The Ute Shop - Strike 2 OUT
Strike 2 - OUT
Had a replacement TJM alloy bull bar installed by the Ute Shop as part of an insurance claim.
The bodyworks contracted the installation of the bull bar to the Ute Shop. I've had a previous bad experience with the Ute Shop when they took 3 attempts to install an EGR RollTrac electric roll cover properly. Needless to say, based on my previous experience, I wasn't keen for the Ute Shop to do the work and expressed this to the body works. TJM Caloundra provided a very professional service with the initial install, and I wanted TJM to do the reinstall, but was told that I didn't have a choice.
When I collected the vehicle, I found that the indicators were malfunctioning, the crash collision camera and the crash avoidance systems were malfunctioning. It turns out that the Ute Shop had wired up the LHS indicator resistors incorrectly, (i.e. positive to positive). They blamed TJM Caloundra, however, the issues only started after the Ute Shop installed the replacement bull bar.
An Isuzu scheduled service then found one of the bull bar spacing shim plates "floating" in the engine bay.
I was getting some unrelated work undertaken by TJM Caloundra and asked them to run their eyes over the bull bar installation.
They found that the Use Shop had failed to install the alignment/shear pins. This is a crucial component of the bull bar and is the last part of the installation before the cover base plates are installed.
They also found that all the wiring was hanging down loosely and had not been reinstalled correctly.
Thanks to TJM Caloundra, the issues have finally been fixed.
