Rebecca Fisayo - A review of Adult ADHD training recently completed.

My name is Rebecca Fisayo, am a clinical manager for Community mental health out-patient services.

I appreciated the ADHA Adult training I recently participated in by Ms. Antionette - of the Spectrum Clinic and found the contents of grain ing very helpful, delivery style met my learning needs - theory coupled with vignette to apply the theoretical knowledge been delivered.
The discussions encouraged different views to be aired without judgement inviting the participants to discuss their clinical impression of the case.
I would recommend it to collegues.

Abysmal Administration and Severe Delays

The clinic was recommended for my 19 year old autistic/ ADHD daughter for private prescribing support (for ADHD medication) by the Psychology service local to us that conducted her diagnosis. The service has been abysmal. We first made contact in June, it is now September and she still hasn't had any support.
Documents and information are requested and provided but then frequently requested again because either (1) the clinic can't locate them or (2) the system used by the clinic apparently deletes documents within 3 days if they have not been actioned, and the repeated delays means that they are rarely actioned within 3 days.
There are lengthy delays in replying to emails (rarely less than a week and often longer) and the response invariably is to request the resending of information, or new information that should have been requested at the start of the process.

The process has been farcical and has caused significant stress for my already anxious child. The plan had been to start medication during the University holidays whilst she was at home and had support, so that she returned to University having made some progress towards being titrated on to the correct dose, but the University term is about to start and we are still stuck in this nightmarish admin loop with no support date in sight. She is now doubly anxious about returning to University.
I wish we'd never started this process and had looked elsewhere. The clinic is dealing with vulnerable people; do they not appreciate the impact that their service may have on them?

Thank you for taking the time to write to us. I am sincerely sorry for the experience you have had: you approached us for support and we did not deliver it, and the process you describe is far from the standard we set for ourselves.

The failings were administrative rather than clinical. Our internal processes and systems were significantly disrupted during this period, which led to the delays, the repeated requests for information and the slow responses to your emails. These issues have since been resolved. I appreciate that the timing of all this has made a difficult situation considerably harder for your daughter, and I am sorry that we added to it.

I would like to resolve this properly. Please contact us at admin@thespectrumclinic.com, marking your message for my attention. I will deal with it personally, work from the information you have already provided so that you are not asked for it again, and set out a clear plan and timeline.

ADHD assessment and diagnostic training…

I'm a practicing Mental Health Practitioner (RMN). I did not have much experience of ADHD assessments. I found the course very informative. Antonietta is very knowledgeable. Her personal, past and current life experiences of working and practicing offer invaluable real insight and practical examples. Her delivery of the course materials is steady and rather deliberate, making it easy to follow, what at times felt intense although worth it. I'm enrolling for the next one. Thank you.
