about all these.

Plus, I later found out there's a deep 5mm-long cut on the back of my device, a visible piece of dirt inside my screen(between the glass and the LCD), they didn't tell me about that either. Also, the glass they replaced doesn't have a anti-fingerprint layer which the original apple screen has, as a result, the screen becomes very nasty after a slight amount of use.

One and a half week past the incident, I don't think the store will contact me and I contacted their official support, one of the managers there did call me and said they either fix the TouchID or give me a replacement, all I have to do is to wait for a call from the store. As expected, the call never came. Another week past, I emailed the support again, and they said I'll receive a call later that day, again, no calls.

At this point, I don't think this is going to progress anymore and the last thing I can do is to let you guys know.

Fixed the problem, reasonable price

Four month old HP desktop working fine until a Microsoft auto update led to a BSOD locked in an endless restart loop. After three days of inability to get into safe mode I took it to uBreak in Lexington SC. They eventually had to wipe the drive and reinstall the OS. Cost $99, ready in less than 24 hours.

VERY DISPLEASED!!!

VERY DISPLEASED!!!! Phones don’t work when you try to call. Lied about calling me back numerous times. Had to drive to their location to get ANY information. Was lied to numerous times about what was wrong. Finally they said my PS5 was unfixable. Brought it home and opened it up myself to find missing parts and a broken ribbon cable! Called corporate and after 4 days (and more lies) they basically said “sorry about your luck, you can’t prove we broke anything”! It was factory sealed!

Had an issue with my charging port

Had an issue with my charging port. Manufacturers defect. Phone is less than 6mo old. Tmobile had Samsung warrenty thru ubreakifix. First went to the Florence Kentucky location to have it taken care of. Should've known better when their phone service wasn't working and I had to go in person. They looked at my phone for about 5min and said they had to order a part. 3months later, no word. Called and called to no avail because their phone system doesn't work at all past the initial prompts. Called corporate and they had the same problem and ended up sending me to the Newport kentucky location. Whom I took my phone to and they had it fixed same day. So far so good with the repairs. Would give a higher rating for the Newport location alone, but as for the total experience, I'll stick with a 3 and wonder if it should really be a 2 having dealt with them for a single issue for 3 months.

I would never use this service

I would never use this service. I sent my custom HP laptop to be fixed for a battery issue i a specialized box for shipping. It was shipped back to me in a different box that was falling apart and barely wrapped in bubble paper. My charging cable never came back and now my computer is damaged (makes a noise and has a dent).Their only response was to contact UPS.

Laptop and Bitlock Recovery…

Took in a laptop that grandson had inadvertently locked up (3 yr old). He hit some key that triggered a ‘Bitlock Recovery’ error message and completely locked up computer. I didn’t feel like messing with it, so took to local uBreakIfix location. Was told by service rep that this is basically impossible to fix, he claimed to have seen hundreds of these and only one ever was recoverable. Suggested I just replace the hard drive because I’d likely never be able to recover this one. Said I could try calling manufacturer, HP, but good luck with that. Since I knew that this error message was a Microsoft protection issue (protecting against unauthorized use), I found it hard to believe hard drive couldn’t be recovered. I decided to take laptop home and see what I could do. I had it restored, up and running in 10 minutes. Simply followed on screen instructions on how to get the recovery code and all was good. I don’t know if service rep just didn’t know what he should, or if he was just trying to upsell me. Either way, would never recommend this place.

Wonderful Experience with UBreakiFix in Newport News, Va

I had a wonderful experience today at UBreakiFix in Newport News. My new phone did not sync to my computer, and I was being threatened with losing all my data. Jacob was patient, kind, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable about Samsung products. He resolved the issue completely and took the time to explain what he had done. He even looked at the computer to ensure it was also fixed. I highly recommend him and this store.

Phone in worse condition than when they started.

