Beware of returns at Trailhead
As a gift, I received a Yeti Mug from Trailhead. I didn't use it as it was too big for the cupholder in the car. I exchanged it for a Yeti Travel mug and paid the difference. I used it for a week and found the travel mug only kept coffee hot for a few hours. I expected for the price of $47, it would be equivalent or better than other travel mugs and thermoses that can keep liquid hot 6-8 hours. I cleaned it thoroughly and went back to return it within 7 days. The manager of the store at the Carling location in Ottawa, apologized many times but refused to exchange the product as "I had used it" and that Trailhead wouldn't be able to resell the product. I underlined that I had to use it to find out that I was not happy with the product and that it must be defective if it only kept liquid hot for 2 hours. Nowhere on the receipt did it say "final sale" rather, on the receipt, it stated I had 30 days to return the product. I was not after a refund, I was willing to use the cost of the travel mug towards a $200 pair of shoes. The manager dug in his heals. So in the end I give the Yeti cup one star (the seal on the cup is very good) and I give Trailhead 0 stars for selling substandard products and for not honouring the refund policy on the receipt.
