Company Collects Sensitive Information and Documents, Then Withdraws Job Offer
TotalMed extended a job offer and required execution of an employment contract. In reasonable reliance on this offer, I formally placed notice with my current employer. After the contract was executed, TotalMed requested and collected extensive and highly sensitive personal information, including copies of government-issued identification, a Social Security card, and current and prior addresses from the past year. After all requested documentation was submitted, TotalMed withdrew the job offer without a clear or adequate explanation.
This sequence of events raises serious concerns regarding the unnecessary and potentially improper collection of sensitive personal information, exposes me to risk of identity theft, and creates reasonable suspicion of fraudulent or deceptive practices.
