I've been grappling with an overseas VAT problem for a while. I tried to get an answer from another company but they wanted to set up a telephone conference etc and it was all too much of a faff. The VAT people contacted me almost immediately after I lodged my online query and told me what I needed to know. No charge at all. Absolutely marvellous to deal with such a straightforward company. I would be delighted to deal with them in the future, even with a charge!

Tax is complicated, but VAT has its own level of complexity. I had a difficult client VAT issue, and approached TVP for guidance. I didn't get the answers that I would have liked, but Steve kept things simple and endorsed my plan to soften the blow for my client. All this, and no charge! Thank you, Steve.

Having had a VAT claim denied I contacted Tamara at the VAT people. She was very informative on the call and took the matter in hand to resolve. Her communication with the Inland revenue and myself was excellent and the decision was reversed and the claim accepted. I thought their handling of the matter and service was exceptional.

I am the owner of a small business, and Rob at the VAT People was recommended to me by my accountant. I can honestly say that the service that I're received so far from Rob is of a very high standard. All questions were answered in a clear, concise and timely manner on more than one occasion. No contact has been made so far (7th of July), but honestly, I do not want it now.

Having phoned Rob McCann of The VAT People for advice, which he talked through with us on the phone, he then prepared a full report for our particular situation, having carefully gone through all the information we gave him. We found the whole process very thorough and efficient. We felt confident we were dealing with someone who was professional and knowledgeable about VAT and HMRC.
We would certainly recommend The VAT People to anyone who has a knotty problem with regard to VAT.

You don’t quite know where you are with a Vat Assessment, until it’s too late. It was around Christmas when I contacted Tamara. Then she was in hospital, I thought my case was not worth pursuing. As a small business I had co-operated (perhaps too much?) with the Vat officers, yet things got worse for me. I knew the assessment was unrealistic. With all my contact and correspondence with HMRC, I had done my best. Even at this late stage, Tamara was able to get hold of extra information I did not have. She worked on all the data – found duplication's, credible explanations and supporting evidence of the assessment. The best part was that she did all the negotiations with HMRC and the quality of her letters to them was excellent - very thorough and professional. She was able to reduce the assessment by 63% plus a suspension of penalties. I thought these consultants would be too expensive for me, but she proved her worth and more. Perhaps I should have got them involved earlier?

Tamara and the VAT people have consistently provided us with an excellent service. The advice provided has always been well thought through, comprehensive and thorough. Tamara has also delivered an very good day of training, which was perfectly tailored to the needs of our business.

Seems they only work with billion-pound companies as far as their success stories go.

Wouldn't recommend to a relatively new or smaller business. A waste of a good domain name...
