Avoid at all costs !

I used these on a recommendation but what a mistake !

Rang up and booked a call out for 3pm the next day, Thursday, which cost about £90. The engineer didn't show up and I'd taken time out of work BUT he actually arrived at 8pm but there was no communication whatsoever

I needed three leaky taps and a toilet button fixing - the engineer could only fix one of the taps and said he'd need parts for the other jobs. He said I'd be receiving a quote for the rest of the work

By the following Friday I had not heard anything so I rang and was told the engineer needed to come into the office to discuss the parts and quote and this would be done on the following Monday. By Friday I still hadn't heard anything so called and was told that I might need to have new taps on my bathroom sink and that they might have to remove some tiles in my shower to fix the tap and they might have to damage some ?!

So I said just give me a quote for the sink then and I'll leave the shower as it is. Later that day I received my quote - it was for over £900 !!!!!!!!!

So I emailed back and told them the parts are available online for about £60 (a new tap system inc. new waste is only £140) and I then get a reduced quote for just over £500

Obviously this set alarm bells ringing, so I contacted another plumber who came round and fixed the shower tap leak and toilet button on the spot and is going to come back and fit / supply new taps and mixer on my sink - the charge for everything is £350 all in - a third of what T&S originally quoted !!

Please avoid T&S because they are unprofessional, charge over the odds and have zero interest in their customers

No Quote

We've had good service from T&S in the past. When I wanted our utility room doing, they organised the lot, radiator, sinks, cupboards, electrics, lighting, plastering. When it came to redoing our living room, which included changing the radiators, I asked if they could do the rest as well - new window, new fireplace, replastering, flooring. A sizeable amount of work, and it meant it would all be done in one go. They said yes, they could do it, but despite numerous calls, I never got that quote. Just before that, I had a problem with one of my radiators - not enough heat was getting through, and I paid £77 for someone to come and tell me I needed a new radiator, because hey, it was Friday afternoon and who wants to work on a Friday afternoon? I didn't need a new radiator, just a new connector (the one I had was too narrow) that he couldn't be bothered to sort out. Now four months later, they've got the cheek to text me to say my boiler needs servicing and to give them a ring. Thanks for the heads up guys, but I think I'll book the plumber I've found who's just replaced my radiators, someone who's reliable and hard working and doesn't charge £77 for misinformation. Still working on the rest of the jobs that need doing in the living room, but we'll get there at some point.

Unreliable and have hidden fees

T&S heating installed my boiler a couple of years ago, it recently stopped work so I called them to send someone out, paid £77 upfront, the engineer didn’t arrive when he was supposed to, I rang them and was told he was rescheduled for the following day but they didn’t know why that was.
When he did arrive he spent half an hour looking at it and came to the conclusion it wasn’t working and said head office would contact me. Which they did to let me know that it would be another £120 to establish what the fault was, and that was before any charges to fix it which would be further call outs and fees.

Still not sure what the £77 I paid was for given they didn’t tell me anything I hadn’t already told them initially.

Avoid this company at all costs.

Avoid this company at all costs.
They started a wet room in my property October 2022 and it still hasn't been completed April 2023. We are on the 3rd bathroom fan the last one they left running 24/7 for 3 months before coming back to look at it, the toilet and sink were positioned wrong, the door frame was made far too big, the finish is of poor quality and they damaged my radiator and denied it.
I have refused to let them back in now and will get professionals to rectify their shoddy workmanship.

Poor poor poor sadly.

Sadly, I’m not impressed! I’ve had the engineers to my expensive boiler 6 times within the last 6 months. The boiler is not keeping pressure numerous parts have been replaced, my house has 2 occupants so the boiler is not over used! It’s serviced yearly, I always keep up with my direct debit monthly plan and rust residue that’s constantly erupting out the over fill pipe has damaged my double glazed window sill that’s now gone from English heritage green to a nice patch of stained rust sadly. Today no hot water all shut down and mount Fiji has erupted out the over flow pipe again which is bouncing of the kitchen window ledge all over my window and newly laid patio staining it a rust colour.

Boiler Changes were bad

They changed our boiler, the pipes and radiators. We expected them to be a proper engineer but they did most of the things wrong. The guy who did it, Steven, didn't even give us a receipt. Now the pipes are shaking. he didn't respond after a while. The van's registration number is FE18 BYO. If the pipes get anymore problems I am going to get a solicitor.

Quotation saga

Had T&S heating turn up for a quotation, seemed good and knew what they were talking about. Said they would get back to me in a week or so.
Six weeks later and 5 phone calls later, still no word from anyone regarding the quotation.
Keep getting told it will be a few days, but nothing.
Customer services dont care.

Didn't turn up

Didn't turn up
Didn't do the job
Someone sabotaged the pump by putting a stick inside the new pump, which is sealed so couldn't get in there by itself it was found by one of their other workers,no response from phone calls or complaints, they fob you off,James who seems to be supposed to be in charge lies that he's been in contact with us,,at one point we were left with no sink or shower for a week,it took a week to come out to replace the broken pump, only for that to leak, when they came to sort that the bloke took it apart exposing the wires under the sink, went off to fetch the new pump and never came back leaving us to put it back together because our autistic son was terrified to go in there with water and bare wires being out,we have every phone call and message between them and us recordered with pics of the damage they've caused promising to be out to fix the leak, that caused us to need 3 new ceilings, they have had to replace cladding on the walls twice and replace the cladding we paid for after damaging it so bad this problem as still not been resolved and is now been going on for 10 years ,we lost count after 7 new floors being put down and have how many floor boards have been replaced, the carpet as been ruined because of the amount of water that's leaked and the amount of workman boots traipsing up and down the stairs, and wallpaper ruined because they've dragged large pieces of cladding along it,the work they do is appalling and we are not putting up with it anymore,I could continue but I've not got a full day to write it all

failed to show despite taking money

took the money for the call charge before hand. Then failed to show up to my elderly parents who are without heating. No phonecall or anything. Parents rang next day, no explanation or apology. Still waiting for refund of call out charge. Would give zero stars but can't.

