Unhelpful representative and incorrect refund

I purchased a crank puller for my Sole R52 recumbent bike. It didn't fit. When I contacted Tread Parts I was told that they didn't supply parts for products marketed in Canada. I asked if they could confirm that the crank puller I had bought had an Imperial thread, while a Canadian product would be metric. I asked where I could obtain a metric crank puller but was told to try Amazon, despite the fact that I had told him I had already bought one there and it was identical to the one Tread Parts had sold me. The rep didn't seem to understand the issue. Asked for a photo of my crank and told me that from the photo he suspected that I had damaged the thread on the crank myself. I objected to the implication that I was incompetent but even after I had tried the crank puller on the other crank and found that it didn't fit there either, the rep still would not admit that this could be due to an incompatible thread. I asked to be able to return the product for a refund, and was told that because I was in Canada I would have to pay the return shipping costs. A month after returning the product, I had received no refund and had to send a reminder. I was not told that Tread Parts would only refund the price of the product, and NOT the outward shipping costs, so in the end, having paid the return costs the refund I got was less than the total amount I had paid.

Hi Geoffrey, Thanks for your review. I can confirm that this crank puller is compatible with all Sole bikes made for the US Market. You bought this item for use on a Canadian Model that we do not support and is not listed anywhere on our site. We do not have an R52 listed on our website and we have never listed it before in the past. We pride ourselves in listing compatible parts and tools for specific models. You purchase a tool that was not linked to your model because your model does not exist on our site. Our return policy clearly states that "a full refund will be issued less the cost of shipping and return label" It also states that we can only issue return labels to customers that are within the United States Of America. I also just wanted to point out that you frequently leave any business you deal with a 1 star rating. Thanks Tread Parts Team
