I tried moving my catalog to Too Lost from another distributor starting with a single already-released album. After a week of being in "Pending" status, the album was put in a "Needs docs" blackhole where they don't tell you specifically what the issue is or what documentation they need. I made the assumption that I needed to verify ownership of my album, so I uploaded my ASCAP registration. A week went by with no updates. The lack of clarity and communication over a simple album transfer was enough to get me to move on to another distributor. I cancelled my subscription but they won't give me a refund.

2 years it went from good to bad they take all your money and freeze up the account. Let me say look at these 5 star reviews ........they post all at same time. They ask us to leave 5 stars but look at them half of them are from they own people that work there!!!!! I met Jake I think he junked and it seem like they all frauds .

Very hands on approach. Clean interface. Friendly customer support. Transparent royalty reports. Everything you want in an indie distributor.

THIEVES. I uploaded a lot of music with TooLost and got millions of streams, conveniently they terminated my account just as I was due to receive my first royalties being paid out. I have been in touch and they pointed me to the anti fraud policy (I didn't do anything wrong) in there it says they will keep my money (tens of thousands of dollars) in escrow for a maximum of 5 years.
RIDICULOUS. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Me and my friend been using too lost almost a year now and everything has been going pretty well until now. At the end of August we requested the money, we waited for 2 weeks because too lost usually takes 2 weeks to proceed the payout request and give you the money, but after 2 weeks we got nothing. I wrote an email to too lost if there is an issue or something and they said that "We can confirm that this payout has been processed on our end. If you have not received this payout, please re-submit this request by creating a "Payout Issues" ticket through the support portal of your account here: toolost. c o m/support". So after that we created a support ticket but still no answers to that. Me and my friend brushed it off by saying that we hopefully get paid by next month, so September came. At the end of September we requested the money, we waited for 2 weeks but nothing again. We contacted to the support 1 week ago about that, but no answers, too lost support usually take up to 5-7 days to write back but they left us with no answers. So right now Too Lost owes us $2444, and if we dosent get any money by the end of this month, they will owe us around $3200. So we dont really know whats happening right now because until now everything been going really well. I recommend not buying Too Lost because it can scam you anytime! And if you using Too Lost right now I recommend ending the subscription and move your songs to another distro. Today at 2025.10.24 we got banned from Too Lost. So yeah they scammed us with $2444. If anyone reads this PLEASE NEVER BUY TOO LOST. It's a scam. At the first couple of months they pay you, but after you surpess minimum $1200 monthly they scam you. And the scary part is that big artists use this shit such as Lil Mabu and UnoTheActivist. So yeah please never buy Too Lost, and If u are using Too Lost right now, prepare for a account ban.

Having distributed music on other platforms, can say that Too Lost has by far the best platform on the market. Easy to use, support is great and lots of extra features that other platforms don't offer.

Been using Too Lost for a year now and have had nothing but a positive experience. The A&R team (shoutout Jake Silverman) has been so helpful in making sure my catalog and releases are optimized. Definitely the best UX of any distributor as well.

My first experience with TooLost was when I submitted a song for release and they responded with "Documentation Needed". When I responded back with "documentation for what specifically?" Instead of telling me exactly what was needed, they said that the documentation I provided was insufficient and closed the ticket. Interesting response since I didn't provide any additional documentation. I would have gladly provided what was needed, if the could have told me specifically. I will be cancelling TooLost immediately. Very, very poor customer care!

I received a notification that a ticket was opened regarding my release stating “Documentation Needed”. Digging further, the explanation was “Your release requires documentation or further clarification. This is typically due to your release containing detected samples and/or audio matches found in the global music rights database. You can also head on over to help.toolost.com to review our release guidelines.
Please provide documentation to us by selecting "Needs Documentation" within our system's ticketing section here:
The explanation says “This is typically due to your release containing detected samples and/or audio matches found in the global music rights database.” It doesn’t say that my release definitely contains… etc.
My response back to you via the ticket was: “As noted in my comments for the release, the melody and vocals are AI, the lyrics are original and authored by me. Specifically, do you need documentation for the melody, vocals, or the lyrics? If documentation is needed for the lyrics, what could I provide? A notarized statement? As for the melody and vocals, they are AI generated. If that is the case, I do not have any rights to them. Does that mean that I cannot use AI-generated melody and vocals with my lyrics?” Release ID: 887650
Your response was: “Unfortunately, we are unable to validate that you control the rights to release this content based on the evidence you provided. If you have more documentation that proves you have the necessary rights to distribute this content, please proceed to try again with a new document.” and then you closed the ticket!
________________________________________
I didn’t provide any evidence, because I don’t know for what specifically, and you didn’t bother to respond to my question!
My question to you is this: how can I provide documentation when I don’t know what aspect of the release it is supposed to apply to? Do you require documentation for the melody? For the vocals? For the lyrics? Or for something else regarding the release?

