I’ve had a really positive experience with the Interior Design Institute. One of the biggest advantages is how affordable the course is compared to other options, which makes it accessible without compromising on quality.

Before enrolling, I actually signed up with another interior design course that was much more expensive and, unfortunately, very outdated. The materials felt old and didn’t reflect current trends or practices, which was really disappointing.

In contrast, the Interior Design Institute is up-to-date, with modern images, fresh concepts, and relevant content that reflects today’s design world. The course itself is easy to follow and well-structured, even for beginners. The lessons are clear and engaging, and I’ve genuinely learned a lot about interior design—from basic principles to more detailed concepts.

One thing I especially love is how much my confidence has grown using SketchUp—I genuinely feel like a bit of a whizz on it now, which is something I never expected before starting the course!

Another highlight is the support from the tutors. They are helpful, responsive, and provide constructive feedback that really helps you improve and stay motivated throughout the course.

Overall, I would definitely recommend the Interior Design Institute to anyone looking to get started in interior design in a flexible, supportive, and budget-friendly way.

Great program, especially for the cost! I wasn't sure what to expect at the onset but what I've learned so far has been a great value. I'm not sure if I'll be able to parlay this into a career, per say, but I've learned so much that will help me in our own home projects. And the online learning support has been wonderful. I'd add that joining the FB group has also been really helpful & gets you more in touch with other students that may be struggling at the same point you are. Additionally, the modules definitely get more challenging (and time-consuming!!) as you progress, but after each one I've completed, my sense of satisfaction is huge.

I'm taking the Advanced SketchUp module next- can't wait to see how much better this will make my renderings!

I’m currently a student at the Interior Design Institute and just finished Module 10 of 12—and I have to say, I am absolutely loving it! I can’t stress enough how thorough and well-structured the course is. Every module is packed with valuable insights, practical exercises, and clear guidance.

One of the best parts is being able to learn at my own pace. It makes it so much easier to really absorb the material and revisit concepts whenever I need to. This flexibility, combined with the depth of content, makes the learning experience truly enjoyable.

I couldn’t recommend the Interior Design Institute more for anyone looking to seriously level up their interior design skills!

IDI course is detailed with a great knowledge base for interior design, but also not boring. I have been enjoying it, and all assignments are challenging but still interesting to do.

The course is easy to understand and my tutor is always ready to assist in a very kind way. I will definetly recommend the course to anyone who is interested in interior design. I am a 60 year old and can proudly say that you are never to old to learn!

Even though I always had a passion and natural instinct for interior this course helped me learn the finery details of a design project and what it entails to complete it successfully. I feel more confident knowing that when I have my diploma I can proceed in designing beautiful projects and build on my experience as a designer. I would love to continue to learn from an online platform with mentors, to be able to ask advice and continue the learning process in the field of Interior Design.

I would highly recommend the Diploma of Interior Design with IDI! I have loved this course, the content was informative, presented well and genuinely educational. Each module flows onto the next, and has relevance to previous content learnt so everything feels engaging. My tutor, Linda, is great! She is helpful, supportive and provides great feedback.

I'm having a blast doing the IDI course! I'm halfway through it and the modules are exactly what I was looking for. The readings are interesting and the final activities are great to apply the knowledge I learned in each module. I'm excited for what's ahead!

As a student at The Interior Design Institute (IDI), I’ve had a productive journey. I wanted to share a balanced look at the program for those considering enrolling.

✅ The Pros:
Learn at your own pace: This is a huge advantage. The flexibility allowed me to fit my studies around my life without any pressure. There are also ways of prolonging the time frame if needed.

Comprehensive Overview: The course provides a very good general overview of the interior design world and its core principles.

Responsive Support: I was impressed by the fast response times from both the staff and my tutor. You never feel ignored when you have a question.

❌ The Cons:
Text-Heavy Format: Almost all core materials are written. It was disappointing that videos on specific topics require an additional fee; I would have preferred more video-based teaching in the main curriculum.

Lack of Direct Interaction: You never actually get to talk to your tutor. All communication is written, and I believe a few live conversations would have added immense value.

Independent Research & Practicality: There is still a lot you have to research and learn on your own. While assignment feedback is valuable, I don't feel it fully prepares you for the complexities of real-life client situations.

Final Thoughts:
Overall, I am truly grateful for everything I’ve learned through the readings and assignments. While I don’t yet feel 100% "industry-ready" to jump into the field, IDI has given me a solid foundation and a passion for design that I didn't have before. I’m thankful for the experience and the knowledge gained.

The courses are very Well explained and detailed. The tutors responds quickly and efficiently, and always ready to help. What i like as well is the convenience of learning , being a busy mom, its not easy for me to join live institutes.

I’ve learned so much just in the first 5 modules so far! My tutor/instructor is very kind and helpful and gives me great feedback on my assignments. She also marks them in a timely manner! I love this course and can’t wait to see where it takes me!

I really enjoy the Interior Design Institute Program, I’ve learned a lot throughout the courses , I’m thinking about doing this as a career hopefully for the long run.
