We just got back from our private 18-days trip to Vietnam organized by TransIndus. It’s our third travel with this company, and all of them have been excellent. In this occasion I had a problem as In Hue I had a fall at the Saigon Morin Hotel, which required me to go to the hospital. There, they performed a series of tests to check for any fractures in my head and ribs, and stitched up an open wound on my temple. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, although I did have a hard fall, so I was able to continue my trip, with the recommendation to go to another hospital in Saigon to have the stitches removed. The assistance of Mr. Yung (our guide in Hue) in the initial moments and throughout the trip in Hue and Hoi Ann was invaluable. The local agent of TransIndus in Vietnam, Mr. Nhut, also contacted us immediately and continued to address all the needs that arose from the accident throughout the rest of the trip. Their availability at any time, their immediate responses, and their efficiency deserve our utmost gratitude, and we want to emphasize this.
Next there is a brief resume of our valoration of the trip
Score scale: 1 extremely bad- 10 excellent
Drivers were always excellent, kind, safe and polite and our cars were very comfortable. (Score 10).
Guides were good, accurately following the schedule and always on time. However, some of them (in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh) suffer from a lack of proactivity, responding to our questions, but without providing any kind of suggestions by themselves (score 8). Our guide in Hue and Hoi Ann (Mr. Yung) deserves special mention as he was exceptional!.An excellent guide, with a deep knowledge of the area, his suggestions improved the programme in a way perfectly adapted to us. Also, his assistance after the accident was a great help for us. We were very lucky to got him as a guide (score 10).
Cruises: La Regina in Ha Long Bay and Bassac III in Mekong delta
Both were very good. Both ships were very comfortable, accommodation and meals being excellent (score 10). The crew was also very kind helpìng us at any moment. The scheduled activities were globally interesting and well organized, but the visit to Viet Hai with La Regina, and the visit to the floating market with Bassac were a little bit disappointing.
The visits and activities were well organized and they were as expected from a classical travel. The only problem was that some of them were very crowded (score 9). An activity that was a nice surprise was the floral workshop in Hanoi. I strongly recommend this activity to any flower lover (score 10)
Hotels
Pullman in Hanoi (score 9)
Very nice hotel, with rooms wide and comfortable, and a good restaurant. The only problem is that, in spite of being centric, the surroundings have very little interest. Anyway, it is comfortable enough to compensate for the location..
Saigon Morin in Hue (score 8)
A charming hotel with historical interest. Comfortable and with an excellent breakfast. However, they should better mark the lobby steps to avoid accidents like mine (we already made this suggestion to the hotel staff).
Boutique Hai Ann Resort. in Hoi Ann (score 8).
A good hotel. Unfortunately we could not use the beach, or swimming pool due to my accident combined with very bad weather. Some parts of the hotel need better maintenance. Restaurant fine.
The Anan in Mui Ne (score 10). Excellent.
The rooms were comfortable, the pools were great, the beach access was good, and the restaurant was excellent. The half-day tour to visit the dunes and the fishing village, which we booked through the hotel, was also perfect.
Silverland Ben Thanh in Ho Chi Minh (8)
A very modern hotel with a peculiar aesthetic. The rooms are very small but well laid out. However, they are not recommended for stays longer than two days (they are too small). The whole hotel feels a bit claustrophobic, except for the dining room and the pool, which are on the terrace and have magnificent views. The breakfast is rather basic for Western tastes, and the breakfast box we received on our departure day was clearly insufficient.

We had a wonderful experience with Trans Indus. The ground staff were so professional and caring. We felt completely safe at all times and with excellent guides and an amazing driver (Vikram) excellent selection of hotels and breath-taking sites it was a winning combination. Trans Indus are definitely who will travel with for our next visit to this exciting & evocative destination. Many thanks Peter & Julia November 2025

Well……… this certainly was the most incredible trip organised by Hari at TransIndus. The 3 1/2 weeks the two of us spent travelling in India were so well organised; had everything plus more with regards to interesting tours; the chance to buy some wonderful gifts for family and friends; eating in well-chosen restaurants; hunting out cafes that served ‘real’ coffee and being taken around by expert drivers who made us feel completely safe despite the many cows and dogs sitting in the middle of main roads and casually walking across carriageways!
Our guides knew everything we needed to know about the sights they took us to and were always looking out for us when crossing roads or walking in crowded places. They were all just brilliant!
Our homestays and hotels were perfect with delicious breakfasts and sometimes evening meals.
We were worried about getting the infamous ‘Delhi-belly’ but took our own water bottles that filter and clean any water (didn’t try the Ganges!) and ate the fabulous curd yoghurt every day. Not a hint of anything! Brought all the stomach pills and potions back with us.
A trip of a lifetime.
We were recommended to use TransIndus by a friend - we would forward that recommendation to anyone who wants to really see and understand the fabulous country that is India.

