Purchasing Process

The process of purchasing the SIM cards was a very simple process. The cards arrived on time. We have not yet used the cards so we do not know how effective they will be. Will report on our return on October 2023.

The card did not work on my older…

The card did not work on my older IPhone SE in Turkey. With all details configured, I got the power bars as if there was a signal, but it could not connect

Thankfully it was cheap

Easy to use but Misleading Website and Rude and Unhelpful Customer Service

Its very easy to use, the sim connected automatically everywhere we used it in the Caribbean (except in Sint Maarten where we couldn't get connection with any sim / network). and it is reasonably good value. However ...

The website is very misleading about the use of credits on your sim. It says in the FAQ section "Tip! Once you have your SIM card with its initial credit you can convert part or all of that credit into a Data Plan!"

This is not true:
a) if you have some remaining "normal" credit but not enough to buy a data plan bundle they will charge you the full cost for the new data plan leaving you with the remaining credit which can only be used for the much more expensive PAYG rates.

When I questioned customer service by email about why this was they just ignored my question and kept sending the same reply "We inform you that you cannot use up the Bonus to purchase a new data bundle" - I was not wanting to use the Bonus but wanted to use the original credit

b) Any bonus that you get for adding credit (eg the €10 bonus for buying a €50 credit) cannot be used to buy a data plan bundle you can only use it for the much more expensive PAYG rates, this is probably reasonable but it is not stated anywhere in the terms and conditions or on the website!

I'm still wairing for my sim cardd

I'm still wairing for my sim card, in the mail. It's been over 3 weeks since i ordered with you. The order was placed Feb 24th, now it's Feb 16th, and still waiting for delivery.

Caribbean 1Gb data card.

I purchased a 1Gb data card for the Caribbean for use on a 2 week cruise. I was aware that some islands visited were not covered, used the card for basic messaging and emails and it only just lasted the cruise, it seemed to eat the data much faster than I would have expected. I did not watch video, download music or indeed upload pictures…a bit disappointed.

The value of the ordered SIM card expires before I my vacation starts :(

Hi, the validity period of your SIM card begins from your first connection to the network if is it a new SIM card that you received. Otherwise, when you purchase a data plan, the validity period begins from the day of purchase.

Only connected with 3G i.e. Useless to to on internet ! Very disapponting

Didn’t work, unhelpful customer service

Bought it for my car and it didn’t work, customer service tells me to try in a different car, I only have one car so not sure where they want me to get another from. Unhelpful, and a waste of money and time in my case

Good Customer Service

I received my sim in the mail (United States) and activated it in my MiFi device to ensure everything is working for my trip to Europe.
The 3G of data on the sim was set to expire 9 days after my arrival in Europe. I should have waited to activate the sim, but I wanted to ensure everything was all set up (communication between the MiFi device and my mobile phone) and working.
I requested an extension on the expiration date of the 3G of data, and it was granted!
Thanks Transatel, so far so good!
