Parking Nightmare
Be careful if you visit here as a parent to pick up or drop of your child with any luggage. Having done so a number of times with no problems, they have recently, it appears, changed the rules and we got a £100 parking ticket through the post after we parked for 20 mins and picked up our son for Easter. This makes it very difficult to move in and out because the car parks nearby are not that nearby at all especially when you have car loads of stuff to move in or out!

We are really sorry to hear about the parking ticket you received after dropping off your son. We completely understand how frustrating this must have been, particularly when you had visited a number of times previously without any issues. Moving in and out of student accommodation is already a big undertaking, and an unexpected £100 charge on top of that is far from the welcome we would want for any of our residents' families.
We appreciate you flagging this, and we hope that since this review was left in April 2024, any outstanding concerns have since been resolved. If not, or if there is anything further we can help with, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us directly and we will do our very best to assist.

Great experience
I have been staying here during university and the facilities are excellent. The pool and and table tennis tables are in good condition with a gym and events happening each week. The staff are friendly, especially Lauren who is always helpful and provides quick answers for any questions.
I would 100% recommend staying here for your time at university

True Salford
Dreadful communication. There have been room inspections this week from the date of the 18th - 19th, and 20th if there were things that need improving in certain apartments. It’s almost the 20th and they’re yet to have concluded their inspections. I have seen people ask about the floor they are on, as I know many are curious, yet there has been no response from anyone at True Salford. As residents, the bare minimum we deserve is communication, but the staff here can’t comply. There wouldn’t be such an issue if they stated whether or not there was a delay etc, but there has been nothing!
Also, staff members are secretly part of resident group chats on Snapchat. Anna is a member and can see everything that is put in the chat. I don’t think it’s professional of staff to secretly monitor chats etc. Nothing has been mentioned by the staff that Anna would be in the group chat, which I think is even worse, as I don’t think staff are even aware that she’s in it.

That is not good enough and we are sorry.
Regarding the room inspections — we completely understand your frustration. Clear, timely communication around inspections is something residents have every right to expect, and we are sorry that updates were not provided when delays occurred. We have since worked to improve how we communicate with residents around planned building activities, and your feedback played a part in shaping that.
On the matter of a staff member being present in a resident Snapchat group chat without residents' knowledge — we take this concern very seriously. Residents should always feel that their private communications are their own, and any staff involvement in resident group chats should be transparent and clearly communicated. We would have investigated this properly at the time had it been raised through our formal channels, and we apologise if that pathway wasn't made clear to you.
We hope that your experience improved following this review, and we thank you for holding us to account.
Great place to live
Stayed at True Student Birmingham (during covid) and it was really nice. Felt very safe, staff were nice, there was 24/7 concierge and security in the night.
Literally a 2 minute walk to the bull ring.
15 mins to BCU and about 7 min train to UoB and the trains run every 10 minutes or so.
Communal areas were nowhere near as nice as the pictures on the website, although I see they've now changed the pictures on the site to reflect that lol. So I was disappointed when I got there, but they are accurate if you're looking now.
The gym is immaculate and has everything you could need.
The studios are amazing, very spacious and feel so cosy. TVs are really big, bathrooms are so good, they have a waterfall shower.
Staff are very nice and not annoying or pushy - they didn't do that thing where they bother you all the time to rebook, they just asked me a couple of times and I declined because moving into flat with friends. They also knock on your door sparingly, only if they really need to talk to you. If you don't answer, they just go away.
You can pick up parcels any time of the day or night and talk to anyone at the desk. It feels like a home, not somewhere you're staying. Some student accomms really feel like you're not even welcome there.

Don’t bother staying at true student…
Don’t bother staying at true student Salford it’s a waste of money they take the mick out of students money it’s overpriced for what you actually get the studio costs £202 a week and has absolutely no sort of storage and the kitchen is so small can’t fit no pots and pans in the cupboard, absolute waste of money it’s over priced because we’re paying for the amenities. And let me not talk about the landlord who never replies to your emails or your concerns I’m telling you it’s a rip off don’t waste your money 3.1k per term all your finance gone.

We'd like to provide some context around the amenities during your stay. Throughout 2020 and 2021, we faced a number of government-mandated closures of our social and communal spaces, and whilst we completely understand how frustrating this was for our residents, it was sadly outside of our control. At every stage, we acted in the best interests of the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our care during what was an incredibly difficult and uncertain time for us all.
Regarding the storage and kitchen space in your studio — we're sorry this didn't meet your needs, and your feedback was shared with our team at the time for consideration.
We're also sorry that you felt ignored when raising concerns. Every resident deserves a prompt and helpful response, and we apologise that this wasn't always your experience.
We hope that things improved during the remainder of your stay, and we thank you for your patience and understanding throughout such a challenging period.
I have lived here for half a year
I have lived here for half a year. True Student Living is the best student apartment in Birmingham in every respect, not one of them. The first is location. Located in the center of Birmingham, Chinatown and indoor/outdoor market make life very convenient. If you want to shop, Bull Ring and New Street are also within easy reach. New Street train station is also only a five-minute walk away. From a facility point of view, True Student Living is also amazing. The interior decoration adopts a minimalist style and is very new. The apartment’s gym is also fully equipped with complete supporting facilities, very modern. In addition, the most important thing is that the service here is really good, I I never need to worry about finding someone to solve the problem for me. The package will also be properly kept at the 24-hour front desk and someone will deliver it to the door of the room once a day. Various interesting events,gifts and useful items. If you need to print, it is free or even unlimited. In general, this place definitely matches its own luxury positioning, it is very recommended to stay!

I arrived at True Student Glassworks in the middle of the pandemic, in January. The team was absolutely amazing, very helpful. Everyone is lovely, the activities are always so creative and so much fun. It is also very secure. I loved staying here and would recommend it 100%!

Staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are really aesthetically pleasing and spacious. Great facilities available, the on-site 24h gym, study areas and social areas. They host events throughout the month for students to interact. Overall a very nice place to stay I really enjoyed my time here :)

True student is an amazing place to…
True student is an amazing place to stay. It is secure, has got high class gym, 24 hour concierge, they conduct so many events and stuff for the students.. the rooms are really comfy..i was totally new to manchester and didn’t have any friends here since i came mid semester, People there especially Liz, was very very nice and friendly and helped me with lot of things during and after my quarantine. There is easy access to supermarkets and tram stop is just at door step. A perfect location. I felt at home here.. i am very sad that my contract ends in august i wish i get an extension to stay back…☺️☺️

Loved living at True Student Newcastle, staff are super friendly and always willing to help with whatever you need. Rooms are super nice but just a tad expensive, sure my experience would’ve been even better if COVID hadn’t of happened :(

Awesomesauce accommodation
The staff is extremely friendly. Shout out to Vincent and Liz who are exceptional staff at True Salford. Rooms have modern interiors, and the location is best in Manchester city.
The price is slightly higher as compared to other student accommodations, but the true-life events and other great facilities within the accommodation make it worth it. It's a safe and well-maintained place to live for students.
I highly commend this place to anyone who studies at the University of Salford.

Fraudulent landlords! Dont move here!
Fraudulent landlords in Salford!!
The company has signed a contract, for a higher price on my behalf without my knowledge & uploaded it to their website. They have also marketed their housing in a misleading way as they said the beds would be 200 x 200 yet the beds arent that size.
When confronted with it, they claim the forged signature was an error and that the 200x200 is for bedsheets & not the actual bed.
Company is useless, has been reported to university, UCAS & local authorities as well as reported for forgery through the police.
