I only use free applications
I only use free applications. The first time I used free Trinka it was excellent, as I was able to improve the English in my manuscript. However, the second and third times I used it I could not understand how to use the information, I could not download the corrections made on those subsequent occasions. So I didn't use it anymore. I am currently a retired full professor, so I can only access free versions of AI

Terrible for Research Projects
I used this software for a class research project and wanted to share my experience. While this software is really interesting in theory, it simply is not ready for scientific, research-based projects or large documents (more than a few pages). It did a wonderful job at tracking AI and making myself aware of what my sources were and where they were coming from (AI or scientific research), but that positive was not enough to counter the time I spent trying to recover lost work. The software would lose my progress after approximately an hour of inactivity, which was particularly frustrating during a lengthy project. While there was a "saved" indicator, that did not necessarily mean that my progress was indeed saved. Without a manual save button, I was weary whether my work was truly being saved and had to constantly copy my content into Word as a backup. This in turn would alter the data it was collecting from my work as I would copy and paste back into the document and lose the information on my source location or AI similarity.
I am fairly tech savy and use google docs and word almost daily. Even I struggled with the formatting tools, particularly for tables and images. The table formatting was difficult to work with and required considerable time to achieve even basic layouts. Image formatting options appeared to be very limited or non-existent, making it hard to properly size, position, or wrap text around images. When I attempted to export my document to PDF, the formatting did not translate correctly, making the final document difficult to read if anything was at all legible.
Unfortunately, after about a month of trying to use this software, I had to revert to Grammarly and Word to complete my remaining assignments.
Despite these challenges, I can see what the software is trying to accomplish. Adding reliable auto-save with status indicators, a manual save option, improved table and image formatting tools, and better PDF export reliability would significantly improve the user experience and make this a much more viable option for students and professionals alike.
The 2 star rating comes from the frustration of battling the software and user interface contrasts with the positives of tracking sources and real-time AI similarity scores.
