Poor product and experience
I felt quite excited about buying a custom relaxed "Linen Sand" roman blind from Tori Murphy, but unfortunately I found the experience and product disappointing.
I ordered the blind on Monday 2 December specifically so it would arrive in time for guests this Christmas. It did arrive in time, but the fabric was damaged. I also noticed that they'd sent me a normal roman blind instead of the relaxed roman blind I had ordered.
Tori Murphy did get a replacement sent out quickly, to their credit - although it arrived closer to Christmas than I had planned, so it was a rush for us to get it installed in time! The replacement was also the correct product I ordered. However, in my opinion I do not think the blind is really worth the approx. £700 I paid for it. It is acceptable, but in future I will go to a local seamstress for a higher-quality blind for a much more reasonable price.
The final frustrating part of my experience was the collection of the faulty and incorrect blind Tori Murphy had first sent. They arranged for DHL to collect. DHL then proceeded to contact me by both email and text message on:
- Friday 13 December
- Monday 16 December
- Tuesday 17 December
- Thursday 19 December
- Friday 20 December
In all of these messages, I was informed DHL would collect the faulty blind from me that day, and I was given an hour slot to be home for collection.
I arranged to be home for these times - but every single day no-one came to collect. This caused me issues with my employer, as you can imagine. I let Tori Murphy know how inconvenient this was, and that I did not have room to store the faulty blind over Christmas.
Eventually, on Saturday 21 December, Tori Murphy confirmed I could dispose of the faulty blind myself. There was no gesture of good will for the inconvenience and poor service I had received, the time I had to take from work to be available for collections that Tori Murphy arranged but then did not happen, and the effort I had to make to dispose of the faulty blind myself days before Christmas.
So, I do have a blind, but I do not think the product itself or the overall experience was worth what I paid. I would not purchase from Tori Murphy again in future, and I would not recommend them to anyone else.
