Illegal return fees on untouched goods in original packaging
I bought an item online from Tuning Developments and returned it straight away. The part was untouched in its original box and in perfect A1 condition. The company still tried to keep £32 of my money as a return fee.
This policy is illegal in the UK. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, traders must give you a full refund when you return goods bought online within fourteen days. They are breaking consumer law by trying to deduct a £32 charge.
I only got the fee down to £0 because I bought the item through Klarna and disputed the charge. If I had paid directly with a bank card, I would have lost my money. Keep your money safe and shop with a retailer who follows the law.
