If you really want to learn how to teach English as a foreign language and stand out in a crowded market as a teacher then get yourself to The Language House in the beautiful city of Prague.

From my first interaction with The Language House I felt safe and looked after. They were friendly, supportive and extremely efficient. I was guided through each step of the process, with offers of affordable housing options, pick up from the airport, assistance with getting a visa and finding longer term accommodation if I chose to stay and so much more.

The school facilities are comprehensive, location is perfect in the centre of the city with excellent transport links,
restaurants, cafés and shops, everything one could ever need.

The training itself was intensive, hands on and very well constructed, I came out with a much better understanding of the English language, teaching methodology, classroom management and having prepared and taught 9 hours of lessons at all different levels, as well as online and one-to-one. The staff all have comprehensive experience of teaching English and were so encouraging.

The bonus was learning how to set up and grow my income as a teacher, as well as tips on how to become an entrepreneur, learning so much from the resident expert on linguistics and getting to personally experience learning Czech as a reminder of how my future students may be feeling.

I was extremely nervous at the start, but I had such an amazing experience in Prague at The Language House and I will be returning this summer to take the Young Learners Training and learn how to teach children and young people.

For the cost of a standard holiday in the sun, I got to enjoy spending a month in a Unesco World Heritage city and come away with a new skill and the confidence to start a new career. Thank you all at The Language House, Prague.

I wasn’t certain about living in Europe. But the faculty, staff, and connections I’ve made through TLH have truly made my experience here a 1000times easier and more enjoyable.

The training course is amazing. They helped me not to just get a certificate but to be a better teacher and to be equipped to make more money here as a teacher.

Such a worthwhile course! THL definitely sets you up excellently for teaching in the real world - the hands-on experience prepared me so well and really instilled confidence in me. It was an intense course, but it’s also so much fun! It’s a great way to meet people, and THL provides you with a support network that lasts way longer than the month-long course. Cannot recommend it enough!

I learned more during this one-month course than I did during the entire University of Maryland teacher certification program. The Language House does a great job setting its teachers up for success. I was originally skeptical upon enrolling in this course; however, Chris and his team blew my skepticism away!

The Language House begins its support the moment you enroll in the course. You’ll receive a comprehensive guide to prepare you for departure (Stacy also provides unparalleled live support prior to your departure to Prague). There is also a fun orientation just prior to the course.

The course is staffed by top-notch instructors. Meanwhile, the director teaches some of the classes with a Robin Williams sense of humor. The graduation ceremony is tremendous fun. There is also much-appreciated support after graduation. Do yourself a big favor and take the in-person class in Prague!

I originally took an online TEFL course back in Canada and started my TEFL journey that way. After a year of teaching, I was sure that I wanted to progress in the field, and also tired of feeling incompetent in the classroom (I felt my online TEFL had barely equipped me with the basics, and I did not feel confident at all). So after careful consideration and research, I choose to take the course at The Language House.

I could not have been happier with my choice. My month long intensive gave me everything I needed to excel in the field of TEFL. Not only did I learn methodology and grammar, but I also got connected with a friendly and supportive community of fellow TEFL students and teachers. And it was FUN! TLH found a way to make the grueling process of learning grammar and teaching enjoyable. I couldn't wait to get to class each day to see what Chris had cooked up for us on that day. I was (almost) sad when it was over.

What did I get as a result? Less then two weeks after graduating, I got hired at my dream job (after turning down multiple other offers). My employers said I had the best demo lesson they had ever seen. After a month if teaching I was able to negotiate a higher pay because of the quality of my teaching. Now, almost half a year later, my employer continues to tell me how valuable I am to their team, and I can only thank TLH for everything I learned. I highly recommend TLH to anyone considering a career in TEFL.

Getting my TEFL certification through TLH was one of the best things I’ve done. The program is intense but gave me the tools necessary to succeed. The connections are also invaluable— I had a built in networking pool and plenty of ongoing support. If you’re on the fence, just jump in and do it!!