Hello there,
There is no one piece of documentation that we recommend. You can provide a variety of documents, contracts, or screenshots that highlight your ownership of the content.
Please let us know if there is anything else that we can help answer.
At this time, we can make no guarantees about AI content and if it will be delivered to stores and services. We recommend that you attach any and all documentation you may have to support the claim of it being an authentic release for our Quality Control team to review.
There are a variety of factors our QC team takes into account when reviewing AI material. Many stores and services have their own policies surrounding this type of content, which we have to make sure we are abiding by.
As stated above, please submit any documentation you have that can show the authenticity and ownership of the release, and our QC team will review it right away.
Best,
Too Lost Support Team

I wanted to include my response on this date, but unfortunately there is a limitation on the number of characters. Bottom line of my response: no idea what to provide, am cancelling my subscription.

Working with the TooLost team over the past few years has been an exceptional experience, especially compared to other distribution companies I’ve collaborated with as a manager and independent label owner. I have worked closely with Nikki, as an A&R, she has played a pivotal role in helping me scale my roster, demonstrating remarkable attentiveness to all my needs and questions. Jennifer and Jheanelle have also provided outstanding support, seamlessly helping me manage any needs related to my high-volume release schedule. I highly recommend the TooLost team for their professionalism, dedication, and eagerness to continue to fuel the creator economy.

My experience as a customer with TooLost was extremely disappointing. I felt that I was treated disrespectfully and that customer service and client relations were severely lacking. During an audit I conducted, I discovered inconsistencies that were later addressed only after being pointed out, which damaged my trust in the company.
What could have made a difference was a sincere apology and a demonstration of respect and accountability — unfortunately, that did not happen. My opinion remains the same as in my previous review, and TooLost’s response only reinforced my concerns. Their replies appear automated and direct customers back to support, which is exactly where the problem began.

My Label Account got deleted without further notice.
I had 15+ Clients on this Account.
I get ignored by the Support and now i am here and i can't pay my Clients anymore.
I can just advice to everyone that thinks about running a Label with Too Lost to go somewhere else. There are many other Plattforms.

The process to resolve my issue took entirely too long for something as simple as tax documents. Especially considering I had already done everything on my end. In the end, it got resolved so I wouldn’t give a one star review but a five star review wasn’t earned.

-Support is slow.
- I noticeably have less revenue share, comparing to other services.
-Most of the functions are unusable in the end.
-Mediocre, cheap not for indy artists
-All focused on mainstream
Will switch as my paid plan wears out

I subscribed on September 18th I haven’t been able to use my account at all. I have a label plan but no label options. Every time I go to release it denies every label name and no one else has it. I’ve tried on every device I could think of desktop computer to iPhone. Nothing works. It says resolve issue every time I’ve told support like 20 times. Sent screenshots screen recordings, ChatGPT info. Nothing helps or works. Supports is terrible worst of the worst. Responds a week later maybe. Always a vague automated type of answer. Nothing ever helps or works. Almost like talking to an old windows 95. All the perks and features sounds amazing if you ever get to use them. I’ve heard a lot of people have had metadata and other issues with unresponsive help. This is horrible because the price and features sounds explosive but I literally brought a subscription hoping to start my career only to browse the dashboard and wait a month for support. What’s even crazier is my subscription is almost due again and all I’ve done is wait on support to give me nothing. And I bet I’ll get more from posting this than I receive once a week from support. All the things you advertise means absolutely nothing if you have issues using the most important service you provide. I went from being very optimistic to back to square one looking for a very similar distribution company with REAL AND HUMAN SUPPORT! The fact that the review will get what seems like a concerning response is insane, being a subscriber and contacting them every way possible. A big suggestion get a contact number….You’re dealing with thousands of people trusting your company with their craft, pride and joy, as well as financial transactions, marketing, etc. This has been a complete waste of time. Whatever money your company is making, how about have 24/7 support, hell even prioritized support and technical assistance.

Toolost feels different. The platform is super clean and modern, and the team actually cares. Lucas has been fantastic every step of the way. Zay does my playlist pitching amongst plenty of other lovely people at Toolost, and they all do such a good job at making me feel like I matter, despite being one of hundreds of thousands of artists. It’s rare to find a distributor that feels this personal and easy to work with. If I have any problems, they are resolved in real time. The features are top-tier, too, including Discovery Mode, playlist pitching, and effortless splits. Couldn’t recommend them more.
