Comfortably the worst online purchase…

Comfortably the worst online purchase experience I've ever had.
Bought a roborock through Big W's marketplace, it broke almost immediately, and have had the longest ongoing saga with Tristar to get a refund with them making up policies that aren't published such as calling it a "change of mind" and trying to dock a "20% change of mind" fee even though they acknowledged it was faulty, then a "10% restocking fee", then a $70 postage fee. Had to lodge a complaint with fair trading to get it resolved. Absolutely garbage experience and really surprised Big W lets them sell through their platform given the poor reviews.

Advertised on Catch with incorrect…

Advertised on Catch with incorrect pricing and tried to replace with lower quality model.

I paid for a Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra - Black on catch and was contacted the next day stating that the price was in error. They then stated that the do not have the black in stock (still advertisied) and tried to get me to pay $700 more for the cheaper white version or accept the Pro version not MaxV.
Advised numerous times I only wanted the BLACK S8 MaxV Ultra and could they at least beat the price I could get it for elsewhere and they refused.
The stated they have processed a refund but will wait and see how long before I get it in my account. Very disappointed. Wont deal with them again as appears dodgy trying to get lead by advertising at much cheaper price just to say it was wrong and then offer lower quality products, or request higher payment.

Scam

First off, try calling them right now. Despite their advertised online support hours I can guarantee you will not get an answer, nor a response via email or their online chat. Their online support barely exists, this makes getting a refund on the falsely advertised stuff they sell near impossible. I ordered a Steam Deck OLED, and received a used LCD model with games pre installed. They then got mad at me for contacting them during their advertised hours as the phone number just redirects to someone’s mobile number. They then tried convincing me the LCD was an OLED and would not admit fault, then continuously ignored me until I threatened an ombudsman.

This place is shady, even though Big W uses them as a provider for certain items i’d spend my money elsewhere with a better reputation and warranty.

this place is a scam.

Bought a Garmin Phenix 7 watch from…

Bought a Garmin Phenix 7 watch from Tirstar Online. Thirteen months later, the watch stopped working. I contacted them, but they said they couldn't help. I contacted Garmin, and they said they couldn't help either because Tirstar isn't an authorized supplier.

My friend bought a Garmin watch from JB Hi-Fi. Almost two years later, he had an issue with the watch and went back to the store. They replaced it for him.

Ordered the Robot Vacuum and it never…

Ordered the Robot Vacuum and it never arrived (2 weeks now). Everyday I contacted them to ask, all they said was: We will contact the Post office tomorrow and it will be shipped tomorrow. After about 6-7 times, I am requesting for refund now and hopefully I will get back my $2k.
Never shop with them again.

Responsibility is for someone else:
I purchased an Ecovacs x2 omni robotic vacuum cleaner through BigW Marketplace at Black Friday Sale 26/12/23 and it arrived from Tristar Online in mid Jan 2024.
It failed to perform as per Ecovacs specs after less than 6 weeks and I contacted the manufacturer support line for assistance. They advised me to contact the retailer where I purchased the product. BigW were contacted and I was informed to contact the re-seller, Tristar. They were contacted on 17/3/24 and this triggered a frustratingly long string of email back-and-forths that lasted several months. They initially would not investigate my claim unless I returned the product at my cost ($110). Their decision was to repair the product & return it to me.
It arrived in less than adequate packaging for securely transporting electronic equipment and it had visible damage and a major scratch across the robot camera screen.
I immediately contacted Tristar and was asked to return it again for further investigation.
This triggered several more emails to both BigW complaints and Tristar before they finally agreed to pay the return fees and give me a full refund.
On 13/6/24 the refund arrived back in our account.

Tristar Online sold me counterfeit Dyson V12 Slim

I bought the product online from MyDeal and Dyson was shipped from seller, Tristar Online Pty Ltd.
When I got the Dyson, I tried to register with Dyson Australia for warranty and they do not recognise the serial number in their system (it's not a genuine Dyson product).
The Serial number must contain -AU- which is missing in my fake Dyson. Also the vacuum seal was broken within couple of use.

Seller does not acknowledge the items as being fake and still in dispute for full refund.
MyDeal is saying that they do not screen the seller if they sell fake items or not and leaving it to me to deal directly with seller.
Do not trust items sold by Tristar Online Pty Ltd.
