Tutor Dr. Only finds inexperienced and poor English speaking hired help.
What a joke this place is.

We’ve used Tutor Doctor Crewe a few times now and always found them to be communicative, helpful and pretty spot on when matching my children with Tutors.
I really like the report feedback after each session, which as a parent keeps me informed and in the know about my child’s progress.

The tutors were good but not the payment plan. This is a notice to parents not to get sucked into paying in advance for multiple hours if there is a chance your child will not need them. Not only will you not receive a refund, you won't even get a response to your queries. The franchise in my area was very responsive when I wanted to sign up, but failed to respond to multiple requests when I asked about a refund for unused hours.

This is a quick review about West Berkshire, Reading, North Surrey brand owned by Mark Butler. As a tutor it had been an ambiguous experience. I was asked to commit to a student for a full-term whether I wanted to tutor the student or not. The director Mr Butler who has no Educational background (he is a brewer) should not ask freelancing professionals to commit to anything. A director should be qualified well enough to direct a tutor doctor branch. I work for an agency now where everyone has serious Educational background. Also these directors who just buy a franchise have more than one businesses. Easy to look it up at companies house website. The above director has 9 businesses. How can one person focus on that many businesses? Must be a juggler. Well, that explains the quality of some tutoring services. My advice is to find an agency or agencies whose owners are teaching professionals. They pay more too.

Tutor Doctor tutors aren't that bad. I just had a tutor who barely ever had time to tutor my child. On top of that I paid for classes in advance, now that the year 2023 is close to an end, I haven't received any feedback regarding my refund. They've been ignoring me for the past month now. I would strongly recommend that parents use other tutoring services that are less likely to scam you of your money like Tutor Doctor did to me, especially if you're in South Africa.

Great experience with the Richmond, BC location. Started with a personal meeting to ascertain our needs & fit for a tutor. Our son was frustrated with the quality of teaching in Math 11 pre-calc, lack of detailed explanations from the teacher, lack of quality time when he would go in for extra help, etc. Our tutor from Tutor Doctor has not only eliminated the classroom frustration by being able to explain concepts in different ways, but have seen a big improvement in marks.
I'm not really sure where these positive reviews came from.
If you look at Consumer Affairs, a lot of people feel they were ripped off.
It's very hard to get in touch with the tutors. If your child needs tutoring and the tutor doesn't show up, that is a big problem.
I would not pay anything upfront with these people because it's apparently hard to get time to speak with anyone - especially after they have your money.

My tutor was Ellie Roberts, she was really nice and patient. I went from a grade 3 to a grade 7 in the space of 2 months with only two tutoring periods a week. The sessions were very affordable and Ellie was able to work around my time table.
My child has ASD and ADHD. We had a tutor matched in October 2022 and got a total of 4 sessions. We got rematched in January 2023, the tutor and our contact never contacted us. We were charged over $400 each month until I sent a cancellation email, never got a response but wasn't charged anymore. I have tried reaching out to our contact and through Tutor Doctor website and nothing. We were also told we could claim tutoring through NDIS, which is false. I have submitted a complaint with the ACCC to get our money back.

I am very happy with Tshepo Tebejane physcial science tutor. my son is amazed how he explains the concepts linking formula's and definitions. i am looking forward to the outcome of my sons results.
I’m very happy with Tutor Doctor in Richmond and Delta BC. Peter took the time to really understand my son’s needs and was very understanding and proactive when our first tutor didn’t work out. Now we have a great tutor, Jessica, who is really helping to build my son’s self confidence.
I would recommend Tutor Doctor in Cambridge/ Saffron Walden. They are helpful and professional and have good attention to detail and good customer service. I have used this company a couple of times for my children. We have had several good tutors. I has specific requirements that they were able to suggest specific tutors for. On one occassion the tutor did not really suit my children and there was no problem with letting them know and we tried someone new. I have tried other companies (Superprof - really terrible). This is the one I would go back to.
We were looking for a tutor for our daughter. We liked the fact that you actually get to meet a Tutor Doctor representative to discuss your requirements (both academic and personality wise). This helps get the best tutor for the student. Definitely recommend this company.

Tutor Dr ripped us off. Could not match the right Tutor and owed us for lessons which they did not honor.
We tried contacting them on multiple occasions and left voice messages with call centre operators, and the individual who signed us up.. Never received a return call to rectify the problem. We finally gave up trying

Life-savers! Trace provided us with a clear path forward beginning with a thorough academic evaluation. He and his staff treated us with compassion along the way, providing reports after every session. My daughter’s tutor was highly qualified and the staff was always there to answer questions and to provide guidance as far as next steps.