This was our fifth wonderful tour with TransIndus, we so enjoyed Tea Gardens and Eastern Himalaya. The tour was expertly organised by Brijesh and the entire team in India looked after us so well and carefully. The itinerary ran seamlessly even the weather enabled us to see Kanchenjunga at sunrise and Everest on the horizon. We thoroughly recommend TransIndus for a great trip in Asia.

We have just been been on a group tour to the golden triangle and Kerala, and it was really marvellous. The tour took in all the sites without us feeling rushed the guides were all terrific (the one in Jaipur had shown the president of France around the week before). We were there for Diwali and went to a really super Gala night as part of the tour, one of the best parties I’ve ever been to. I would recommend this company.

We have just returned from a 31 day tour of Vietnam & the Islands of Raja Ampat, organised by TransIndus. My contact Roop was great - he understood what we wanted to achieve from our trip and always responded promptly to my queries. We were particularly impressed that, although our trip around the Islands of Raja Ampat was booked through a separate company, TransIndus were still prepared and able to book the flights to and from Indonesia to make this happen! As it was our first visit to Vietnam we had feedback regarding the itinerary and how we might have changed it with hindsight which, as a company, they were very ready to take on board. As with life, some guides were better than others, but logistically everything went very smoothly and we felt "looked after" at every stage. Therefore, we would not hesitate in recommending TransIndus and would certainly use them again ourselves!

I have recently returned from a tailor-made trip to mainland India and the Andaman Islands, through TransIndus. My discussions to put the trip together were professionally handled in a friendly manner, all my questions were answered comprehensively and the proposed intinerary, based on those discussions, covered all that I was looking for.
All arrangements went without a hitch. For part of the trip I had a guide and at other times I made my own arrangements. Local representatives, guides and drivers were first rate. It was clear that everyone I met was both knowledgeable and attentive. Guides were flexible as to the time spent at locations and my time with them was more of a conversation, as opposed to being the recipient of a lecture. All possessed a sense of humour! Hotels were well situated and comfortable.
In summary, I could not have wished for better handling of my requiremets and I have no hesitation in recommending this company to others.

Transindus arranged a bespoke trip to Ladakh for 2 of us, early in the year. The planning was meticulous and the trip was all we could have wanted, but when the return trip was made complicated by the closure of Leh airport due to hostilities, their local contacts went above and beyond in arranging alternative transportation.
Transindus has always been a thoroughly helpful company.

A very BEAUTIFULLY organised trip around India (in aeroplane, bus, train, taxi) visiting Kolkata, Lucknow, Agra, Shimla, Delhi. Excellent luxurious hotels with excellent staff and very good food. A full and interesting programme, visiting the most important places with the very well prepared guides, especially RAKESH, Aakash, Ash. We appreciated the really good pack lunches and the all the informations ( leaflets, materials) .
Many thanks to AGOMONI because she did a great and difficult job, to organise everything in detail. We will return to India (we took 5 year Visas), and for sure, we will use the agent travel TRANSINDUS. Congratulations to all who participated to realise this great project "IN THE STEPS OF SHERLOCK HOLMES IN INDIA"
Many thanks again!

I was one of the pilgrims on The Sherlock Holmes Society of London's recent expedition to India, visiting Kolkata, Lucknow, Agra, Delhi and Shimla.
I was really impressed with TransIndus - with the way the onsite team (special mention to Rakesh!) looked after us throughout the tour, with their care and attention to detail, with their knowledgeable enthusiastic guides, with their extensive local knowledge enabling us to see a wide range of cultural highlights and, above all, with the way their tailored the tour and the itinerary to the groups interest ie English/India connections, Victorian connections, British Raj connections, and connections to the stories of Sherlock Holmes.
We had a couple of unforgettable magical experiences, including classical music and Kathak dance at a Maharajah's palace, with the bonus of meeting the Maharajah and his lovely family; and performing a radio play at Bishop Cotton school in Shimla, the acting company combining members of our group and boys from the school.
The whole trip was the experience of a lifetime, with many magical moments, and I shall always remember the wonderful adventures we had.
Thank you to all the TransIndus staff team - special mentions to Agomoni in London and Rakesh in India.

