I have used Treetops for my personal and business accounts for many years. They are always efficient and value for money. I sleep well knowing that everything is above board with HMRC. Whenever I ask a question I get a quick, helpful response that is easy to understand.

The team at Treetops have performed consistently well for me in managing my company and individual tax affairs over a number of years, and this week they have gone well ‘above and beyond’ expectations.

I received a communications from HMRC on a specialist matter relating to EIS, where the HMRC calculations suggested a five figure tax bill was now due for immediate payment. I knew the basis of the taxman’s computations was flawed and contacted the Treetops office by email asking for help. The following morning I had a callback from one of the accountants, who recognising the urgency of the matter and the need for the correct figures to be used, recalculated the tax due and drafted an appeals response letter to HMRC.

HMRC had taken three weeks just to send me their paperwork, and with the help of the team at Treetops inside a week we had the made the appropriate adjustments so that I could pay the right amount of tax in a compliant way, adhering to their 30 day payment period. And the amount was c. 80% less than HMRC had initially suggested.

For sure the team at Treetops are busy, and quite rightly non time critical work is managed on a first in-first out basis. But when things are important and urgent, that’s when you know they ‘have your back’.
