Been looking for a strap like this for…

Been looking for a strap like this for decades....

My father was a photojournalist/newspaper photographer all throughout the 60's and 70's. He had these straps - when I became a photographer in my early teen's, a few of my cameras had his old straps. Eventually those all wore out completely and were replaced - I was never able, though, to find the original type again. I looked for years and years.

These are really well built and work great with small cameras. The leather is just the right balance between strength and softness - rugged. They are pretty thin, so I do not know how they'd feel on the shoulder supporting a really heavy rig. In that situation I'd probably want the thicker version for sure.

Thank you kind people at The Strapateer Company for caring enough about these straps enough to build these wonderful reproductions. I have them now on all of my cameras.

Strap type A

Ordered strap type A. Super happy when it arrived: excellent quality, the softness and flexibility of the leather feels great to the hands (and the body). E-mail contact with the Strapateer is quick, friendly and very helpful.

High Quality Camera Strap…

This is one of the best camera straps out there. The quality and craftsmanship is top notched! I have tried tons of camera straps but this is by far the best. I would highly recommend this camera strap!

EDC from when cameras didn't have batteries

In a saturated market, Strapateer is a breath of fresh, historic air. These were made for carrying kit in all conditions decades before most of us professionals were born. Now Matthew and his team have revived the storied strap for a new generation. This one will be toting my M3 Single Stroke in 2024 and beyond.

I like the strap but the shorter one is…

I like the strap but the shorter one is still to long at it’s shortest position and is to close and even makes contact with bottom camera. I adjusted longer strap to where camera is comfortable for me so the short strap I wish was a bit shorter.
