Poor terms when it comes to being ill on the day

Purchased a ticket to Othello months ago but came down with the flu the day of the performance. In spite of no performances being sold out for the run they would not exchange the ticket for another day. Policy dictates over common sense ... where attending the theatre when ill compromises other attendees as well as the performers.
London theatres can be "on the make" unlike the National which will credit you for any ticket.
Lesson learned!!
