We ordered 2 Chimichurri Steak Salad since this was great on the first week the restaurant open in Carmel Mtn Ranch, San Diego. But we were so dissapointed this time that the steak on each of them were so burned that it looks like a charcoal and we were unable to eat it! Because of this it is hard to recommend this restaurant to anyone.
My daughter and granddaughter took me to The Stand today for Grandparents Day. We went to the Whittier location. The temperature in Whittier was over 100 degrees. The restaurant was warm inside. I don't think the AC was on. I ordered a salad. I hadn't even tasted it yet and a fly landed on the salad. Rather than freak out, I scooped the salad where the fly landed and put it on the extra plate. We had to shoo flies away the whole time we were there. My daughter likes the restaurant, but usually goes to the Long Beach location. I will not be going back to the Whittier location.

This was our first time at the Stand at 12045 Carmel Mountain Road and it will not be our last time. Your hamburger is GREAT and has no competition!
Lance took our order and he is outstanding, when we were trying to decide what to order he explained "everything" to us. He is excellent and please thank him for us.