The Sherlock Holmes Society of London has long wanted to organise a trip to India for its members but could do this only with the support of a professional travel operator.
I was the leader of this project on behalf of the Society, from selecting and commissioning a suitable travel operator to leading the trip, now completed.
Our requirements were particular: as well as visiting sights of interest, we were keen that the trip had a Sherlockian feel, embracing some of the features of India at the time when Sherlock Holmes might have visited.
TransIndus proved to be an outstanding partner for us in this project, from the thoughtful proposal they submitted 18 months before the trip; through the many meetings and exchanges we had to shape the trip; to the exceptional support they provided during the trip, gaining us privileged access to many sights of interest and accommodating variations to the itinerary.
We advertised this to our members as 'the trip of a lifetime'; TransIndus more than helped us achieve this ambitious objective.

Thank you very much for a wonderful holiday, organized on behalf of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London. You provided us with the right mix of adventure, insights, unique experiences (who can organize a tram in Kolkata?) and wonderful accommodation and entertainment - thanks to you we met a Raj! That is unique, at least for a Swiss. We hope to return to return to India and hope to do go on another amazing journey with you. Markus and Helen

Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We went to lengths to find Roop who had previously booked holidays for us and we found him at Transindus. Wonderful service - All land arrangements went off without a hitch. People there to meet us at all points. Drivers and guides brilliant. Tickets for necessary journeys provided. They checked with us several times to make sure everything was ok. Hotels as described before departure - some of them exceeding expectations. Well balanced itinerary - another amazing holiday in enchanting India.

The communication about the trip before departure was helpful especially about visas. In India there was a team that took care of all the details and allowed us to enjoy all the sites. It was fun to experience all modes for transportation including rickshaw, tuk tuk, subway, railroads, luxury bus on tollways and domestic flights. We got to access to special sites including prestigious public schools that allowed presentations and interactions with students. We also had dinners at private clubs and special tours of several museums.

The tour was brilliantly organized with a plethora of events, both sightseeing trips and evening occasions. Agamoni was extremely helpful at the London end, replying to my never-ending stream of queries with inexhaustible patience and even permitted me to phone her at home on a Sunday to deal with pressing matters. Rakesh at the Indian end was supremely efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. The hotels and their staff were unfailingly friendly and polite. The tour guides were all erudite and entertaining. All in all an extraordinary experience.

These words cannot begin to convey how much we enjoyed our recent trip to Tamil Nadu organised by Agomoni and the team. Agomoni quickly replied to our queries during planning whatever the day or time. The itinerary gave us a great insight and feel for this part of India; cities, countryside, hill station and coast, history, everyday life and yes lots of temples. Each day was filled with fabulous experiences, energy, lovely people, great food and wonderful memories.
As the itinerary came to life we experienced more than we could have hoped for. Our driver, Shiju, expertly brought everything together, calmly and professionally taking us along our route, answering our many and varied questions, introducing us to life along the way and coordinating with each of our local guides. The guides were all good with excellent knowledge and a passion for sharing that with us. The Kerala office contacted us several times to check all was well so we never felt alone or unsure.
The hotels were great. It’s hard to pick a favourite but the cgh earth hotels were at the top. Marli Hill bungalow in Ooty was special and our regret was we only had one night here. Having driven the 36 hairpin bends up into the hills and then finding such lovely accommodation with hindsight we should have had two nights in Ooty - it’s a lot more than a one night stand.
Visalam and the whole Chettinad area was very special and we were sorry to leave but then that experience was topped by Mantra Koodam, so beautiful and peaceful. The Residence de Leveshe in Pondicherry, a quirky three bedroom house, soon became our own little home for three nights - were we in India or France? The staff were so welcoming and helpful and each morning chefs would arrive to prepare our breakfast, a wonderful start to each day.
Thank you TransIndus for helping us make this trip happen and for so many wonderful memories to add to our love of India. We were already thinking of where next in India before we left, wherever it is it will be with TransIndus.
