Good Growth, some bumps

My experience with Turing has been a positive one overall. The platform has improved, and the onboarding process was much smoother than I expected compared to other companies.

There are still some bumps along the way, but the growth has been wild.

A complete waste of time

A complete waste of time. Onboarded passing all test and coding challenge but when after 2 years no interviews. You applied for job then you don't even get any update on why profile is not being selected, no reason is given to you. The main funny part is their support team. They are like headless & brainless peoples, they don't even read your query and answers. Sometime they send you reply like how to onboard on their portal. You will raise complain about the wrong replies and they will send a reply , they are human beings mistakes can happens, wrong answers can be given. Imagine you can't connect to job poster and only way of communication is support team but they are brainless peoples who can only misguide you.

Turing is a SCAMMING PLATFORM

If there was an option for Zero star, it would fit perfectly to this "company". A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.
4 months of tests, interviews, start date delays, emails, Whatsapp text exchanges...to finally get notified that the role has been cancelled or some shady explanation. It's obviously a platform that uses freelancers to collect their data, get them to evaluate their systems or "tests" for free. LEGAL ACTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN AGAINST THESE SCAMMERS.

Spam! Spam! Spam! Spam! Spam!

I made the mistake of signing up to their website as a developer in Europe. I quickly lost interest, as all their jobs require working until 3AM in the morning in my local timezone, which doesn't align with my dream job expectations.

Once you subscribe as a developer, there is no way to unsubscribe. When I click "unsubscribe", I get "You have paused all Turing emails for 1 month". Same with WhatsApp. If they get your number, you can only "snooze" their messages for up to 6 months. Reminds me of my ex.

Avoid giving your real contact details unless you somehow enjoy this type of attention.

+1 star for a cool website design.

This is a legitimate scam. Stay away

This is a legitimate scam

Had completed interviews, got selected and settled for a very less pay. The HR guy lowballed me to a very low number than I am currently getting paid in India. Still agreed to their requirements and confirmed. Now been ghosted since 2 weeks. Tried calling them, no response. These unruly, unprofessional maggots don't deserve to host such platforms luring people and wasting their time.

First they dont consider your requirements in the application. They still setup interviews. Then they lowball you, exploit you and ghost you forever. I guess they want cheap labour and outright low ball people to a very low pay. Scammers need to be banned from offering jobs.

Decent Pay for My Region, but at a High Cost

Am I compensated well? Yes, compared to local standards in my country, and for that I'm grateful to Turing. (The pay is still very low compared to international standards). But, otherwise I am miserable. There is a requirement to account for every minute means that logging eight hours of work often requires 12-13 hours of screen time. There is considerable micromanagement, and frequent policy changes by management often disregard employee well-being. Additionally, layoffs are attributed to performance issues, which feels unfair.

Lazy approach to evaluation, Big Data collection scam?

Don't waste your time on them, don't feed the evil.

They are probably collecting big data for AI training and are probably a scam.

Their 'lazy' approach to evaluation must become extinct. All I see is the desire to not pay actual people who can assess skills well and to instead mass-test with low-quality assessment tools, and pretend that you are innovative, while in reality their approach is just greedy and sloppy. But they get your answers and code for Big Data, not paying anything for it. They don't care about false-negatives at all. They barely care about false-positives. They don't treat people like people. Even AI treats people better than they do.

So I make a conscious decision to boycott Turing and share my experience with all my friends, recommending them to not feed the company that treats people like that.

The Turing platform has proven to be…

The Turing platform has proven to be the most dishonest and racist. Consider this: after completing all stages and everything going well, I quickly logged in to check if my page had been updated following my non-technical interview. To my surprise, however, my code challenge had been left unmarked, and I received a response stating that I didn't meet the requirements for non-technical skill. I couldn't stop laughing at these people; I don't know why they are wasting people's time and energy. I'm hoping that by doing this, they'll be forced to confront their justification for doing so. LOL, the majority of their questions are written in backward English. https://ibb . co/z26VWmd

Worst experience of my life.

Worst experience of my life.
I dedicated a bunch of hours doing quizzes, not perfect questions, but I've seen worst.
Then the coding challenge, literally the worst experience of my life.
I did plenty of interviews, live coding, home assignments, LeetCode challenges, I have never seen such a poor platform.
They register everything (camera, screen and audio), advise to stay in your tab, at the most switch for documentation, specifying to not look at platforms like StackOverlow.
At the sime time, they do not provide a shell to test things out and their "Run tests" that should let you see logs and result can be pressed EVERY 60 SECONDS. I'm guessing this is some kind of crap to save money on provider's bills (eg. AWS, Azure, etc...).
A ticket to their support has been sent, will try out the coding challenge again in 90 days and, in case it has been improved, I'll be more than happy to edit this review.

Just a waste of your time.

They waste a lot of your time on quizzes and coding challenges, not providing all the necessary information about all the steps beforehand - as a result, your losses are snowballing. The outcome could be anywhere from zero to maaaayyybe.

I am surprised at how the obviously fake reviews manage to go undetected here. I, [full name], worked from [city] as [position] at [Turing alias], [false info], [false info]. Trustpilot appears to be easily deceived for somebody claiming to be a source of the trust.

Total waste of time, don't believe the good reviews

I signed up for Turing a couple of days ago, despite reading the flurry of bad comments I wanted to see it for myself.

