Extremely Unprofessional and Disrespectful Experience
I had a terrible experience today at The Mower Shop in Fishers. I came in to buy hydro oil after confirming with Anthony this morning that they had the parts in stock and that I should come in to get them (since ordering online would take longer). I showed up and stood at the front counter for over 20 minutes while Steve sat in a dark room and ignored me. As soon as another customer walked in, he immediately got up to help them completely ignoring me, even though I had been waiting much longer.
Paul, the owner, said he would help me after his customer but instead, he went on to help someone else too. While I stood there, every single person from the shop and the parts room came up to look at me, but no one offered to help or say a word. It felt like I was being deliberately ignored and humiliated.
I used to work here briefly, and I left on good terms. I even texted Paul after leaving to make sure there were no hard feelings. I didn’t do anything wrong. I kept things professional and respectful, and I still thought I had a good relationship with the team. But clearly, everyone else felt differently.
If you didn’t want to help me, why tell me to come in? Is this really how you get back at someone by telling them to come to the store and then treating them like they don’t exist? I walked out without anyone saying a word no “sorry,” no “can we help you,” no basic decency at all.
No one, former employee or not, deserves to be treated with this kind of disrespect. I wouldn’t want anyone else to feel the anxiety, awkwardness, or humiliation I felt today. It was wrong, and it was hurtful.
