Been a customer from Feb,took some time to set up bill .But customer service was always happy to pick call fast without long wait.
Knew from first month company may stop as my friend who tried signing up said this company not taking new users.
But billing was simple and fare not like confusing ones of other.
5p at night helped charging car, moving dishwasher time and clothes washing at night saved plenty.Not sure which company to move now

Just read about Tomato Energy ceasing trading. I'm sorry to hear this as they have been really good to me. It's never a good time for people to loose jobs but even worse coming into the festive period. Hope anyone that does loose their job finds something quickly.
The writing was on the wall when Ofgem issued them with that fine, no one is coming back from that, Ofgem looking after the big boys again.
Tomatoe energy gone bust...and if the third party installer they used, close too then my solar system is without any protection...thanks for wasting my money
Expecting that it may prove to be a tedious process over the phone in getting to the bottom of a technical glitch affecting our customer portal access for all 14 different micro-business electricity supplies we have under contract with Tomato Energy, it was so refreshing to receive instead a calm, friendly and professional response from Pargat. Having tried several avenues to resolve the issue himself, in vain, he explained clearly what he thought the cause may be and that he had elevated the issue as a high priority to the relevant team for further investigation and follow-up. That is an ongoing process. I only hope that this can be dealt with in the same efficient manner as was exhibited by Pargat at the initial stage!
I am currently still waiting to speak to someone at Tomato Energy for businesses my phone has recorded over 1 hour and 50 minutes and still waiting to speak to somebody

Been a customer since early 2024 and you've been brilliant on prices and the staff have always been receptive.
Obviously there are concerns going forward regarding what will happen at tomato as a customer but that is nothing compared to what the current employees must be going through.
I hope that everything goes well and the business continues to operate but should the worst happen then I wish everyone at tomato the very best of luck going forward and a speedy recovery in the jobs market.

I’ve been with Tomato for a year now - their pricing is the best I’ve found, and their service has also been really good. Can see all my usage in the app, and never had an issue with billing.
Contacted them this week to arrange a house move, and based on other reviews was expecting a long call hold time. But phone answered straight away, and dealt with very efficiently.
This review is based on my personal experience. I worked for this company for a month in the Wolverhampton office and I left as soon as I saw how it was being run and I was right. They are now going into administration and have been heavily fined by OFGEM. Bye bye Tomato energy CR-2025-LDS-001032
I have been with tomato energy since July 2024 with just a few hiccups at the start. but since them they have been great .easy to get in touch with and all the staff have been always helpful. My energy cost have almost been half compared to the big energy companies .So it saddens me to have to change to another provider because of all uncertainty at the moment .I hope it all works out, and if that is the case I will come straight back to them.good look and thankyou to all the staff at tomato energy
Whilst I understand Tomato are going through a tough period, I have been with them since Jan 2025 and have had a really great experience, the prices have been some of the best in the market and their TOU tariffs have saved me a small fortune having an EV.
The transfer from Octopus was problem free and so has the billing ever since, only once I have needed to call their CS and after 10-15 mins waiting my query was dealt with by a very polite and clear to understand rep.
So it's a shame they are having these problems and maybe it was to good to be true as looking at other offerings in the market if Tomato do fold then my bills are going to increase, we need these small players to challenge the big boys just like Octopus were at one time and look at them today. Fingers crossed they can turn this around but it's not looking good and I may be forced to start looking elsewhere which is a real shame.

Don't set up any direct debits, get ready to move supplier if you're with this outfit. Ofgem has imposed a £1.5m fine three days ago and on the same day Tomato has served intention of appointing administrators under case number CR-2025-LDS-001032 if others want to check out that case. I feel bad for those about to lose their jobs, I saw this coming over a year ago and it's immoral how only now we're seeing their tangled web falling apart. Those who contributed to the false positive reviews as a former staff member admitted are complicit in the downfall of this company as this has misled others. The only small consolation is they didn't really operate credit accounts with retail consumers so there won't be much consumer money lost (even though credit is always refunded when a supplier collapses, we all still pay for it anyway which is why standing charges have been so high since the energy crisis started).

Too good to be true. The pricing structure looked great, and there it stops.
Zero comms, setting up direct debit using my bank details after I left them, continuous bill follow ups despite me having sent numerous emails.
I feel for the staff who will lose their jobs, but the exec team have shamelessly allowed this to happen.
My email from June below which was 'raised as a ticket' as per their automated response. It also referenced an SLA, which is not published anywhere. All I can image is it is a a very lengthy SLA give 4 months have now passed...
To add no change of supplier readings in the bill, not allowing for old/new supplier read validation.
Absolute amateurs.
What on earth are you doing setting up a direct debit on my account when I left you over 4 months ago?
Added to this I've received no DD guarantee, no 10 days notice of debit, and also attach the only bill you've ever sent me, despite chasing you up too.
I left you very quickly as it very quickly became apparent that your whole operation was disastrous, which is not doubt why Ofgem have an open case against you.
I didn't receive any welcome pack etc. Wherever you could've gone wrong, you have gone wrong, if there were a trophy for worst energy supplier you'd win, no doubt about that.
Direct Debit has been cancelled. Do not set this up again.
Go back, send all the missing comms to me and the final bill, and I will pay what is owed. So adhere to your operating licence. You should surely know comms you should've sent since I signed up.
You are an absolute shambles.

Finally filing for administration, if you can believe the Facebook user group. Massive debts, and no way out. Check you are up to date with your cheap bills, the administrators may use different numbers..
Saves, waiting for them to open up to new customers, anyway.

I am beyond delighted with Tomato energy I can’t tell you how much it changed our life. We are all electric and our bills were £1900 during peak months but by changing to tomato energy it changed us to £900 a month as it’s so flexible and so easy to use and the guys on the end of the phone so helpful. Tomato energy have literally allowed us to live as £1000 a month saving, thank you guys for looking after us.