Due to the sketchy technical assessments, I didn't get to the interview round.
Their initial "quick" assessments (15 questions/15 minutes) were full of typos and written in bad English. Not only that, but they asked about all kinds of obscure things that are irrelevant to the given technology (I'm a developer with 15 years of experience, and did loads of these assessments earlier).
Then, their so-called "coding challenge" has the worst platform imaginable, code something without being able to debug or even copy a line of code (within the editor). And it also had bugs, of course.
All of this led me to believe that this company is not serious about bringing in talent.

Instead, they go for the desperate people from countries with weak economies ("In the vast majority of cases, we recommend pay for our developers that far exceed what they would make in their local economies" - that's straight from their FAQs)
And sure as hell that they don't shy away from fleecing those people as much as possible.

Also, the 5-star reviews here are blatantly fake, and in general, every nice comment and article I found came from a Turing employee, not someone who worked with them.

Extremely Dissatisfied with Turing.com - A Frustrating Experience

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Turing.com, and I must say it was an absolute nightmare. However, my interactions with the platform left me deeply disappointed and frustrated.

First and foremost, the website itself was plagued with numerous bugs and technical glitches. After completing the interviews and being excited about moving forward, I encountered multiple issues while trying to complete my profile. These issues prevented me from providing vital information. It was a clear indication of a poorly designed and unreliable platform.

To make matters worse, the support team at Turing.com was utterly unhelpful and displayed a shocking level of rudeness. When I reached out to them for assistance with the technical issues I was facing, they seemed disinterested in resolving the problems and provided vague, unhelpful responses. It felt as if they had no intention of addressing my concerns or ensuring a smooth experience for their users. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer support is simply unacceptable.

Furthermore, the entire experience left me questioning the true motives of Turing.com. With the constant technical issues and the unhelpful support team, it seemed more like a data collection site rather than a legitimate platform for hiring remote developers. I couldn't help but wonder if my personal information was being mishandled or used for purposes other than what I had intended.

In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering Turing.com as a platform for hiring remote developers to proceed with extreme caution. My experience was marred by technical glitches, an unhelpful support team, and a general sense of suspicion regarding the company's intentions. There are undoubtedly better alternatives available that prioritize professionalism, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Waste of time, no real work opportunities

I signed up for Turing.com on 2020 and cleared all their technical rounds. Initially, it was a just assessment tests and filling up my profile but after that I had real-person interviews. First it was a coding round where they had a tough problem and someone breathing down/watching you as you code a solution--so when I cleared that I was over the moon because it was relatively tough and I hoped it would lead to some yield. Next was a more general technical round and after clearing that I finally a call with one guy who told me how much they are offering me to earn and wrote down ₹2 lakh per month on chat for a 4-hour/day i.e. half time commitment, working 20 hours a week. I agreed and waited for the next interview but that was pretty much it. It's been 4 years now and they are legit a useless platform. I have found work from so many other platforms and mostly through direct referrals and earn better figures but not a single dollar from them. An absolute waste of my time and effort. I still occasionally login to the platform and see my profile sitting on the "Get Hired" progress bar but that's pretty much it. It's dead.

Fake job and promises.

Fake job and promises.
Turing is totally fake, they do not have jobs and they just market on linkedin and everywhere for fake jobs. I completed my profile here passed 16 tests and I already have spent weeks on their platform its been 2 years I didn't get a single interview call. At the end when I gave up they offer me a job in which I cleared 3 round of test and on 4th round I had a technical interview, after that interview there is no update on job post no response, even when I raised a ticket they have same response every time. "Congratulations on completing the vetting process! We appreciate the time and effort you have put into it. Now, all that's left is waiting for a match!". There response is this after completing a job proposal interview so what about that job I saw earlier, was that fake?

The website is great

The website is great. I heard people complain about turing devs being incompetent. I am sorry if your experience was bad. This is my turing experience. I met this developer who I promised I would recommend to others. This guy just blew me away, he is timely on projects and gives your project priority. He recently completed a project for me in less than 3months which was the target. I have never been this happy. I wish I had another project to give him. The best I can do is to recommend him here. There are truly top notch developers out there, but are hard to find. This one has been a blessing to me. If you have any project here is his email arcticdev8 @gmail. com .

Not for UK startups, poor business model

There are various reviews I have read about Turing, comparing it with another leading platform etc. I opted for both platforms at the same time, and here is my experience:

Onboarding experience: Turing onboard you with a speedy call and interview the interviewer about your requirement.
They ended the call saying they would provide you access to the platform while there was no response for a day for an urgent requirement starting the following week. I approached another Top Talent site(pun intended) simultaneously, and they did a similar call to develop my job spec and fine-tune it. I had to put in a $ 500$ deposit, which was fine given the urgency.

When I was friendly and professional in informing Turing, I did not need access any more as I had already found someone suitable and would explore other roles in future where I have more time. The response comes like this:
Please get in touch with us again when you need a contractor for longer than three months. This expalined the delay.

I genuinely fail to understand why someone would have visibility for a contractor for more than three months if you are a startup in the Uk. 3 months is standard.

Hence, if you are a dynamic and high-tech startup in the early stages( seed to series A ) that needs experienced folks for short to medium-term contracts or part-time expertise, this is not the platform as this does not offer the flexibility required. I can only give one start for the wasted time, business model, and poor expectations against comparable platforms.