Be wary

Be wary: dubious selling practices at best, blatant lies at worst. Having had a new boiler installed I signed up for the 15 year guarantee T&S were offering on the grounds I just needed to have a yearly service. This service by the way is £10 more than their standard service because it is part of the guarantee. Yes, I don't understand that either. I mail to arrange my yearly service to be informed that my powerflush is due, £280.94 as per the guarantee. News to me and beyond my affordability I query this. Hidden in the small print this is stipulated. My issue is that this was neither explained or made obvious.

Awful

Well, where do I begin… I worked for T&S heating for over two years and It was honestly and easily the worst company I have ever worked for. They are an awful company to work for, made-to-drive vehicles which are unsafe to drive, company owners giving workers vehicles without tax and MOT, and poor quality repairs on vehicles (when they finally are repaired). I have recently left the company after having an accident in one of their vehicles after working 4 x 19hour shifts in a row and being charged £1000 out of my wages for the insurance excess fee. The company took ZERO responsibility for it after being forced to work that amount of hours and breaking multiple regulations. If anyone is looking to be employed I would stay well away from this company they are all taking and no giving!! The majority of the reviews you can find on google are from company staff pretending to be customers! The company only cares about money.

A one star is being too generous for this company but unfortunately, there's no option for zero stars.

Double billing for T&S own fault!

Had a boiler installed Nov.20 without too much fuss, but at the point of my first years routine test, the engineer found a leak on my meter, the test screw has been over-tightened and it required a replacement. Was without heat or water for 2-3 days until Cadent replaced it. Had a second engineer complete the original job s few weeks later and have now been charged twice, for a problem the install engineer caused in the first place.

Keep your eyes on the game is my advice…

Totally shocking In hindsight

In 2018 had new boiler and rads and bottom floor underfloor heating installed. From day 1 it all seemed like a complete mess. I rang them before installation to discuss what they were going to do, but they said don't worry it will all be discussed on the day. I was green and believed them. They turned up day one and tore out boiler, and then didn't turn up on day two. They told me the engineer was ill but turned out he had actually been sent on a big contract job. Long story short I asked for a wireless system and instead of providing a wireless jg speedfit underfloor system, they tried to bodge it with a nest thermostat, managed to catch them at that but they had already put in the wired version and I still stupidly trusted them. After everything was done I had to two weeks for then to finally wire the thermostats in. I complained and they said I could have a years free boiler service, and then wanted to charge 30 quid for the free year. Currently I've got cold floors as the system has failed and looking through the jg speedift literature, It's clear they cobbled it together with no design from jg speedifit as is supposed to happen, no proper commissioning and no idea what flow rates I'm supposed to have. Also they failed to put in the super cheap communication cables that allow the thermostats to talk to each other. Terrible business, clunking pipes that keep us awake at night and cold floor. 8 grand we spent.

Wouldn’t even give them one star.

Wouldn’t even give them one star..
Can’t find there staff when don’t turn up for work I mean for days they don’t come.. and expect you to wait until they decide to turn back in for work, they expect you to contact there own staff to see where they are… sooo unprofessional!
call staff in office are not friendly at all they are rude and they can’t wait to get you off the phone. Knowing what there cow boy builders are like.
Can’t find job sheets that they send surveyors out to do and then say the job they was meant to do they can’t do because they can’t find paper work!
Never known a business or a company to work at such low standards and them be apart of Nottingham city home repairs! It’s quite shocking that this is what we work with and pay for now days in 2021!

Customer Service non existent

Customer Service non existent. Have spent over 2 hours this afternoon trying to get through for a quote for a repair following an assurance someone would call me back following an initial call this morning. I explained the urgency of the fix as my mother is due a chemotherapy session tomorrow and will then need to isolate yet this didn’t seem to matter or be of any significance. Both my parents are elderly and of poor health and this is very disappointing as my parents have been loyal customers up until now.

Worst ever customer experience

Getting a boiler from T & S was the worst customer service experience I have ever received from a company, it was a never ending tale of mistakes and poor service. It started with the quote, I had a long conversation with the estimator about why I wanted a replacement thermostat and receiver but when the installation team arrived they told me it had not been included (it is hard to understand why) and they installed the boiler but left with no working thermostat and receiver. Unbelievably this meant the central heating was on full blast on a summer’s day with no way of turning it off, eventually one of their emergency engineers advised me to switch the electricity off to the boiler in order to stop the heating (and hot water too). I was promised an electrician would arrive the next day to get everything up and running. I stayed home all day but no electrician turned up. I sent an urgent e mail and phoned (‘no one to help, someone will call when available’), eventually someone phoned after 5pm (more than 2 days after the boiler installed) and an electrician finally arrived at 5.30pm. When the invoice arrived it was more than £500 more than the original quote – what a company!! They soon sent a new invoice for the original quote. I sent in a written complaint listing all their mistakes, someone said they’d take personal responsibility for the complaint but after 4 weeks and 2 queries about progress I’ve not heard a word in response to the complaint or queries.