I scheduled an appointment at their blue springs location because they said the repair to my phone would take less than an hour. When I got there I was told they didn't have the part and it would take 2-3 days to get the part. They said their Kansas city location did have the part, but I would need to come the next day to get it fixed there. I was frustrated that I would need to drive a second day for over an hour to get the repair done, but figured that since they scheduled another appointment for me and reserved t hff e time and ensured the part was available that I would deal with the extra drive. I went to the Kansas city location. They had the part available, butthey quoted me a price that was $100 more than the price I was told the day before. I needed the phone repaired because it contained the information I needed for the upcoming doctors and specialists appointments for my daughter. I was upset about the sudden price change, but I ultimately agreed to pay it because this was the second time I drove over an hour to get this phone repaired. They gave me an estimated time for it to be done, which was an hour and a half. I waited for the phone repairs to get done. I went back to pick up my phone. The tech showed me the now repaired phone, but said he needed the password again so they could run a quick diagnostic on the phone before I left to ensure everything was fine. I gave him the information and waited another 40 minutes for the diagnostic test to be done. When the test was finally done I was told it couldn't be completed because I didn't have the sim card in. I told the technician that I could see it was working and I would just pay the fees and that would be fine. He said he couldn't do that and it was against their policy. I mentioned I could just get another sim card from tmobile as their was one about a mile down the road. He couldn't allow that either because they were closing soon. I again mentioned I would just pay for the repairs and sign whatever he needed because I needed the information from the phone. He said he couldn't allow that and he would have to take the screen off they just put on and put the old ond back on. I was upset because I already made two trips to get this phone repaired and it was going to cost $100 more than originally stated, but now they were going to reverse the repair and not even give me any options. I thought this was insane. I watched them remove the screen from my phone and half as put the old screen back in place. The screen was now damaged more than it was as there was no glass on it at all and they managed to break the back glass which wasn't previously damaged. The only thing the technician could do was apologize and say it was their company policy. I think that policy is insane! Now I have a phone is worse condition than it was and it will cost twice as much to repair and I am expected to just deal with it. If this is their policy, I don't know how they will stay in business at all.

Never

Never, never again will I use Ubreakifix! They don't even have the basic customer service skills...local or corp!
Details below:
* 7/1 - spacebar not working. Took to Liberty store. They looked at it at front counter. Said I needed a new keyboard and best if I ordered it myself and bring it back to them with the keyboard. (Should've been my 1st clue.)
* 7/11 - Took laptop back in for spacebar repair with new keyboard that I obtained.
* 7/13 - Picked up "repaired" laptop. When home now won't power on. Never a problem in the past. Took back to the Liberty store. Said I also need a virus scan and clean up because it is running slow.
* 8/1 - Sometime between 7/13 and this date (?) Liberty store sent it to their repair on Ward Pkwy. I wasn't called to ask or inform why. I found out by calling them myself for an update. Ward Pkwy ordered new keyboard on 8/1 again without my knowledge. Said should take 5-7 days to arrive. I shared i was unhappy with their lack of communication. They added to work to order call me when it arrives.
*8/10 - I called Liberty store for stayus. They told me to call the Ward Pkwy store who informed part hadn't arrived. They said they can't contact supplier to check on order status. (What supplier cant be contacted?) They put a note in my account to call me once part arrives.
* 8/10 - Called Corp Office customer service (working from home). Again i was told yhey cant contact the vendor for order status. She said she was sending a msg to supervisor to call me. I said I want supervisor to have some resolution of ETA of part. Was told would hear back within 24 hrs.
*8/12 - NO CALL RECEIVED.
*8/13 THRU 8/24 - NO CALL RECEIVED
*8/25 NEVER HEARD FROM CORP.
Called corp office again today. CSR said manager call request was never sent to Escaltation. She is sending urgent request and should hear from manager within 24 hrs.
*8/26 THRU 8/29 - NO CALL RECEIVED
*8/30 - Never received manager's call from corp (not surprised). I drove the extended distance to the Ward Parkway store to retrieve my untepaired laptop. Said part arrived yesterday. Hmm they ignored the note to call me. (They must not have out going phone lines. lol) I was told they are working on now. (A 30 min fix) told will be ready in 2 hrs. I couldn't wait. They said it will be sent back to the Liberty store today and I can pick it up tomorrow.
*8/31 - Rcvd laptop. Power working. Some files missing. Good thing I did a backup before taking it to them. It has NOT scanned for viruses and cleaned up as originally requested. Still running slow.
