Tucson Alternator Exchange Service Reviews 

I purchased a 370 amp alternator for a 3rd gen Cummins, installed batteries at 12.8 v, fresh off the charger. As I did significant upgrades and had the fuel system apart and replaced the camshaft, it took a minute or so of running the starter to get it going. Then after making sure of no fluid leaks, I ran the idle up to about 2k rpm for 20 minutes. Voltage never got above 12.8, and I had a bad electrical burn smell. Sent the alternator back, and they told me the rectifier was burnt and that I had installed dead batteries. Simply false. They created an alternator that will burn itself up if conditions aren't perfect. Stock alternators out out only what they can, and don't burn up due to lack of available amperage. I've run winches with stock alternators and never burned one. If I run a winch with this one (eventual possible use), it can only fail.

Self destructive under high load. Every Cummins draws 200-300 amps while running the air intake heater, plus recharging whatever the AGM batteries draw while starting, daily. His alternator failed under basic use, and then the company lied directly to my face, apparently unaware of the fact I know they lied. Scammers, nothing more.

Tucson Alternator has terrible customer service. They have a 3 year warranty because you can expect your alternator to work shortly after your warranty has ended before it breaks. They don't offer any assistance and will argue with you over the phone. Businesses like this, with employees who dont know how to speak to customers, who offer no assitance don’t deserve your hard earned money. There are more reputable places in Tucson to purchase QUALITY car parts from such as Merles. I guess you get what you pay for at the this place, cheap alternators and cheap service. If you enjoy throwing away money shop here!
