What an absolute joke of a company

What an absolute joke of a company. They raise their price to 499$ per month and if you have a free plan and don't upgrade they delete your site. I cannot say this any clearer: stear far away from building your new community on bettermode.

Bettermode increases it's fees exponentially

Bettermode has chosen to change their plan options, removing the free plan and raising the price of a subscription from $50 a month to $399 a month. There was no indication of this change happening when I made my account only 1.5 months ago, and in that time I've spent countless hours building my website around their product, expecting that I would be paying $50 a month. $399 is a ridiculous fee for a product that is not even flawless in it's usability or look - I would not recommend pay this price for this service.

Disgusted with Better Mode!

Created two communities and hoped for great things from the previous Tribe software now Bettermode.

There's nothing BETTER about it - here's why: I go away for a while, and return to find that one of my sites has been completely deleted from my account - I sure as hell didn't delete it!

This is not a reliable platform and I would reconsider other options first.

A company that keeps disappointing year after year

Came to Bettermode after having my platform "dormant" for some years when it was still "Tribe". Thinking Bettermode would bring better things, I
started again building the platform, but immediately after logging in to my community saw major issues.

I used to have an appsumo deal that offered all the following features as showcased below.

But after now the platform is "Bettermode", they are all gone. If I want now webhooks, I need to pay a whooping $199/month, CMS upgrade, another $99/month, Bandwidth Books, $199/month, so almost $500/month to run a community that I should have by default. I was expecting that at least the LTDs would be honoured and would just pay for new features, but this really feels a disappointment. I heard in Appsumo forum, that they delete all bad review posts of Appsumo customers, so it will just show that nothing changed and no care for customers, unless they can bring "new" money to the table, at least this post they can't delete.

I "love" how below in a comment Bettermode replies "Over the years, we have invested heavily in building a platform", would love to know how much "investment" was milked out of the Appsumo deals, and then leaving these people with nothing?

Worst decision made

Me and my company have been using Tribe for several years now, investing heavily into building a community where people can exchange information and interact at no cost.

Recently, Tribe made the worst choice possible to cancel all free plans and set the entry level pricing to $599. I consider this a straightforward steal from the customers that trusted Tribe for all these years.

A Modern Platform With 'Human' Support

Their support is 'human'--rather than using a strict protocol that feels like mechanized 'help,' they instead listen to exactly what you're saying and respond directly and thoughtfully to your questions, problems, feature requests, and more.

Quick and helpful Service

I got a issue using the platform last day I mailed it and DM them on Twitter and I got reply on both place and issue was also solved. The team is also of friendly nature and listen you carefully and analysis problem in great way.

This has to be the best and easiest forum

This has to be the best and easiest to use forum / community management app in existence. I've been using Discourse for awhile now, and while it is very customizable, it took FOREVER to set it up properly. With Tribe, you're up and running 100x faster and with little to no custom development, too.

Our community is flourishing!

Our non profit organization wanted to build an online community. We trialed all the big players and easily selected Tribe. Our online community is flourishing and our users LOVE it. We were able to brand the color scheme so it matched ours, and it fits like a glove.

We are big fans both as an organization as well as members of the community.

I love Tribe :)

This is amazing platform - I realy love it.
Version 2.0 is totally game changer - fast, beautiful and well thought out.
A really great alternative to Facebook in my case.
Excellent developers, listening to their customers and constantly improving the product.

It doesn't work and can cause damage to your company

It doesn't work and can cause your company many problems. It's almost impossible to bring people into the community via the email which goes 100% of the time into spam or junk, causing embarrassment and a huge amount of admin with customers at the very moment they need to be happy with their purchase. Once you've explained how to find it, it then doesn't work, but you can't create an account for them! It will be one of the poorest decisions you make for your company. They are nice people but ineffective. They know there's a bug but in the last 2 months of almost daily pleading they have not been able to fix it. Stay well away!

The best thing on the market

I love Tribe! I never would have been able to create a social network for FREE if it wasn't for tribe. They don't put ads on your site, which is nice. They also don't sell your info, which is awesome! I've been using Tribe for about 3 months now, and I can happily say that it IS the BEST place to build your social network

They don't keep their Word and go after money.

This App had everything to be great, not perfect but almost. Expect they don't keep their promise. I bought the AppSumo deal in 2019 where they included WordPress integration for 2020, which is why I went for Tribe in the first place. We are in 2021, still no WordPress Integration and they keep promising it for future releases. I have sent many emails and discussed this with them, if they don't implement Wordpress, at least give the SSO to users of AppSumo that you promised this. They refuse to give the SSO feature and always ask us to upgrade ($249/Month), so as to pay more money in the end.
Seems their AppSumo deal was just to milk the Cash Cow a bit and here we are, 2021 still waiting for it. At least return my money.

Engaging with Coworkers

Engaging with Coworkers

Our organization's Social Committee was looking for a platform that would help us to stay virtually connected with our coworkers at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. We needed something that would be interactive and read like a Facebook page or another social media platform, but without the hassle of sharing your social media with your coworkers when it might contain some personal information. Tribe has been the perfect outlet for this. It allows us to post funny memes, keep conversations going and even set up events like contests, "questions of the day" and host theme days with our coworkers -- which keeps all of us in touch with the fun work culture of our organization. The best part, is you are starting with a clean profile template that is not connected to other social media platforms, and can stay as professional or casual as it needs to be.

We love tribe and definitely intend to continue using it! I recommend for any organization that is having difficulty keeping employee engagement open in these unprecedented times.

Social Intranet Inspired by Social Media

We love the customizability the platform offers and the range of tools it integrates directly. Our team is loving the entire social intranet experience and we're happy the adoption as well as overall employee engagement with Tribe Platform. We're planning to roll out an extranet as well to collaborate with partners and selected set of customers.

A cool community solution with the right balance between customizability and simplicity

The overall experience of working with Tribe team is great! Primarily looking at the success and support team, they are quick to resolve issues and help with any question. The team also frequently releases new features and takes the feedback seriously. They worked closely with us to build a customized community with some of the valuable integration strategies and helped our team easily get on board to get hang of the apps.
