Defrauded by The North Face Warranty Team – Case #21309873

I have been a loyal customer of The North Face for years. I own three of their jackets, multiple pairs of shoes, and two backpacks. I never imagined I would be treated like a criminal for trying to claim a warranty on a clearly defective product.
In March 2026, I contacted TNF Customer Care about a pair of shoes that had failed structurally. Over the course of three weeks, I jumped through every hoop they placed in front of me. I sent detailed photos of the fault, the entire shoe, the soles, the sides, the interior label, and the box. I provided my full address. I even tracked down a bank statement proving the purchase date.
Their response? Because the physical store (which I directed them to via Google Maps) wipes its system annually, they could not retrieve the original receipt. TNF then pivoted to the product manufacture date—Fall 2022—and used that to claim the shoes were outside the 3-year warranty window.
This is absurd. I bought the shoes in 2024. The bank statement clearly shows this. Yet they are deliberately conflating manufacture date with purchase date to shirk responsibility. A bank statement was not "proof enough" for them, despite it containing the transaction date, the retailer, and the amount.
Maria from their UK Customer Care team made it clear: without the original paper receipt, they would do nothing. Not a repair. Not a replacement. Not even a discount. Just a cold denial.
This is not how you treat a loyal customer. This is how a company hides behind bureaucratic technicalities to avoid honoring its own warranty promises. I am now expected to absorb the loss for their defective product because I trusted their brand enough not to treat the receipt like a sacred document.
I will never purchase from The North Face again, and I will make sure everyone in my circle knows that their "warranty" is a sham designed to expire the moment you actually need it.
Avoid at all costs.

Very disappointed with The North Face.

Very disappointed with The North Face.

I paid for a jacket that was never received because it was stolen during delivery, and the company has refused to replace it or refund me. Instead, they told me to contact my bank and request a chargeback, which is unacceptable customer service.

I’ve been a loyal customer for years and own a large amount of North Face gear for hiking and skiing, including equipment for my wife and children. After this experience, I will not be purchasing from them again.

Be careful when ordering online — if something goes wrong, you may be left without your product or your money.

VAT charged twice and not reimbursed

Complete scam! I've paid for VAT when purchasing products from their online store but, when the products arrived, the VAT was charged again (I'm outside the EU VAT area). They should've considered that when selling products for these countries and they simply chose to ignore that. I had a long complaint thread with TNF customer service and decided to reach out to the European Consumer Centre. I hope I get the duplicate VAT money back, it's been 4 months already.

I do not recommend The north Face

I do not recommend The north Face to anyone due to the fact of having returned a Christmas present on Dec 29 and not having received the refund yet after 1,5 month. To me that is not acceptable and very much in conflict with writing on the website.

Got compromised

Got compromised. Scammers accessed my account. Was able to fix all through my banks and changed or ended accounts. North Face was one. I opted out. Then still got emails saying they got my my new option to receive emails. I called them 7 times. I filled out their paperwork to completely eliminate my account. I have done everything. But again and again I get emails and texts that they got my new request for my account. So. I called again today. The rep said it's closed. I told her no it's not and sent her a clip of my most recent email about me opening an account. North Face shame on you. Loser company that does not protect your customers. I reported it to FTC but doubt that will help. Advise you to not be a part of this awful company

Misleading offers, not an honest or transparent company

A very poor experience today. On the North Face website it says "25% off ANY order above €200" but this is not the case.

The product I wanted to order was in fact excluded from this claim. I took this up with North Face on Twitter and all I was met with was defiance. They seem to think it's ok to make a statement in an advertisement only to revoke it in the terms and conditions.

This is a dishonest and dark pattern, it's a lie. They should not and cannot be trusted as a company, avoid.
