Just used for (I think) first time to make a purchase on Ebay. Worked perfectly and securely with my First Direct account and not connected (as far as I can tell) with any American tech company.

We have used TrueLayer for a couple of years.
They do not provide support to existing clients. We have customers who make payments through them and they are holding their funds without telling us what is happening. Circa 7% of payments. They choose not to provide support and this is causing customers real problems.
Do not use TrueLayer, they do not Treat Customers Fairly and do not look to have the right outcomes for their customers.

Made a wrong payment transfer of £1020 to a company who ceased trading in 2023. Realised that True Layer we servicing financials for that company so I got in touch with them chasing my money in extreme distress.
Got through someone somehow and they understood my case, escalated issue to internal departments and 5 days later got a message "your money has been returned to your account".
Cannot thank you guys more as it was extremely stressful, thinking that I might never get my money back. Big thanks to Krasimir and Sam as both dealt with my issue, understood the stress I was going through, kept following up with me with regular updates. Cannot be more grateful TRUE LAYER. Your people are your assets.

I am a small sole developer creating a proof of concept for a new product aimed at changing how people approach money. The goal is to provide a single value representing their total savings by subtracting monthly recurring costs from their total funds. This value would be displayed in a mobile widget, allowing users to set savings goals and gamify the savings process.
Connecting to banks to retrieve balances was my biggest concern, but after an initial issue with obtaining an access token, I was able to use the data APIs to connect bank accounts and have a working proof of concept within a few hours.
The API is fast, easy to use, and provides accurate, up-to-date data. It includes various routes such as list accounts, get account balances, and get account transactions, covering many use cases with several integrated providers.
My only feedback for improvement is that it would be beneficial to normalise data between card types. For example, normal savings accounts and credit cards require slightly different logic to get the balance. Additionally, a more interactive onboarding process in the console could help alleviate some initial setup frustrations
.
Overall, I will continue developing this project and using Truelayer to do so.
Really easy way to make instant payments. Quick and easy to connect my bank especially when I didn’t have my card handy.
This is a great link to push money from my bank account to pay for things on apps like Freetrade. It’s fast and easy to use.

We have no update on this issue since 24 April 2024. Is this the Support you provide to your clients?

Reply from TrueLayer
Is there any option to give stars in NEGATIVE? I don't want to give even a half star for Truelayer. The worst Support I have ever seen in my career and they don't even care of this.
Our issue is almost pending with Truelayer since 1 month and the last response was received on 24 April by Louise (Senior Client Operations Specialist). Since then, there is no update and we are continuously chasing for an update still senior team doesn't care to even respond to us.
When we chase for the issue on live chat they just simply say they are looking into it and they can't provide the timeframe.
Whoever looking to use Truelayer, please be aware, this company can be a reason for any companies downfall.

TrueLayer is being forced on me as a middleware as a customer of another payment provider (Payoneer)
Why should I give TrueLayer, an untrusted and unknown company from outside the EU access to my bank account? To siphon off data and/or introduce security risks that are purely for the detriment of the user? That's pure speculation of course, but it sure seems that way to me as a customer.
No thanks, and the negative reviews both here and on Google Maps make it clear TrueLayer is not trustworthy (for me, at least).
Edit/Update: Thanks for that, however, TrueLayer was forced on my without my choice, so I don't really care for it either way.

Has never worked with my bank, keeps getting promised and pushed back.
Communication virtually non-existant.

Hi guys! My experience is the worst! We are waiting 2 or 3 months to launch the product. They have an endless due diligence process. Documentation is complicated!

Been working with Truelayer for years. Reliable service, helpful team.
It's basically impossible to get prices or any sort of straight answer from truelayer. It's been a couple of months since I provided loads of verification info to request the Pay As You Go Plan and it's still "pending". No one has been able to even give me an indication of what it costs. Look for alternatives and avoid wasting your time on them.

I wish all payments were this easy! TrueLayer has allowed me to Top up my Revolut & Nutmeg accounts so much faster than before. The new payment method is seamless compared to a Card, as it uses my Banks Mobile Application to authenticate the payment.
Cool new payment method to top up my FreeTrade account. Very smooth experience and I have never had any issues.
Used TL to quickly deposit on T212. Seamless user experience! It takes no time.
I use Truelayer via Revolut every time I top up my account to buy Euros, it works perfectly. The first time took a few minutes but after that, the money is transferred in seconds.
I'm a trading enthusiast and have used TrueLayer via a trading app. Funds were available right away and the whole thing was really fast.
Easiest and fastest payments in the market
Using my iPhone, I can fund my Trading 212 account with TrueLayer in just seconds and without any credit card numbers or passwords, just my face ID.
It's also free!
