Delay and lack of communication
Ordered an album on December 10.
As of yesterday, December 20, my order had not been shipped according to order tracking.
I had no communication from the company regarding my order at all.
I reached out, as I had been anticipating my order being a Christmas Present.
Customer service did respond quickly, but told me that the item was “now out of stock and we will refund your purchase”
No prior email notifications that the item was out of stock to allow me to make alternate arrangements prior to Christmas.
Disappointing to have no updates and I as the customer had to reach out myself only to find I couldn’t get the product.

I wish negative stars were allowed. I do not recommend purchasing from this company.
I am giving The Sound of Vinyl this score because it has been over two weeks, (I ordered the item on November 30, 2024) and my purchase has yet to even be shipped. Mind you, I ordered an item from another INTERNATIONAL company based outside the United States, and I have already received that item. This is both the first and LAST time I purchase from this company. I am very disappointed by this experience.

International Review - surprise fees
I ordered from Sound of Vinyl with delivery to the Netherlands, paying for my order, delivery, and VAT at checkout.
A few days later I received an email from DHL that I owed an additional 32 euros (about 25% on top of my order).
Customer service told me they could not know what the fee would be and that I was responsible (which seems hard to believe).
I would strongly advise against ordering internationally from this website as you might receive a fairly substantial cost you were not expecting.

Placed order and chose next day delivery, but digging deeper on their site after going through the checkout process, I noticed next day is only after they've shipped it, which we all know is nonsense, in reality it's 5-7 business days!! How they've got the nerve to scam customers into paying postage rates that they don't adhere too is disgraceful and I'm sure illegal, I asked them to cancel my order and refund the money but apparently they cant contact the warehouse to do that!! It's companies like this that lose other companies business because of their lies, not good.

I pre-ordered two albums back in the summer, which were supposed to ship in early September. Then I received a notification that the order was delayed by a week. I did not hear anything for awhile so I reached out to customer service. They told me that my shipping address was invalid and asked me to resubmit my address. I did so, and then waited another 4 weeks and did not get a shipping notification. I reached out again at the beginning of November, and they said that my shipping address was coming up as invalid and asked me to resubmit it again, and check that it is valid through their validator. I did so, my address was valid, and I resubmitted my address to them. Now, 3 weeks later I still have not received a shipping notification so I reached out yet again. I was told AGAIN that my address is not valid. This time I requested an immediate refund. We'll see if I actually get my money back.

Initially pleased until all the records…
Initially pleased until all the records I bought in a sizable order went on sale the next day. Order hadn't shipped, but was told I couldn't cancel or even receive future credit on the difference of price. Tried supporting because of some cool choices, but won't be buying from them again.

Fake & Untrustworthy Company wit Zero Customer Service
I ordered the Andrea Bocelli signed Duets cd when it came out.
The signature is a printed signature and not a hand signed signature.
I feel conned out of my hard earned money.
I have emailed this company 4 times asking for a refund and on one ever replies back you you.
I also ordered Jelly Roll and this stated that the CDs were signed, but when the CD came, the signature was done with an auto-pen machine and not hand signed by the artist.
This company has ZERO customer service.
What a joke!

I am never using this service again
I am never using this service again. I made two orders that were to ship at the same time. Both records were released on the same day. One was sent to me without issue. The other was sent, much later, without explanation, though a different shipping company and was returned. It never even left the shipping facility. The only notification I received was an email that stated I got a refund. There was no explanation as to why. When I contacted customer service, they were incredibly unhelpful. I would think the least that could be done was to have it reordered and resent through a different shipper (i.e., the same they used for my other order), but the customer service agent would not and did not offer anything of use. Couldn't even give me an explanation for the canceled shipping. I ordered from The Sound of Vinyl to get the limited edition version of a record and now that window has closed, the record is sold out, and I'm left with this bad experience. I'll use any other UK service - Rough Trade, etc. than go back to The Sound of Vinyl. Should be the sound of disappointment and regret.
