A massive thank you to Lisa (based in Worcester). We have just finished our antenatal classes with her and we have learnt so much.
Her wealth of knowledge from years of experience working as a midwife meant that she was able to answer all questions and give us honest advice on our future births.
Lisa extends her support outside of the group sessions and it was fabulous to have a chat when things started to get slightly complicated in my pregnancy.
The additions to the class (including photographer, biometrics, pelvic floor physio) were amazing.
The small group meant we got to know the other couples well and I’m sure we will all meet up once the little ones come along!
You can tell that Lisa is passionate about the work she does and that makes the sessions interesting and informative.

We opted for 1-1 antenatal sessions at home and the sessions were very informative and also very affordable. Sophie was warm, knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. We’re crossing our fingers that we might go into labour whilst Sophie is on shift at the hospital, because we would love to have a familiar face and Sophie is fantastic at her job. Highly recommended!

I recently completed the postnatal course and I honestly don’t know how I would have coped as a new mum without it. Sophie is just a wealth of knowledge, full of empathy and always willing to listen.
Even when I wasn’t ready to start on my original course date due to complications, she sent advice and information to help me until I could join the next course.

My husband and I attended the course run by Nikki (North Hants) and it was excellent. She ran the course in a lovely and relaxed setting and the small group size made it so much more intimate. She gave us reams of information but without it being overwhelming. We came away feeling very informed (and I felt much calmer for it). The sessions involved interactive activities and there was always time for questions.
We have nothing but positive things to say about the course content and Nikki and we would absolutely recommend this course to anyone.

Booking myself onto a course with The Village Midwife was one of the best decisions I've made. The course was so comprehensive and so well delivered. We had 1:1 antenatal classes at home with Sophie Gallant and had such a fantastic experience. Sophie explained everything in such a relaxed and informative way, without being patronising! We had the flexibility to spend more time on topics that interested us or those that we had less knowledge of and Sophie catered the sessions around this. The booklet and online resources have also been great to refer to in the weeks following. Would highly recommend, thank you Sophie!

Lovely course thank you and Anne was great.
I would have appreciated a small section on immediate postnatal care and expectations, to feel more equipped with how to advocate for oneself if in the hospital and how to cope with any of their restrictions.

We attended the first grandparents course in Wendover. It was really good to meet other new or soon to be grandparents.
We learnt such a lot and were surprised at how having a baby has changed in over 20 years.
Sophie and Sammy were brilliant and we learnt so much from baby led weaning to baby first aid.
Our granddaughter has now arrived and we are living every moment as she grows and changes.
Our daughter also attends post natal classes and I know how useful she finds them and how valuable it is to meet up with others who have babies of a similar age.

We took the group antenatal course in Feb 2024 and then the postnatal course more recently both run by Sophie Gallant in Hadleigh, Suffolk. Choosing the Village Midwife was the best decision we made. Sophie is an unbelievably kind, generous and empowering midwife. We learnt so much - the resources are amazing and we will revisit them with any future pregnancies. After the course we felt so informed and in control and no doubt this contributed to the positive birth experience that we had with our little boy. I was a bit nervous going with a smaller course (rather than the much larger well known provider) but as it’s taught by a local midwife it made sense to us. Sophie works in one of the local hospitals and knowing someone with first hand experience with the facilities, protocols etc. was so reassuring. We have also met such a fantastic group of like minded couples (+babies) and continue to stay in touch with each other.

We would absolutely recommend the Village Midwife course to other local couples. Thank you Sophie.

A fanatic course that i would recommend to everyone. Sophie is absolutely amazing and informative. She also comes with a winning personality. If you’re thinking about booking, just book. You won’t regret it.

Fantastic antenatal course, well taught and lots of takeaway materials. Mixture of hands on and theory, Sophie was able to answer every question and Pointed us in the direction of trusted specialists if we needed further advice/action. Our classes were with Sophie in Wendover.

My partner and I took part in Taunton Village midwife and have enjoyed every part of it. Thank you to Kate for guiding us through this amazing adventure. We have learned so much and are now feeling ready and excited for our due date. Kate is passionate in what she does and it is a joy to hear her transfer her knowledge and experience to us new parents.

The village Midwife is also a great way to meet new parents and sharing thoughts on pregnancy. I would recommend to any new parent an antenatal class with Kate. Thank you again :)

Myself and my partner attended 4 sessions held by Nikki at The Village Midwife at her home and they were amazing!
We’re soon to be first time parents and were feeling very anxious on labour and the first few weeks after birth but we’ve come away from the classes feeling so much more relaxed and confident! Each session was informative and interactive and Nikki was a brilliant teacher! She encouraged us to ask questions and share any worries or concerns we had. Even after our sessions have finished, Nikki followed up with emails with lots of information regarding each session, with links to review. Furthermore, Nikki has said we are able to contact her with any further questions or queries we may have.
We were on the course with 4 other couples and we have a separate WhatsApp group for the mums which is amazing! I can’t recommend these sessions enough! Thank you Nikki! X

We had such a lovely experience with Nikki and learnt so much ahead of our birth! It was lovely to meet others that we can carry on our journey with and Nikki just made the whole experience warm, welcoming and exciting. We were keen for the holistic, positive, hypnobirthing experience and Nikki was perfect for this. Couldn’t recommend more!

Our midwife Lisa was AMAZING and we could not have wished for more from this course! She always went above and beyond to help us all and the sessions were so informative and enjoyable. It was a perfect mix of practical and non-practical activities with time to answer the questions on our mind.

My husband and I really enjoyed the course with Jenni. I had done a lot of research already, but found there was so much more to learn and I am so glad we took the course which left us feeling supported, informed and positive about our new adventure! I loved how I felt I could ask any question and there was no judgement. The extra information sent after each session was really useful and the fun, lighthearted (but educational) activities were also great to help us relax. My only constructive criticism would be that we would have liked a bit more time on the labour tools such as using the birth ball, breathing and natural pain relief maybe having a bit more practical time to help us learn and apply the skills as a team. However the course and course booklet are great and filled with a wealth of information and so we do feel that we have enough information to go and practice ourselves at home. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience, we shall actually miss getting up early on a Saturday to come and learn with Jenni and the other couples!
