Loving My New Look - Thanks to Gino
I’ve been coming to Toni & Guy for a some time now to have my haircut with Gino, and he is excellent as always, I’m always very happy with the results and the professional service he provides.
However, I was quite disappointed during my recent visit when it came to the hair wash. The basin I was shown to was full of hair and product residue - it looked very unhygienic, dirty and honestly quite unpleasant (“very yuck”). When I mentioned this to the young lady who's about to wash my hair (sorry, I don’t know her name), she told me to use another basin but unfortunately, that one was in the same condition. I had no choice but to continue, though I felt very uncomfortable and concerned about cleanliness.
I also feel that the young girls who assist with the hair washing could improve their customer service skills. A friendlier and more attentive polite attitude would make a big difference to the overall experience.
Gino’s work is outstanding, and that’s why I continue to come back to Toni & Guy. I just hope the salon can take more care with hygiene and staff training so that every part of the visit reflects the same high standard that Gino always provides.

Terrible experience. Should I blame the shop or Royal Mail? Either way , they are aware that I haven’t received the ordered item. Apparently it has been returned to them so at least if you are not resending it credit my account.
When I next have my hair done in a few weeks at your franchised shop, do you think that I will wait until my hair is finished and then refuse to pay? That is effectively what you are doing.
I now have found the problem. You have sent my package via Royal Mail. It has been delivered to Leamington Spa and therefore you have washed your hands of the problem. I live in St Albans. It has been effectively stolen. Stop using thi delivery service, refund my money and I may be vaguely content. A month waiting, no response from you , never again
They ruined my hair
I went to get my thick curly hair cut into small layers but they cut chunks out my hair and my hair is ruined because of them and I've went before and it was fine because I had straightened my hair
My mum was charged £30.00 for being unwell
My mum had an appointment booked but fell ill at the last minute and wanted to rearrange (not cancel) her appointment, however not only was the store she was going to closed the day before the appointment, but she also was then charged £30.00 for a cancellation fee, which is awful considering it's not her fault she became ill!! What makes it worse is that she couldn't even remove her card details from her account to prevent the payment going through - what kind of customer service is that where the customer is being penalised for being unwell??? We got in touch with the customer service number and they wouldn't pick up and so now she's anxiously awaiting a £30 charge for an appointment she didn't want to cancel, just rearrange. Absolutely shocking, especially in this day and age when things are expensive enough as it is!
Can’t do layers on thick Asian hair
Friendly staff, however Toni & Guy hairdressers aren’t trained to do thick straight Asian (Japanese/Chinese/Korean) hair and don’t know how to do layers. They make you pay more for having thick hair too. Very overpriced for basic blunt cuts.
Toni and Guy Leatherhead
I called Toni and Guy Leatherhead to book an all over hair colour today at a cost of £80. I asked if it was possible to not have a blow dry. My hair is very naturally curly and I prefer to see the finished results as I would naturally wear it. I asked if it could be just dried but not styled. I was rudely told that I would have to have a blow dry and pay an extra £30 on top and the best they could do if I didn’t want that finish was to get ‘their most junior technician to literally just blast it dry’.
I think Toni and Guy need to move with the times and accept different hair types and ethnicities. Not everyone’s hair conforms to the standard straight type. Some customer service training would also be good.
